Karlos Williams, RB (BUF) (2 Viewers)

Wonder if this says anything at all about status of Deangelo's knee.

Don't think it's anything more than what it appears/has been mentioned:  Steelers had him in for a visit a while ago, Bell is a bit prone to injuries, knee issues aside Williams is still 33, and I think both Bell and Williams are off contract in '17.  Plus, we saw what happened a year ago come playoff time(they were down to Frenchy as their starting RB).

Maybe not an optimal landing spot short-term, but it's tough to get to bent out of shape about long-term prospects since it could involve that offense.  Even if he just ends up sticking on their PS and winds up nothing more than a backup to Bell in '17 there's value in that.

It probably doesn't hurt that Karlos' brother is on the team, likely advocating for him, either.

Was actually hoping Pitt would get him on a 2 year deal on active roster knowing Bell/Deangelos contracts are up. Never too late. Plus I think he would end up an exclusive rights FA with it only being his second year in the league.

(FFChamps) Williams' contract is expiring this offseason, making him a free agent. If Pittsburgh elects against re-signing the 33-year-old running back, they will be in need of a backup for Le'Veon Bell. As Bell is prone to injury and off the field issues that result in suspensions, Pittsburgh's No. 2 running back must have the ability to effectively fill the void in the event the former is sidelined. Expect the Steelers to address the position of need in the draft.

Analysis: Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette does not expect the team to re-sign running back DeAngelo Williams this offseason.

Steelers add RB Knile Davis
Depth behind Bell

The Steelers pierced their relative silence in free agency by signing two backups - cornerback Coty Sensabaugh and halfback Knile Davis. Davis, 25, rushed for 805 yards over the past four seasons with two teams; he had a 3.2-yard average per carry. He also has returned kickoffs. (Pittsburgh Post Gazette)

FFToday's Take: DeAngelo Williams still remains available on the free agent market but for the time being Davis, Fitzgerald Toussaint, Roosevelt Nix and Trey Williams are the RBs on the roster behind Le'Veon Bell
no mention of karlos.

(RotoWire) Williams could still re-sign with the Steelers if he decides to play another season, ESPN.com reports.

Analysis: The 33-year-old unrestricted free agent hasn't commented on whether he plans to continue playing, but he also hasn't hinted toward any intention of retiring. Coming off an injury-plagued season in which he averaged only 3.5 yards per carry in nine games, Williams doesn't seem to be drawing much attention from other teams. The Steelers recently signed Knile Davis to boost their backfield depth, but the new addition doesn't necessarily preclude Williams from returning, as Davis owns a career YPC of just 3.2 and has done his best work as a kick returner. Should he ultimately return to Pittsburgh for another season, Williams would mostly have value as a handcuff for Le'Veon Bell owners. However, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette believes Williams is unlikely to re-sign.

That's the wrong Williams.

Wouldn't surprise me if he never played NFL football again
NEWS ARTICLES > KARLOS WILLIAMS SUSPENDED LONG-TERM

PUBLISHED WED JUN 28 6:30:05 P.M. ET 2017

(fantasypros) ESPN's Field Yates is reporting free agent running back Karlos Williams has been suspended by the NFL for a "period of at least" one year.

Analysis: It is unknown on what exactly Williams is suspended for, but it is likely due to a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. He served a four-game ban at the start of the 2016 season as a result of a similar violation for marijuana. His NFL career moving forward is in severe doubt.

I have a fair amount of woulda, coulda shoulda moments in my life.

I can't imagine what Karlos Williams will think when he looks back in ten or twenty years and thinks of 2015 and what could have been.

Guy could have had intergenerational wealth. He may have made 600K off of football and has very few marketable skills.
My mistakes don't feel too damning at the moment.
