WR Jamison Crowder, NYG (2 Viewers)

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Colts.

Breshad Perriman (ankle) is also out. It leaves Chris Hogan and Braxton Berrios as the Jets' starting receivers. We'd expect TE Chris Herndon to see a few more targets, but we're fading the entire Jets offense against the Colts. Crowder and Perriman didn't practice all week and aren't locks to return in Week 4.

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) remained "limited" on Tuesday.

He's now been "limited" back-to-back days after failing to practice last week and sitting out the Jets' dismal loss to the Colts. Crowder is desperately needed in the Jets' injury-ruined receiver corps, but the short week makes it complicated. It's possible Crowder ends up a game-time call for Thursday's showdown with the Broncos. If he does play, he can be reinserted as a workload-based, low-end WR3.

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) is questionable to play in Thursday's Week 4 game against the Broncos.

Crowder missed Week 3 and was ruled out two days before kickoff, so the fact that there is a chance he is available for kickoff in 24 hours hopefully means the injury is progressing in the right direction. Despite playing in just one game this season, Crowder remains third in targets on the team with 13. He always offers the potential of seeing double digit targets when on the field due to the total lack of pass catchers on the Jets' roster.

Anyone thinking of firing Crowder up tonight? Have a couple of options at flex but considering Crowder

Jets WR Jamison Crowder (hamstring) will play Thursday against the Broncos.

New York's No. 1 receiver is back after missing two games with a hamstring injury. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said Crowder "won't be 100 percent" but will "give it a go" against the Broncos on Thursday Night Football. He sounds like a risky proposition for fantasy managers, though Crowder could command a bunch of targets in a receiver group that includes Chris Hogan and Braxton Berrios. Both Hogan and Berrios get a downgrade against Denver if Crowder is active.

I'm starting him over Cole and MVS in a standard league.

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) is active for Week 4 against the Broncos.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Thursday morning that the Jets' de facto No. 1 wideout "won't be 100 percent." Great. Even with targets certain to be funneled his way, Crowder is a low-ceiling WR3 for the league's worst-coached offense. Inactive for the Jets are WR Breshad Perriman, QB James Morgan, S Ashtyn Davis, LB Jordan Willis, S Marqui Christian, CB Quincy Wilson and DL Nathan Shepherd.

Jamison Crowder caught 7-of-10 targets for 104 yards in the Jets' Week 4 loss to the Broncos.

On an evening almost entirely without bright spots, Crowder's healthy return was the only one. He notched gains of 27 and 35 yards as he reached seven receptions and 100 yards for the second time in as many 2020 appearances. Currently the only healthy wideout amongst the Jets' regular rotation, Crowder is the only Gang Green pass catcher to have any discernible chemistry with Sam Darnold. Even as the Jets' world crumbles around them, Crowder will be a cinch WR3 for Week 5 vs. the Cardinals.

Oct 1, 2020, 11:52 PM ET

Jamison Crowder caught 8-of-10 targets for 116 yards and one touchdown in the Jets' Week 5 loss to the Cardinals.

The only bright spot for the Jets' dumpster fire, Crowder has now eclipsed 100 receiving yards in every game he's played (3) this year. He's also seen double-digit targets in all three of those contests, trailing only Davante Adams (24.1) in fantasy points per game (22.5) at their respective position. Crowder should be viewed as a high-end WR2 whether it's Joe Flacco or Sam Darnold under center against the Chargers in Week 6.

Not good. I’m probably forced to start Freeman tonight on the chance he doesn’t go with no options.

Jamison Crowder (groin) was downgraded to "DNP" for Thursday's practice.

It is possible the Jets are simply managing Crowder's reps, but mid-week downgrades are never good news, especially when it is from "limited" to no practice. It could mean Crowder's groin did not feel well on Thursday after testing it out on Wednesday. Crowder's loss would be a calamity for either Joe Flacco or Sam Darnold under center. A Jets offense that can't score would struggle to even get first downs. If Crowder goes, his health uncertainty will leave him as a lower-end, more volatile WR2 against the Bills.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Jets WR Jamison Crowder (groin, doubtful) is not expected to play in Week 7 against the Bills.

Crowder was the one bright spot on an otherwise struggling Jets offense. His 190 yards after the catch are fifth among receivers this year. In the four games he's played, Crowder has a target share of 32%. Breshad Perriman will step into a larger role and become a deep flex play once Crowder is officially ruled out.

Jamison Crowder (groin) is inactive for Week 7 against Buffalo.

Crowder was never expected to play after getting downgraded to doubtful. Also inactive are QB James Morgan, CB Quincy Wilson, DL Jordan Willis, OL Alex Lewis, OL Cam Clark, and K Sam Ficken.

Jamison Crowder (groin) did not practice Wednesday.

Crowder will need to get a full practice in before suiting up for a game. Starting the week as a "DNP" suggests that he's likely on the wrong side of questionable ahead of the Week 8 contest against the Chiefs. When healthy, Crowder has operated as a WR1/2 in PPR formats. Staying healthy, however, has been a problem of his for a chunk of his career. Breshad Perriman (concussion) also missed Wednesday's practice.

Oct 29, 2020, 1:18 AM ET

Jets coach Adam Gase said Jamison Crowder (groin) is "not looking good" for Week 8 against the Chiefs.

Crowder missed Friday's practice, a sign he's not going to play. The setback and late-week downgrade are likely to keep him out another game. With Crowder and  Breshad Perriman (concussion) sidelined, the Jets will go with a three-wide set of Denzel Mims, Vyncint Smith, and Braxton Berrios.

Jamison Crowder (groin) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice.

For what it's worth, coach Adam Gase said Crowder "might" be able to practice on Friday. He'll at least have an extra 24 hours to heal since the Jets take on the Patriots Monday night. Crowder remains the only confident option on the entire team even if Joe Flacco starts in place of Sam Darnold (shoulder).

Jamison Crowder (groin) is expected to be active for Week 9 against the Patriots.

As is Breshad Perriman (concussion). Officially, Crowder is questionable. With Denzel Mims back and playing well, it means the Jets will finally have their full receiver corps healthy at one time. The problem is, Sam Darnold (shoulder) will be sidelined and it will be Joe Flacco under center against the Patriots on Monday evening. Even with Flacco, Crowder should soak up enough targets to provide WR3 value.

Jamison Crowder (groin) is active for Week 9 against the Patriots.

He and Breshad Perriman (concussion) are good to go. They'll join rookie Denzel Mims, Braxton Berrios, and Jeff Smith to make up the Jets' wideout corps for Joe Flacco, who is starting for injured Sam Darnold. Crowder is a low-floor WR3 with Flacco under center.

Nov 9, 2020, 7:15 PM ET

Jamison Crowder caught both of his targets for 26 yards and one touchdown in the Jets' Week 9 loss to the Patriots.

Crowder was playing through a groin issue, and his two targets were well behind Denzel Mims (8) and Breshad Perriman (7) who were consistently getting behind the Stephon Gilmore-less back end. Crowder still was able to find the end zone with a sick 20-yard toe-tapping score with 25 seconds left in the first half. It was a perfect throw from Joe Flacco. Crowder gets the Week 10 bye to heal up before a Week 11 date with the Chargers where he'll be a WR3.

Week 10 Dynasty Risers and Fallers: Brandin Cooks remains undervalued

Excerpt:

FALLER: WR JAMISON CROWDER, NEW YORK JETS

Crowder had a quiet game versus the Patriots but salvaged the night with a touchdown. He was coming off a groin injury, and Joe Flacco keyed in on Breshad Perriman beating the New England secondary downfield. It was just one game, and the lacking performance by Crowder likely went unnoticed because of the touchdown. It should raise room for concerns, though.

Crowder posted three 100-yard games to start the year, but none of them came with Denzel Mimsand Perriman both on the field. In three games played, Mims has a 25% target share. Perriman’s contests have been split apart by injuries, but he holds a 17% target share. Like Robinson, the previous sample on Crowder seems to have cast an overly positive light on his fantasy outlook. Unlike Robinson, Crowder’s team is set to have a new quarterback and likely a new head coach heading into the 2021 season. Despite the recent downward trend, those factors make Crowder a hold.

Jamison Crowder caught 3-of-4 targets for 31 yards in Week 12 against Miami.

Even with Sam Darnold starting, Crowder continued to see fewer targets than Denzel Mims and Breshad Perriman. The yards were his most since Week 5, but there weren't many plays for the Jets' slot man. Crowder should remain on fantasy benches for a Week 13 matchup with the Raiders.

Jamison Crowder was added to the Jets' injury report on Thursday with a calf issue, getting in a "limited" session.

It's a new ailment for Crowder, who always seems to be battling something. The mid-week addition is never what you want to see. Friday's status will be key headed into Sunday's impossible road mission against the Seahawks. Crowder had just revived his connection with Sam Darnold for 5/47/2 in Week 13. He will be a usage-based WR3 if all ends up well for the trip to Seattle.

Kind of funny how Crowders 2 TD game from last week gets glossed over. I think a lot of fantasy talking heads were trying to bury him then look the other way when he does something well.

Nobody has really talked about this guy all year but he is very relevant. Downgraded on Thursday with a calf scares me a little. He didn't practice Friday and the last thing I saw said he was questionable for today?

Any Jets homers or anyone else heard anything more?

I was fully ready to start him this week. But the fact that he didn't practice Friday after practicing Thursday has made me put in Chark instead.

Jamison Crowder (calf) will play in Week 14 against the Seahawks.

Even so, there's a terrific chance Crowder is merely an emergency option after suffering an injury in practice on Thursday and sitting out altogether the following day. Fantasy players shouldn't risk his potential zero in the box score if they can help it in the first round of the fantasy playoffs.

Dec 13, 2020, 2:46 PM ET

Jamison Crowder (calf) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice.

It's an upgrade from Wednesday when Crowder sat out altogether. Odds are he's available on Sunday, but it's still a nightmarish matchup opposite the Rams' secondary, which has allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to enemy wideouts. Crowder will merely be considered a floor play if active Sunday.

Jamison Crowder (questionable, calf) is expected to play in the Week 15 against the Rams.

Crowder missed Wednesday's practice but is on track to play after back to back limited sessions. Denzel Mims should draw Jalen Ramsey in coverage, but this is still a shy-away matchup for Crowder against the league's best secondary at less than 100 percent. Crowder hasn't seen more than seven targets since Week 6.

Jamison Crowder caught 6-of-8 targets for 66 yards in the Jets' Week 15 win over the Rams.

Even at less than 100 percent health, Crowder produced his second best effort of the past two months in what turned out to be a stunning Jets victory. Crowder has the most chemistry with Sam Darnold amongst the Jets pass catchers, but that obviously is not saying much in this completely dysfunctional offense. Crowder will find himself on the WR3/4 borderline for Week 16 date with the Browns' pass-funnel defense.

Jamison Crowder (calf, thigh) was limited during Wednesday's practice.

Crowder turned eight targets into 66 yards against the Rams after dealing with a calf injury heading into the contest. It is unlikely you are willing to play Crowder in the fantasy finals, but he does have a chance of seeing 6-plus targets out of the slot against the Browns.

ESPN's Rich Cimini reports Jamison Crowder could be a cap casualty this offseason.

The Jets, per Cimini, could part ways with their best offensive player because his cap charge is a team-high $11.4 million, including a non-guaranteed $10 million base salary. Jarvis Landry and Tyler Lockett are the only slot receivers making more than Crowder, who has been among the NFL's most productive slot receivers. He's seventh in receptions (91) and eighth in yards (1,094) on plays from the slot over the past two seasons. New York could replace Crowder, 27, with free agents like JuJu Smith-Schuster or Chris Godwin if they get aggressive in free agency. Cimini noted that unrestricted free agent Kendrick Bourne -- who played in a Niners offense that will be similar to the Jets' new offense -- could be a candidate to replace Crowder as the team's slot guy in 2021

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said WR Jamison Crowder "definitely has a role" in the Jets offense.

Saleh insisted Crowder is part of the team's offense even though the veteran is not attending OTAs while working out "some stuff" with his contract. Crowder's cap charge is a team-high $11.4 million, including a non-guaranteed $10 million base salary, making the veteran a prime candidate for release this summer. The Jets used their second-round draft pick last month on Ole Miss slot WR Elijah Moore, a much cheaper alternative to Crowder, who has turned into one of the league's best slot receivers. He's seventh in receptions (91) and eighth in yards (1,094) on plays from the slot over the past two seasons. Meanwhile, Saleh said Corey Davis is dealing "with a couple things," including a shoulder injury he suffered last week. Denzel Mims was expected to practice Friday after missing time with a non-COVID illness.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports the Jets are trying to get contract-year WR Jamison Crowder to take a “significant” pay cut from his $10 million salary.

Coach Robert Salah confirmed Crowder is skipping offseason practices to "work through some stuff" with his contract. The Jets don't want to cut Crowder outright and he's unlikely to get more than $3 million on the open market, so a restructure makes sense for both sides. Crowder, who has no guaranteed money remaining, will return in a slot role under OC Mike LaFleur if he's willing to play at a lower salary.

ESPN's Rich Cimini reports the Jets want WR Jamison Crowder "to take at least a 50 percent pay cut."

Crowder is due a non-guaranteed $10 million this year, and has held out of offseason practices while his agent negotiates with the Jets. Crowder, the team's clearcut No. 1 receiver in 2020, doesn't have much leverage after New York drafted stud slot receiver Elijah Moore in the second round of the 2021 draft. Cimini said even if the team restructures Crowder's 2021 contract, they could then trade him this summer. Crowder, who turns 28 this week, could emerge as a reliable fantasy option if he lands on a team without a target dominator. It's unclear how much playing time the veteran would see with the Jets as Moore impresses in offseason practices.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Jets renegotiated Jamison Crowder's contract and will retain the veteran for 2021.

ESPN's Rich Cimini suggested the Jets could renegotiate Crowder's deal -- he was due $10 million in non-guaranteed money this year -- before trading him. That remains a possibility as it's hard to see where Crowder fits into the Jets' new offense; the team took stud slot receiver Elijah Moore in the second round of the 2021 draft. Crowder saw 70 percent of his team-high 89 targets from the slot in 2020. Meanwhile, the Jets this offseason signed Corey Davis and Keelan Cole to play on the outside. The Jets receivers are going to be jumbled this summer.

Jets placed WR Jamison Crowder on the reserve/COVID list.

Crowder has also been dealing with a groin injury ahead of the team's regular season opener. Only nine days away from kicking off against the Panthers, Crowder's vaccination status, which is currently unknown, will ultimately decide whether he's back at practice next week or unavailable to play due to the 10-day isolation protocol for unvaccinated players. Rookie Elijah Moore missed a majority of camp with his own injury but would be slated for an every-down role both from the boundary and in the slot if Crowder were ruled out.

Jets coach Robert Saleh said WR Jamison Crowder has a chance to play in Week 2 against the Patriots.

Saleh also noted that Keelan Cole is day-to-day with a knee injury and could play as well. Crowder was sent to the reserve/COVID-19 list 10 days ago but was unable to make it off the list in time for Week 1. His status for the upcoming week will depend on the result of an upcoming COVID test. The Jets offense was horrific in their opener, scoring just 14 points against the Panthers. The additions of Crowder and Cole should help them mount a better passing attack in Week 2. Braxton Berrios tied Corey Davis for a team-high in targets versus Carolina. Still, it's on Zach Wilson to make the most of his weaponry upgrade as the rookie passer struggled mightily in his debut. Crowder can be stashed in deeper fantasy leagues but will be a risky play against New England.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport report Jamison Crowder (groin) is expected to play in Week 2 against the Patriots.

Crowder has been dealing with the groin injury for a few weeks and also missed practice time plus Week 1 while on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Jets looked desperate for pass-catching help in Week 1 as Braxton Berrios saw seven targets and the team amassed just 14 points. Crowder should take over for Berrios as New York's primary slot receiver and provide a considerable boost in play-making ability to the offense. He's a risky FLEX play until we see what the nature of his role will be.
