Jets head coach Robert Saleh said WR Jamison Crowder "definitely has a role" in the Jets offense.
Saleh insisted Crowder is part of the team's offense even though the veteran is not attending OTAs while working out "some stuff" with his contract. Crowder's cap charge is a team-high $11.4 million, including a non-guaranteed $10 million base salary, making the veteran a prime candidate for release this summer. The Jets used their second-round draft pick last month on Ole Miss slot WR Elijah Moore, a much cheaper alternative to Crowder, who has turned into one of the league's best slot receivers. He's seventh in receptions (91) and eighth in yards (1,094) on plays from the slot over the past two seasons. Meanwhile, Saleh said Corey Davis is dealing "with a couple things," including a shoulder injury he suffered last week. Denzel Mims was expected to practice Friday after missing time with a non-COVID illness.
