Official Alshon Jeffery - The Bandwagon (1 Viewer)

So who are the starting WRs for Philly today?
looks like...

The Eagles signed wide receiver Greg Ward from the practice squad and placed safety Rudy Ford on injured reserve. Ward will man the slot in place of Agholor as the Eagles will have a wide receiver core of  Jordan Matthews, Mack Hollins JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Ward as they will be down their top three receivers.

Alshon Jeffery caught 9-of-16 targets for 137 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Jeffery took advantage of a banged-up Miami secondary, posting a season high in yards. He gave the Eagles a two-score lead in the second half on a 10-yard touchdown from Carson Wentz, but the Dolphins would rally late for the win. Jeffery looked completely over the ankle injury that sidelined him the last two games. He's a WR2 for a matchup with the Giants in Week 14.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Alshon Jeffery's (foot) injury is "significant."

Jeffery "felt something pop" during his non-contact injury on Monday night and Pederson didn't sound too encouraged with the ensuing MRI results. The 29-year-old is still undergoing testing but shouldn't be expected to return at any point this year. Philadelphia will look to add a body at wideout if Nelson Agholor (knee), who's status remains "up in the air," isn't cleared ahead of the team's Week 15 matchup against Washington.

NFL.com's Mike Garafolo reports Alshon Jeffery (foot) is done for the season.

We've still yet to receive an exact diagnosis of Jeffery's injury, but the news continues to be ominous after he went down in non-contact fashion against the Giants. Hopefully he has avoided an Achilles' issue. It's just the latest injury for 29-year-old Jeffery, who will head into the offseason averaging 12 games over his past five seasons. He's appeared in all 16 games just once since 2014. Losing more explosion with each passing year, Jeffery is signed for a prohibitive $12.75 million each of the next two seasons. We would typically consider Jeffery a candidate for release, but the Eagles have one of the league's thinnest recever depth charts, while the move would leave behind a whopping $26.1 million in dead money. Jeffery is in his Michael Crabtree twilight years in dynasty leagues.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Alshon Jeffery (foot, injured reserve) has been diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury and needs surgery.

Yikes. It's better than a torn Achilles' tendon, but this is close to the worst-case scenario for soon-to-be 30-year-old Jeffery. Lisfranc injuries are always tricky for wideouts. That is especially true once you are on the wrong side of 30. Frequently injured, Jeffery had a miserable 2019 but engaged in a contract restructure that fully guaranteed him $11.5 million for 2020. The Eagles might wish they had that one back about now. Jeffery should be considered questionable for the start of training camp. The Eagles badly need to address their receiver corps this offseason.
Did someone say yikes?

Alshon Jeffery underwent foot surgery on Sunday.

The surgery was performed by leading foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. Lisfranc injuries are no day at the beach, though the hope is that Jeffery is up and running for the start of 2020. With Jeffery, DeSean Jackson (abdomen) and Nelson Agholor (knee) all sidelined, the injury-depleted Eagles featured a starting receiving corps of JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward and Robert Davis in Sunday's win at Washington.

The Athletic's Connor Hughes reports Alshon Jeffery "would welcome the change of scenery" that would come with a potential trade.

Jeffery and the Eagles don't appear to be on the best terms right now, although his agent denied the report. The receiver will be heading into his age-30 season coming off an ominous Lisfranc foot surgery, and he has a $15.7 million cap hit this season followed by another $18.5 million in 2021. It's hard to trust Jeffery moving forward given his injury history, and it will be hard to trade Jeffery given his contract. The Eagles are likely to add some youth to their receiver room in the draft if they aren't happy with the free agent market. Luckily for Philly, this draft class is expected to be strong.

Speaking Tuesday, Eagles GM Howie Roseman declined comment on both Alshon Jeffery's (foot) health and future with the team.

"Those are things we’re going to keep in-house and will have honest conversations with all of our players," was the extent of Roseman's comments on Jeffery's Philly future. He wasn't any more expansive on his health. "We’re not going to get into timetables on injuries. But when you talk about Alshon, the most important thing for Alshon is getting him healthy as quickly as possible." Jeffery is reportedly amenable to a "change of scenery," but his contract is close to untradeable. The 30-year-old is recovering from Lisfranc surgery. Jeffery's release would provide no cap relief.

Eagles exercised WR Alshon Jeffery's 2020 option.

The Eagles had been noncommittal on Jeffery's future, but his contract made this a lock to be picked up. Philly would have taken a $26.1 dead money hit to move on from him. Coming off Lisfranc surgery, 30-year-old Jeffery is questionable for the start of training camp. He can't be counted on to stay healthy.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reports the Eagles attempted to trade Alshon Jeffery last season.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman reportedly began shopping Jeffery only a month after the organization guaranteed his $15.4 million cap hit for 2020. Now 30 and questionable for the start of training camp following Lisfranc surgery, it would be shocking if the team received so much as an offer for the disgruntled wideout ahead of the regular season. Philadelphia is fully expected to add to their receiving room on both Day 1 and Day 2 of April's draft.

He would be a great fit for Rivers in IND, but I'm not sure they would want to take on the 2021 portion of his contract. There aren't a lot of places that make a good fit so I assume his trade value would be especially low in a draft with this much WR talent. Maybe places that have cap space and a HC worried about losing his job like HOU. If they have trouble replacing Hopkins(and they will) there could be a regime change coming unless Johnson and Watt return to form.

Eagles’ official insider Dave Spadaro reported "the plan is for Alshon Jeffery to be a major part of the offense."

Spadaro noted that Jeffery still needs to complete his rehab from his Lisfranc injury. It seems somewhat likely they would've cut him already if they planned to do so considering it's unprofessional to release veterans after the main free-agency window has already closed. The Eagles added plenty of speed to their offense through the draft, but it wouldn't be shocking if Jeffery and DeSean Jackson open up the season in two-WR sets ahead of the team's various rookies. Obviously first-round pick Jalen Reagor will see plenty of snaps either way; just don't assume that Jeffery will be placed on the bench if healthy.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Alshon Jeffery (foot) is without a timetable for return.

Pederson just wants Jeffery to "focus on his rehab and get strong" but notes that he will be "a big part of the process" upon return. Lisfranc injuries are tricky to heal and the re-injury risk is heightened for a 30-year-old veteran. It's possible that Jeffery misses games early in the season, although the Eagles haven't directly said that quite yet. When he is ready to play, Jeffery faces more competition for targets than he did last year when he averaged 49.0 yards per game. Philly will be adding DeSean Jackson (2019 injury), Jalen Reagor (first-round rookie), and Marquise Goodwin (trade) this season. The risk likely outweighs the reward for Jeffery in fantasy leagues.

Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski notes Alshon Jeffery (foot) is "almost certain to start" on the PUP list.

Jeffery remains without a timetable for return, per coach Doug Pederson, so he's a near lock to be on the sideline when training camp rolls around later this month. The question is if he'll have enough time to make it back onto the field by the beginning of the regular season. If he stays on the PUP list to begin the year, Jeffery will miss at least six games, and by then, he may not have a role if first-round WR Jalen Reagor and DeSean Jackson meet expectations. Jeffery is an easy fade in fantasy drafts with health and "juice" as a 30-year-old working against him. Meanwhile, Reagor is a very interesting double-digit round fantasy selection.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Alshon Jeffery (foot) "is in a really good spot."

Having said that, Pederson wouldn't give a hard update on when Jeffery would actually be allowed to practice. Barring a surprise return to walkthroughs, fantasy players should assume the 30-year-old opens the year on Philadelphia's PUP list, paving the way for first-round rookie Jalen Reagor to start across from DeSean Jackson. Marquise Goodwin and John Hightower are expected to battle for a role in three-wide sets.

Eagles placed Alshon Jeffery (foot) on the active/PUP list.

Jeffery will not be practicing with the team when training camp practices eventually begin (likely mid-August). Instead, he'll be rehabbing his surgically-repaired Lisfranc foot injury that he suffered late last season. Jeffery can be removed from the active/PUP list at any time before the season starts, but there's a chance he's placed on the reserve/PUP list at the end of camp. At that point, Jeffery would be slated to miss the first six weeks of the season. A 30-year-old rushing back from a serious foot injury is not a player to be drafting in fantasy. Rookie Jalen Reagor and speedster DeSean Jackson are affordable double-digit round targets.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffrey (foot) will likely miss the team's season opener, but could return to the lineup later in September.

NFL Insider Adam Caplan said Jeffrey will probably need more time to recover from the Lisfranc surgery he had in December. Caplan said the veteran is "obviously fairly close. It’s just matter of how close.” With rookie Jalen Reagor out for the first month of the season, Jeffrey could return to a paper-thin Eagles receiver group. Until Jeffrey's return, JJ Arcega-Whiteside will be the lone big-bodied wideout in Philadelphia. Jeffrey profiles as nothing more than a late-round selection in deep fantasy leagues.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman believes Alshon Jeffery (foot) will be ready before Week 7.

Jeffery appears to have dodged the PUP list, meaning he'll likely return within the first six games. He's still working his way back from foot surgery, however, and the Eagles are actively looking for trade partners. Jeffery's $9.9 million contract makes that difficult. The Eagles have DeSean Jackson, Jalen Reagor, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Greg Ward to round out the group. Jeffery is a player to leave on the waiver wire until he's activated in standard-sized leagues.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (foot) could return in the next few weeks.

NBC Sports' Reuben Frank reported that Jeffrey, recovering from offseason foot surgery, won't be back for Week 3 or Week 4, but could return to the team's lineup soon thereafter. The veteran wideout has yet to practice, though he was "doing some footwork drills on the sideline as his teammates" this week in preparation for the Bengals, Frank said. With Jalen Reagor out until November, Jeffrey could fall into target volume as soon as he returns. He's worth a bench stash in deeper fantasy formats.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) returned to Eagles practice on Thursday.

The development was played up by the Eagles' Twitter account, though he will undoubtedly be listed as limited. It is Jeffery's first practice of any kind in 9.5 months. NBC Sports' Reuben Frank, long on the Eagles beat, reported Thursday morning that Jeffery would not suit up for Weeks 3 and 4. This is likely just the beginning of Jeffery being eased back in. Although Jeffery is a shell of his former self, he remains a critical cog for an offense that just learned it will be missing Jalen Reagor (thumb) until at least Week 10.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) has been ruled out for Week 3.

The Eagles cleared Jeffery for individual drills this week but he was never expected to play. Jeffery has been targeting a Week 5 return, though it's possible Jalen Reagor's injury accelerates his timetable. The Eagles will go with Greg Ward and J.J. Arcega-Whitesite behind DeSean Jackson in Week 3.

Following to see if Jeffery has any value to boost WR 3/4 status moving forward. I don't see him listed in the rest of season rankings??? I looked through the entire list 2-3 times and don't see him anywhere? Am I crazy lol or did Football Guys just miss ranking him going forward? Trying to get a gauge where he ranks in. Shell of himself, tough injury to recover from vs a potential producer for the second half of the season and target for Wenz.

Edit: My bad I see Jeffery as WR #183 as of today

FBG's are really low on him. Given how bad the WR situation is, I think he could make an impact

Alshon Jeffery (foot) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Jeffery returned to practice for the first time last week, suggesting he's getting close to a return from Lisfranc surgery. The Eagles badly need Jeffery with Jalen Reagor (thumb) and Dallas Goedert (ankle) on I.R., and DeSean Jackson (hamstring) now DNP.

Sep 30, 2020, 8:03 PM ET

I am trying to figure out if he is a worthwhile stash. I picked him up but with injuries and JuJu being out might have to drop him  for a body to play this weekend. Almost tempted to drop Shepard because the Giants offense has been brutal thus far but I think he will be back by week 6.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) was downgraded to "DNP" for Thursday's practice after being "limited" on Wednesday.

Uh oh. This might just be rep management for a player returning from serious injury, but it's a bad sign, especially in the context of Greg Ward quite literally being the Eagles' only healthy wideout. Jeffery's status will be updated with the release of Friday's injury report, but even if he's given the go-ahead, he will be a zero-ceiling WR4.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

The Eagles have limited Jeffery to individual drills since his late September return to practice. Jeffery would likely need to get in a full session to have a chance at playing this week.

Alshon Jeffery (illness) is out for Week 5 against the Steelers.

Jeffery has a "non-COVID illness" that has kept him away from the team in recent days. DeSean Jackson (hamstring) remains up in the air for Week 5. Greg Ward, John Hightower, Zach Ertz, and Miles Sanders will again be tasked with carrying the offense against Pittsburgh. Jeffery's 2020 debut will have to wait until Week 6 at the earliest.

In my 12 team PPR dynasty league with 25 man rosters, Alshon sits on waivers and has been dropped by 3 different people so far this year.

If you have the room I think he is worth a stash if you need him this season but I would do what @apalmer did if I need a bye week/Covid fill-in.  I am surprised he is out there with 25 man rosters although since it is a dynasty league people are probably holding on to a bunch of potential future assets that have little or no value right now.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (foot) was limited at Thursday's practice.

Jeffrey missed Week 5 against Pittsburgh with a non-COVID illness. He has yet to take a snap this season after offseason foot surgery. He's only a stash in deeper leagues since Travis Fulgham and Greg Ward have seemingly established themselves as starters in Philly's offense.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) won't play in Week 6 against the Ravens.

DeSean Jackson (hamstring) has also been ruled out. Had the Eagles been wise and simply placed Jeffery on the team's PUP list to start the year, the team would have had an additional roster spot to toy with for one more week. The team will instead depend on Travis Fulgham, John Hightower and Greg Ward yet again in a nightmarish matchup opposite Baltimore's secondary.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) remained "limited" in Tuesday's practice.

Jeffery's status for Thursday evening's game against the Giants is unclear. If by some miracle Jeffery finally makes a 2020 appearance, he will be well off the fantasy radar, especially since DeSean Jackson (hamstring) is returning this week.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Giants.

Jeffery will miss his fifth straight game since returning to practice. This was expected given he still hasn't advanced past individual drills. The Eagles are getting back RT Lane Johnson (ankle) and DeSean Jackson (hamstring) this week. Jeffery could be targeting a return after Philly's Week 9 bye.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

30-year-old Jeffery hasn't practiced this week after getting in some limited sessions ahead of Week 7. We will let you know if it seems like Jeffery might ever play on a Sunday again.

Alshon Jeffery (foot) was ruled out for Week 8 against the Cowboys.

Jeffery is dealing with a nagging lisfranc foot injury and the Eagles have no incentive to play him with better, younger receivers on the roster. Even if he gets activated, Jeffery is likely looking at the No. 3 or No. 4 role behind Jalen Reagor and Travis Fulgham.

Oct 30, 2020, 7:10 PM ET

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Eagles WR Alson Jeffery (foot) is expected to be a full participant in practice next week ahead of the Eagles' Week 10 game against the Giants.

Jeffery will likely make his 2020 debut in Week 10 but it will be as the No. 3 receiver behind Travis Fulgham and first-round receiver Jalen Reagor. Dallas Goedert also projects for a larger role than Jeffery. Fulgham's breakout and Reagor's presumed talent make an aging Jeffery mostly obsolete for a healthy Eagles team.
