ESPN Chiefs reporter Adam Teicher believes Knile Davis could get the majority of red-zone snaps this week.

Charcandrick West will get the first chance to replace Jamaal Charles, but the Chiefs prefer Davis on power runs and in short-yardage. Kansas City’s backfield situation is more a downgrade to West than a reason to play Davis this week. Davis is a touchdown-dependent RB3 against Minnesota's underrated run defense.

Chiefs RB Knile Davis believes he's improved as a pass catcher.

Davis hasn't been in the news since the Chiefs failed to find a trade partner for their No. 4 running back. Either way, coach Andy Reid has been impressed with Davis' work ethic this summer. "When he first came here, (catching passes) wasn’t the strength of his game," Reid said. "(But) he works like crazy. No one works harder than Knile." There's still a decent chance Davis will be on someone else's roster come Week 1.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports Chiefs KR/RB Knile Davis is still available for trade.
Davis has been on the block since before the draft, but the Chiefs haven't gotten any takers. That's probably unlikely to change over the next week when rosters need to be trimmed to 53. With rookie WR Tyreek Hill taking over as the Chiefs' return man and Davis not a factor on offense, his days in Kansas City are numbered. Davis turns 25 in October and has one year left on his deal.

Jets waived RB Knile Davis.
Were you even aware Davis was a Jet? Well now he's not. The Jets are the third team to give up on Davis in three weeks, and second in 36 hours. Gang Green did Davis dirty, but the fact is, he was never going to last long in New York. Davis is in the process of washing out of the league.
