Same. The songs take me back to my childhood which was good but not great. Reminds me of being in the car with my family and these songs playing on the radio. Maybe because it feels like forever ago and yesterday as well? Scary how quickly those decades have gone by.70s soft rock was never my thing but over the last 10 years I’ve really come to appreciate it.
Love that tune, but I think it was in the late 60's. Share the Land was a 1970's tune."These Eyes" The Guess Who
Add With your love and Runaway to that list.Hated Jefferson Starship since I was a teen until I found myself really listening to Count on Me last year. I really like the Marty Balin stuff
Slightly more romantic than "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".
He was a bit of a theme on a recent Family Guy episode70s soft rock was never my thing but over the last 10 years I’ve really come to appreciate it.
Sentimental Lady - Bob Welch
Another good one, very underrated Bob Welch era album, Mystery to Mewikkidpissah said:Hypnotized, Fleetwood Mac (pre-girls)
Her cover is better than Neil Young's original (in which she sang backup vocals).Nicolette Larson: Lotta Love

Good call. Their best song IMO The Night Owls just misses the thread, having been released in 1981. Produced by the one and only George Martin. This thread needs a whole slew of songs by Little River Band:
It's a Long Way There
Help Is on Its Way
Reminiscing
Lady
The Lonesome Loser
Cool Change
Yep, I stopped at 1979, but they had a few gems in the early 80's as well, The Night Owls of course being one of them. I am partial to It's a Long Way There as far as being their best, but you can't go wrong with either.Good call. Their best song IMO The Night Owls just misses the thread, having been released in 1981. Produced by the one and only George Martin.
I was a DJ back in the late 80s and that was the very-first song I played. I remember carefully thinking over which song I would start with so I love that song.Love that tune, but I think it was in the late 60's. Share the Land was a 1970's tune."These Eyes" The Guess Who
Jules coming with the-Thunder, lol.

They are very much of a hits band for me (most of the deep album cuts I have checked out did little for me), but most of those hits are money.LRB is one of my favorites of all time.

Her voice was something magical
There's been a million music stars that fall under the "Lost too soon" moniker. For me, there's no one comes even close to this woman and her voice. Richard had a lot to do with how ithe end product sounded to us. I've heard other singers he produced, and I can kind of see where Karen may or may not have been the grab-your-heart-with-a-thermonuclear-kung-fu-vice-grip that she was if she'd come along without him. But either way she's in my flip-able top three all time female vocalists.AXS tv did a segment on The Carpenters one day last week and I caught most of it. Karen had one of the greatest voices ever. So beautiful and distinct.
I know I’ve posted this in the past, but Paul Carrack may be the most successful vocalist so few people know.Ace - How Long - Freaking Paul Carrack
