WR Kenny Golladay, NYG (2 Viewers)

ESPN's Jordan Raanan believes Kenny Golladay could see a "slightly increased role" in Week 3.​

This is a wildly low bar for Golladay to clear after he logged just two snaps in Week 2 against the Panthers. It seems unlikely that Golladay is on the verge of returning to a role worthy of a four-year, $72 million contract, but the veteran wideout was understandably miffed about his limited usage last week. Fantasy managers shouldn't rush to insert Golladay into their weekly lineups, but he could be a fun play for the DFS showdown degenerates.

Kenny Golladay failed to catch any of his three targets in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the Cowboys Monday night.​

Golladay played just two snaps in Week 2 and was vocal about it, saying he "came here to play" and should be playing "regardless." Well, the Giants heightened his playing time in this one, rotating him as the third wideout with David Sills, and Golladay responded with a horrible drop on third down and his customary zero separation. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported earlier Monday that the Giants could look to just eat Golladay's contract and trade him to whoever would take him. Good luck. With Sterling Shepard (knee) injured and carted on the final play, Golladay may have to play more going forward. The Giants need Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) and Kadarius Toney (hamstring) to get healthy.

I don’t know. He’s almost 29…getting a little up there for a redemption story somewhere else. Not sure where he could go short of Green Bay where he would have a chance to be “the man”, and even in that scenario Aaron isn’t playing much longer.

I agree,but for a different reason. He's one of a very few healthy receivers. He's gonna get a lot of snaps by default and turn them into his best game as a Giant.

Giants HC Brian Daboll said it "doesn't look promising" when asked about Kenny Golladay's (knee) Week 5 status.​

From a performance standpoint, things haven't looked promising for Golladay all season. The veteran receiver exited in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Bears and did not return to the field, and appears unlikely for the team's Week 5 matchup against the Packers. Even if he was active, Golladay has been a non-factor in the Giants' offense through the first four weeks.

Kenny Golladay is pushing to play in the Giants' Week 10 game against the Texans.​

Golladay (knee) returned to practice on Wednesday and is on record saying he'll be "ready to go" against the Texans. The veteran receiver signed a four-year, $72 million contract last offseason to join the Giants, but has been anything but a meaningful contributor in 2022 -- even when healthy. In his first four games of the season, Golladay has caught just two passes for 22 yards on six targets and has run just 30 routes in his last three games per PFF. He can push to play all he wants, but whether or not the Giants have any interest in playing him this weekend is the real question. Given what we've seen thus far, even the most desperate of fantasy managers can fade Golladay in his Week 10 return.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said he's "optimistic" Kenny Golladay (knee) will play in Week 10.​

Start the parade, New York. Golladay hasn't played since Week 4, and has a grand total of two catches in 2022. He practiced throughout the week and should be able to suit up this week against Houston. As the No. 3 wideout in a run-first Giants offense, Golladay has zero fantasy value and should remain on every waiver wire outside 32-team leagues.

There's no logic behind it. No stats. No metrics. But I have a weird feeling here. Like Golladay is going to go off down the stretch. People have been dogging him for over a year now. Saying he's soft. He sold out. He got paid and then quit. That eats at a man. He didn't have to come back this year. He could have milked the injury like Michael Thomas and called it a career. He got his money after all. He didn't. He's out there. Maybe he sees what Daboll is doing and knows he can look good in the offense.

Again, no logic behind it. Everything points to him as a monumental bust and this is a big nothing that no one should bother paying attention to. But what if he remembers how to play.

Golladay wasn't doing much before going down with the knee injury in Week 4. He had two catches on six targets through four games. With multiple New York receivers out of the picture since Golladay last took the field, it makes sense for him to step back into a prominent role. Even as a starter, fantasy managers can ignore Golladay for his Week 10 matchup with the Texans.

This is his week,I can feel it. Indoors with a backup quarterback against a team he used to dislike.
I'll make a bold prediction:
7 catches
49 yards
1 TD
 
He was always likely to fail, it was pretty obvious to most Detroit fans. Very good hands, but simply could never get any form of seperation and lived largely off of the absolute bullets Stafford could throw into tight windows for him to make contested catches.
 

Giants released WR Kenny Golladay.​

The team will wait until the start of the new league year (March 15) to make the transaction official. Golladay, fighting constant injuries and clearly a few steps slower and less explosive than he was during his Detroit heyday, was one of the worst free agent signings in recent NFL history. Joe Judge's Giants inked Golladay to a $72 million deal with $28 million guaranteed before the 2021 season. Golladay was benched for much of the 2022 season under competent head coach Brian Daboll, catching six of his 17 targets, including his only touchdown as a Giant. Golladay, 29, will have to sign a prove-it deal with a team desperate for outside receiver help.

Obvious cut. Good guy and a class act, but his 1st year was lost due to Jones just not feeling comfortable throwing to him. 2nd year he had the mysterious back injury and definitely lost a step, and with his real lack of top speed he couldn't afford to. Hope he reunites with Stafford or goes to a team with a vet QB who knows how to throw contested catch balls.
