WR Jamison Crowder, NYG (2 Viewers)

Jamison Crowder (groin) did not practice on Thursday.

Braxton Berrios has 18 targets in the first two weeks and the setback with Crowder's groin injury from Wednesday looks like it's threatening to keep him out for Week 3. Crowder has yet to suit up between a stint on the COVID-19 list and this injury and can be dropped in leagues with more attractive short-term options.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Jamison Crowder (groin) will be a game-time decision Sunday against Denver.

Crowder didn't practice this week after suffering a setback in his recovery from a lingering groin issue. He was a surprise inactive last week against New England. Braxton Berrios stepped in as the Jets' main slot receiver in Week 2 and inexplicably saw nine targets from Zach Wilson, mostly in garbage time. None of New York's receivers are recommended fantasy options this week against a tough Broncos defense. Under constant duress, Wilson has struggled to get anything going in the Jets' passing attack.

Jamison Crowder caught 7-of-9 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' Week 4 win over the Titans.

Crowder was Zach Wilson's favorite target, continuing a trend of the second overall pick heavily targeting the slot (Braxton Berrios had 21 total targets in the previous three games). Crowder mostly works close to the line of scrimmage, so his targets aren't super valuable, but volume alone makes him a flex candidate in PPR formats. Against a soft Falcons secondary in Week 5, Crowder is quietly viable.

If he stays in NY, he's a flex guy the rest of the year as Wilson improves. If he gets traded, his value could go up if he ends up in a place like KC.

>>The #Patriots place CB Jon Jones on IR. The team is calling it a shoulder injury. A thin group at CB just got thinner. Remember, the Pats also traded for Shaun Wade and he's been out for weeks with a concussion.<<

How high up the ranks is Crowder getting bumped in your mind? A decent WR 3 play now that E Moore is on IR? He used to get a lot of targets and catches, great for PPR leagues.

With that offense, with all the players they are missing - I wouldn't touch Crowder with a 10 foot pole.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano confirms the Jets are unlikely to re-sign impending free agent WR Jamison Crowder.

28-year-old Crowder was expected to be cut last summer but ended up taking a sizable pay cut to remain with Gang Green. He proceeded to miss Week 1 on the COVID before missing time with a groin issue. After finally making his season debut in Week 4, Crowder ended up missing two more games before the end of the year and caught a modest 51 passes in 12 games. He averaged a woeful 8.8 yards per catch in the Jets' low-wattage attack, and was outshined by Elijah Moore in the middle of the field. He will not be back in Florham Park.

NLF Network's Ian Rapoport reports that WR Jameson Crowder suffered a broken ankle in Week 4 against the Ravens.

Crowder is undergoing further tests to see if any additional damage was created by the injury. Crowder is now out indefinitely. Turning 30 in June, Crowder is an unrestricted free agent after the season. He could end up being a late summer addition or an in-season 2023 signing depending on how his rehab goes. Crowder's absence will open up playing time for Isaiah McKenzie and rookie Khalil Shakir.

Jamison Crowder told The Athletic he's aiming for a "late December timeframe" to be activated off injured reserve.

Because it was a "clean break," Crowder's surgery was fairly simple and he's been running in a pool with an underwater treadmill. Crowder told Joe Buscaglia he's looking to start jogging in "maybe like, two weeks." This timeline puts Crowder out of legitimate fantasy consideration this season, but he could be a playoff factor for the Bills.

Slayton, Shephard and Parris Campbell...
And Darren Waller
And Barkley

The Giants have arguably one of the worst starting set of WRs vs many teams. Some teams have 1 WR that trumps their entire roster or stable of receivers.
Who do the Giants run out at Wide Receiver that scares you?
I can see Crowder becoming a set of hands on 3rd down if he's 100%.
Crowder needs volume to be effective in PPR leagues.
Bye week filler mostly
You probably would prefer the upside of many other WRs
Might go undrafted in several leagues
