Just curious, Jayrod, are religious Jews, Muslims and Mormons totally ignorant about God as well? Is knowledge of God restricted only to Protestant Christians?
of course, people like Jayrod claim to not know or fully understand god....but they know enough that you're going to hellJust curious, Jayrod, are religious Jews, Muslims and Mormons totally ignorant about God as well? Is knowledge of God restricted only to Protestant Christians?
What a silly question.Just curious, Jayrod, are religious Jews, Muslims and Mormons totally ignorant about God as well? Is knowledge of God restricted only to Protestant Christians?
Is it? I'm surrounded by religious Protestants who have a healthy respect for the religious beliefs of others. I read about this hostility by Protestants towards other religions, including other Christian sects, on the internet and it always surprises me because I never encounter it in real life. And I've had some pretty long discussions with my family's Lutheran minister about this very issue.RedmondLonghorn, on 15 May 2015 - 6:32 PM, said:What a silly question.timschochet, on 15 May 2015 - 6:27 PM, said:Just curious, Jayrod, are religious Jews, Muslims and Mormons totally ignorant about God as well? You live in California. So...duh.And it isn't all Protestants, it is generally Evangelical Protestants and "non-denominational" Evangelicals. Is it? Lots is a relative term. I know there are quite a few in inland Orange County, but it is nothing like the Bible belt.Lots of evangelicals in California- especially in Orange County where I live.Of course, I don't hang around them as much as I do the Lutherans in my family.RedmondLonghorn, on 15 May 2015 - 6:40 PM, said:

Guys obviously he is new to the board or he would have never posted that. What he did is called witnessing it something Christians are suppose to do.Some are not as pushy as others he sounds like a Jehovah if you ask me just trying to reach as many as he could.Anyway not a good idea on this board.I believe in God and also Jesus but I can never belong to an organized church because of their beliefs which I don't think coincides with Gods.So according to them I am going to hell I don't believe that either.I think my biggest disagreement with most so called church folks is if an ax murdering child rapist accept the lord even on his death bed he goes to heaven. Now if 2 gay folks who have lived a good life never hurt anyone gone to church and believes in God they go to hell no matter what because they are an abomination thats a croc and I don't think the Lord works that way.No I am not gay nttiawwt.
Anyone who goes to hell goes there for one reason: They have rejected Jesus Christ's free gift of salvation and that He died on the cross and rose from the dead for their sins. Just for the record, I am NOT a Jehovah's Witness and Witnessing has nothing to do with my salvation. I tell you the Gospel because it is my calling from the Lord. I don't want anyone to go to hell. If you will take the time to read this first post, it will tell you how to get to heaven. Also, church has nothing to do with salvation. God will save gay people if they will simply place their faith in Jesus Christ and turn to Him for salvation, believing in their heart that He died on the cross and rose from the dead for their sins. Yes, being gay is a sin, but so is sex outside of marriage and I know that plenty of Christians have done that. Submit your heart and life of Jesus Christ and He will save you.
Well I can tell you this Southern baptist do not subscribe to what you just said.So I am going to live my life as I have and I will lay odds(oops just sinned not supposed to gamble) that when its all said and done I will end up where I belong which is heaven because I believe in the lord and also Jesus.Another thing I don't believe is those of the Jewish faith will be condemned to hell as long as they believe in God.Which is the same God Christians believe in. Thats what organized religion would have you believe that they as a faith are condenmed.Listen Christianity did not start with organized religion.Man started that.Anyway I'm done usually don't get involved in many threads at all.Unless its about that great upstanding pillar of the community FSU grad Winston.Guys obviously he is new to the board or he would have never posted that.

I'm one step closer. I'm a hopeful agnostic.I'm agnostic. I hopeMaybeGod exists, maybe he doesn't. If he comes up to me and introduces himself, I'll believe in him. Until then, I'm a skeptic.
But that's not what the Bible says. The Bible says that only those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in their heart that He died on the cross and rose from the dead will be saved.Just one more thing. Then I will stop. The holy trinity. The son the lord and the holy ghost . I believe are all the same thing the lord. That is my belief. That is why Believers in Judaism will go to heaven as long as they believe in the Lord and live a good life. Also I feel
believe it or not people of the Muslim faith will also go as long as they believe in their lord Alah who if I am not mistaken is basically the same God as the two other major religions.Of course they need to quit blowing things up,but those arn't the ones living a good life anyway.
Yep, and the Bible is a piece of fiction. If you want to quote it is fact, use all of it as fact. We'll sit back and laugh as you walk it back. Silly people. But that's not what the Bible says. No, it's backed up by history, science, logic and intellectual reasoning. You must not know about the non Biblical historical writings of Christ.Yep, and the Bible is a piece of fiction. Please provide me with one shred of historical evidence that exists from the supposed time of Jesus Christ. Nothing exists. No records from Pilate, not a peep from his contemporaries. Nothing until 70 years later. If a miracle worker existed surely someone from his lifetime would have said something about it. in fact, there would have been all kinds of stories documenting these miracles, yet history is silent. Study Christian history, and educate yourself. Consider how your bible was scrutinized and edited thousands of times to conform to the ruling church of the time. It has been edited thousands of times since then to get to where it is now. Yet you accept it as the literal word of god. SMH....Man made, and exploited for political power, yet millions are still oblivious. Stunning. No, it's backed up by history, science, logic and intellectual reasoning. You started the thread, you are certainly free to expound, or do you believe that would detract from the original news of salvation you opened with? Certainly taking Jesus into one's heart and accepting him as one's Lord and Savior would require some familiarity and acquaintance with his story, if not with the god/man himself. No, it's backed up by history, science, logic and intellectual reasoning. Old Dennis Miller joke:Very convincing. I'm gonna go get born again.
Likewise, I found The Three Little Pigs to be completely pedantic and implausible -- complete and total bull#### as you would say. The Old Lady Who Lives in a Shoe on the other hand is profound, deep, and IMO contains the perfect blueprint for how we should all live our lives.Jayrod said:I don't consider someone raised Catholic to be informed about anything when it comes to God. I'd agree that Catholicism is complete and total bull####, but its not God. You rejecting that isn't really rejecting God, because that's not Him.
So your God would banish a good person to external damnation just because they don't believe in him or never heard of him? Swell guy that God of yours. Thought it was going to be this oneThis is the last 9 minutes of Carlin's final stand up special. Amazing. He had it right up to the very end.
Nope. One thing at a time. It was asserted that there wasn't any historical evidence for Jesus Christ and I just blew that out of the water. Secondly, muhammad merely copied and twisted the stories of the bible to fit his agenda. Unlike the Bible, the quran contradicts actual eyewitness testimony and secular historians of Christ's day. It wasn't written until hundreds of years AFTER the events and contradicts the actual eyewitness accounts of those who were ACTUALLY there. Think about it. Do you really think some guy named muhammad, born hundreds of years after the events knows more about the events than the people who were actually there? It's like someone today writing a book and claiming that George Washington wasn't really President and that they know more than the historians of Washington's day. It's ridiculous and it's what muhammad did. The only reason islam spread as it did was because of murder, rape, enslavement, torture, ect. It's actually a very satanic religion at it's core.Paddington, there's historical evidence for Muhammad as well. Do you believe he was the Last Prophet and that the Qu'run is the word of God? If not why not?
The funny thing is that I don't see anyone in that list you posted as being a contemporary of Christ.Nope. One thing at a time. I'd say it's generally born-again christians who have done awful stuff earlier in their lives and are now dealing with it by tricking themselves into thinking they're better than everyone else. You live in California. So...duh.And it isn't all Protestants, it is generally Evangelical Protestants and "non-denominational" Evangelicals. Is it? I'm surrounded by religious Protestants who have a healthy respect for the religious beliefs of others. I read about this hostility by Protestants towards other religions, including other Christian sects, on the internet and it always surprises me because I never encounter it in real life. And I've had some pretty long discussions with my family's Lutheran minister about this very issue.RedmondLonghorn, on 15 May 2015 - 6:32 PM, said:
