We have activated WR Jarvis Landry to the active roster.
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski believes Jarvis Landry avoided injury after he limped off the field with a left leg issue late in Week 7's win over the Broncos.
Just returning from a six-week ordeal with his right knee, Landry got his left leg twisted up late, seemingly catching it on the grass in awkward fashion. With time running out, we didn't see him again as the Browns drained the clock, but whatever it was seems to have been shaken off. Landry will have 10 days to get right for Week 8 against the Steelers. He was the Browns' most effective pass catcher this evening, but that wasn't saying much as he caught 5-of-8 targets for 37 yards. With Odell Beckham nowhere close to 100 percent health, Landry is probably the preferred PPR option right now. He will be a low-end WR3 vs. Pittsburgh.

Jarvis Landry (knee) was not listed on the Browns' final injury report.
Landry suffered a minor injury at the end of Week 7, but is good to go for Sunday against the Steelers. Landry will be catching passes from Baker Mayfield, which increases his upside. At the same time, the Browns are likely to limit pass dropbacks as much as possible in Mayfield's return to play. Landry has been excellent this season with a 2.34 yards per route run, and offers WR4 value despite what will likely be limited passing volume.

Could certainly be a coincidence, but he was awful Sunday. Several uncharacteristic mistakes. Given his history I'm not expecting this to impact his play, but can't rule it out yet.themeistersinger said:What do people think the impact of OBJ stuff on Landry will be? Normally you'd be thinking spike in targets, but aren't Landry and OBJ best friends? I think Landry can also be a little bit of a hot head - certainly not to the extent of the more extreme players but a guy with a shorter than average fuse. Any chance he's just going to pout on this news?
Jarvis Landry (knee) returned to Browns practice on Thursday.
It is the same routine Landry followed last week before ultimately suiting up and catching three balls for 11 yards against the Bengals. Landry seems nowhere close to 100 percent healthy, but with Nick Chubb (COVID-19) likely to miss Sunday's game against the Patriots, Landry is going to be needed for cheap looks. He is a desperation WR3 play in PPR leagues.

Jarvis Landry aggravated his knee injury Week 11 against the Lions.
Landry was in and out of the second half because of a knee injury he has been dealing with most of the season. "I think it is probably the same one, but I do not know how [significant]," coach Kevin Stefanski said. "We will find out tomorrow what that means." Landry has missed practice time since coming back from his initial injury, but any missed time this week probably needs to be taken more seriously.

Jarvis Landry (knee) returned to Browns practice on Thursday.
This is Landry's new routine. He had his first 100-yard game of the season in Week 12 after sitting out on Wednesday. He is presumably healthier this week following the Browns' Week 13 bye. Facing the same Ravens defense he crossed the century mark against, Landry is a palatable WR3.

Browns placed WR Jarvis Landry on the reserve/COVID list.
He'll join Austin Hooper, OT Jedrick Wills, G Wyatt Teller, G Drew Forbes, DE Takkarist McKinley, WR JoJo Natson, and Ross Travis among the group Cleveland placed on the COVID list Tuesday afternoon. It's unclear if the Browns will even be able to field a team on Saturday against the Raiders. As it stands, they'll be without all three of their tight ends, both starting tackles and starting guards, and Landry if they do.

Speaking Thursday, Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said that Jarvis Landry will come off the reserve/COVID-19 list tomorrow because it will be Day 10 for him.
Assuming he continues to clear protocols, and assuming Baker Mayfield or Case Keenum plays, Landry will be a high-volume WR3 as the Browns take on Green Bay this week. Remember when we could just write about things with confidence? That was neat.

Jarvis Landry caught 4-of-10 targets for 43 yards in the Browns' Week 17 loss to the Steelers.
Landry's 10 targets easily led the team on 38 Baker Mayfield attempts, but his 43 yards were second to Donovan Peoples-Jones' 76 on three grabs and five looks. Landry has just one touchdown on the year and one 100-yard game. He's nothing more than a low-end WR3/4 ahead of a Week 18 date with the Bengals.

Jarvis Landry said he has "put the ball" in the Browns' court in terms of his future.
Landry tweeted he has told the Browns he wants to stay, but he is confident in his abilities and willing to move on if things do not work out. Reading between the lines, it sounds like the Browns have asked Landry to restructure or even take a cut on the $14.3 million he is owed in the final year of his deal, and the receiver is not open to that. Landry struggled to a 52/570/2 line in 2021, but he played in just 12 games and was limited in most of those by an MCL sprain. If he hits the open market, Landry will have his fair share of suitors. The Browns can save $14.9 million against the cap by cutting or trading him.

Jarvis Landry is due $14.879M in 2022. At this stage of his career, he’s not a $10M WR. The ball really isn’t in the #Browns Court. It’s in his court to find a more realistic number to stay in Cleveland or test what’ll be a deep FA market.
Cleveand.com's Mary Kay Cabot reports Jarvis Landry's agent is meeting with Browns GM Andrew Berry to discuss a contract restructuring.
Landry will meet with Berry at the NFL Combine and, if Landry signs off, the two could come to terms on a reworked deal. The veteran wideout has a cap hit of $16.4 million in 2022. The Browns can gain $14.3 million against the cap by releasing him. Landry would have to agree to a considerable pay cut to stay in Cleveland but the restructure would give him a boost in guaranteed money. Landry made a social media post last week, saying he wants to stay in Cleveland but is confident in his abilities. The post made it sound like he was ready to move on. That would likely be the best outcome for both sides as Landry was horribly inefficient last year, averaging 6.6 yards per target en route to his worst season in the NFL. He will likely be looking for a short-term deal on a contending team once free agency opens.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Browns have given Jarvis Landry permission to seek a trade.
With the acquisition of Amari Cooper and his $20 million salary, the Browns are shopping Landry's non-guaranteed $14.3 million. If a trade partner can't be found, look for Cleveland to release 29-year-old Landry, which would clear over $14.8 million against the cap. As it stands right now, with Landry headed out the door one way or another, the Browns have a wideout duo of Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones with David Njoku back at tight end on the franchise tag.

NE almost certainly can't afford him, but somebody like Indy absolutely could. Landry is a very good WR, who has had some durability issues recently, but is among the best slot WRs in the NFL when healthy, he'd be a great compliment for Pittman. When Mayfield and Landry were both healthy down the stretch in 2020, Landry had a great run, putting up:The Patriots should send a 5th or 6th and thank the Browns very much.
Landry would make a great addition and do all the dirty work underneath.
Pats likely can't afford his salary
Jordan Schultz reports Jarvis Landry ending up in Kansas City has been a "consistent rumor of late."
Landry has been given permission to seek a trade, though it remains possible, if not probable, he is released outright. Signing Landry post-release would be the Chiefs' obvious preference for an increasingly injury-prone, 29-year-old wideout currently due $14.3 million in 2022. Were Landry to come aboard, he would fill what has been a huge, consistent need for the Chiefs in the middle of the field at wideout.

Browns released WR Jarvis Landry.
Landry was given permission to seek a trade after the Browns traded for Amari Cooper over the weekend, but nobody was going to take on Landry's $14.3 million salary. The release saves the Browns over $14.8 million against the cap. There have been rumors linking Landry to the Chiefs and Bills already. The veteran slot receiver will turn 30 later this year.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garofolo believe the Chiefs, Packers, and Bills could be potential suitors for free agent WR Jarvis Landry.
The Browns released Landry on Monday, a day after granting him permission to seek a trade. Landry, 29, could be a valuable third pass-catching option in Kansas City, while in Buffalo and Green Bay, the savvy veteran could be the second option in the passing game. Landry has always had the ability to command short-area targets. Over 123 NFL games, he's averaged 8.5 targets per contest. Landry would have intriguing fantasy appeal in any of the three offenses mentioned by Garofolo and Rapoport.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Chiefs and Saints have "expressed the most interest" in free agent Jarvis Landry.
The Chiefs have now been strongly connected to Landry, while the Saints make sense as a fit even with short-area dominator Michael Thomas already in tow. New Orleans needs 2-3 new sets of competent hands, and Landry can still provide that if healthy. If the money is similar, uber-competitor Landry would likely prefer Patrick Mahomes to the Saints' offensive rebuild.

Free agent Jarvis Landry has scheduled a visit with the Falcons.
With ∞ available targets, Landry would be a good fit for as receiver desperate of a team as you will ever see. The question for Landry and the Falcons is his health heading into his age-30 campaign. A famously tough-and-rugged player, Landry has been showing signs of breakdown. If he can stay on the field, he would figure to command a ludicrous amount of looks for a team without Calvin Ridley or Russell Gage for 2022.

JARVIS LANDRY WR, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT
Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reports the Browns will "try to re-sign Jarvis Landry and Jadeveon Clowney."
The news comes just after Cleveland restructured Amari Cooper's contract, freeing up $15 million in cap space. The Browns saved nearly that amount when they cut Landry ahead of free agency. If he does come back, it will be on a far more team-friendly deal. Landry registered a dismal 6.6 yards per target in 2021. His 570 receiving yards were a career-low by nearly 200 yards. Landry is still a solid possession receiver but he may have finally lost a step. With Cooper now in the fold, Landry would return to the team as a No. 2 receiver if he does re-sign. His fantasy upside would be limited but Landry will still be a safe bet for a few PPR points every week.

ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reports free agent Jarvis Landry wants $20 million per year.
The Browns released Landry earlier this month after teams weren't willing to trade for his $14.3 million salary. Coming off an injury-shortened 2021 and entering his age-30 season, any chance of Landry getting a $20 million per year deal would have to be backloaded with no guaranteed money beyond this year. Landry, who changed agents this offseason, isn't a lock to get half of that but could fall somewhere in the middle. The Falcons, Saints, and Chiefs have all expressed interest in Landry. The Browns, who saved $15 million restructuring Amari Cooper's contract, haven't ruled out bringing Landry back.

I mean, I sort of get it. He was pretty good NFL wise in 2020. He put up 72-840 playing through broken ribs, and some other stuff, in a very run heavy offense. When they needed him that year, he stepped up and made critical plays, even if he was an afterthought fantasy wise.crushedspirit said:HAHAHAHA
The guy has been irrelevant last 2 seasons, will hit 30 in Nov, and wants 20mil?
Maybe he's watched a few too many Cheech and Chong flicks lately.
Hey, nobody said he was bad, but a 20mil WR he is not. Cooper has flashed big play ability, and 5 out of 7 seasons of over 1k yards. Laundry has 3 over 8 years, so in terms of production, he's not there. Cooper is also 2 years younger, and Kirk, even though vastly overpaid, is 4 years younger.I mean, I sort of get it. I also get him seeing WRs who aren't as good as he is, getting big deals. Landry is better than Kirk, he's a ton better than MVS. Hell, he might be better than Amari Cooper. But, nobody wanted to trade for him at 14 million, so why would a team want to be quite a bit more, just to avoid parting with a 7th round pick?
Landry would be a great addition to almost any team, he's a master of doing the dirty work, and does everything but stretch a defense pretty well. That said, he's gonna have to settle for something in the 7-13 range, depending on how much situation matters to him.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports free agent WR Jarvis Landry will visit with the Saints this week.
Fowler noted that the Browns are still in the mix to sign Landry. The veteran receiver has already visited the Falcons this offseason while rumors have pegged Kansas City and Green Bay as potential landing spots as well. Where the Landry signs will come down to his asking price and desire to play for a Super Bowl contender. The Saints would be a rough landing spot for Landry from a fantasy perspective. Michael Thomas already has the slot role locked down in New Orleans and the team played extremely run-heavy in 2021. He would be nothing more than a WR4 in PPR leagues if the Saints are his choice.

The Ravens have "expressed interest" in signing free agent Jarvis Landry.
The Ravens passed on adding a receiver in the draft, leaving them with James Proche in the slot behind Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay. Signing Landry would provide a veteran starter opposite Bateman and a proven slot option for the Ravens. Landry's contract demands have prevented teams from signing him to this point. The five-time Pro Bowler would likely have to accept a deal below his asking price to stay in the AFC North.

Saints signed WR Jarvis Landry, formerly of the Browns.
This would seem like an odd fit on paper because both Landry and Michael Thomas are primarily slot receivers, but the Saints need talent so badly that the details probably aren't important here. This tampers down ceilings for Olave and Thomas quite a bit, while Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway have likely been pushed off the fantasy radar altogether. Landry probably belongs in the PPR WR3 conversation in New Orleans.

Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.Landry wanted $20 Million at one point.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Jarvis Landry's one-year deal with the Saints is "worth up to $6 million."
I’m wondering if it’s something they’ve seen of Michael Thomas.Everyone figured the Saints were in for a rebuild.
They must have seen enough from Jameis to scrap that idea.

As a Saints fan and one of his biggest critics……I’ve definitely seen enough to see a change in Winston. We shall see if he can build on a really good season before the injury.Everyone figured the Saints were in for a rebuild.

From what I’ve read, some of the underlying metrics on Winston’s “very good season” weren’t great. He was at his best when he was limited. Yep. Winston's numbers were a lot better than his play. He benefitted from a lot of bad defense and lucky breaks. I would agree that despite that, he was probably playing the best football of his career pre-injury, but that says more about his play in TB than anything else. From what I’ve read, some of the underlying metrics on Winston’s “very good season” weren’t great. Time will tell, but I’m not quite buying the Winston reclamation project yet.
