Conner is the clear lead back when healthy. People suggesting otherwise are trying too hard to turn backups into starters.
James Conner (ribs) returned to practice Wednesday.
Conner has missed the Cardinals' previous two games with the rib injury. Darrel Williams, who was back at practice on Wednesday, has also been sidelined for a pair of games. In their absences, Eno Benjamin has stepped into a three-down role. Benjamin has 27 carries and seven catches in his pair of starts. With both backs on track to play in Week 8, fantasy managers can send Benjamin back to the waiver wire.

Seems like an easy pickup to me. Pacheco doesn't seem to be anything special and KC is a pass first offense. He's available in one league. Am I crazy for hesitating to drop Pacheco in order to pick him up? (Also have Clyde).
Biggest part was probably the two pick-sixes.Back to the waiver wire? I don't know about that part lol .... if there is one thing I have learned this year is that these "beat" writers and fantasy experts don't know anything....
If he plays a lot and their offense stinks again, they will quickly return to what worked last week which was Eno Benjamin and the offense rolling to 47 points... Now I think that a big part of that was Hopkins being back and opening up the defense, and the Saints not being great on Def this year... the biggest thing to watch is if Conner plays any better, cause he has not looked great this season, and we all know he is made of glass
What does that have to do with the running game, and the offense scoring 30 points though?Biggest part was probably the two pick-sixes.James Conner (ribs) returned to practice Wednesday.

Thanks for the sanity check. Especially with Pacheco on bye, I can always pick him back up next week.Seems like an easy pickup to me. I was mostly just yanking your chain. I do agree that Hopkins seemed to make a big differenceWhat does that have to do with the running game, and the offense scoring 30 points though?Biggest part was probably the two pick-sixes.James Conner (ribs) returned to practice Wednesday.

So is Eno really "waiver wire" or will they still work him in?
You probably know as much as the jamokes over at RotoworldSo is Eno really "waiver wire" or will they still work him in?

I viewed Conner as a stay away in days this year, because I didn’t think he was anything special. I’m fine picking him up now when the cost is zero, but my expectations haven’t really changed (other than that my opinion of AZ’s offense has gone down considerably). I just hope I’m wrong and he turns it around

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said James Conner (ribs) will be a game-time decision.
This is the third game-time decision for Conner so far this season -- he played in Week 3 and went for 57 scoreless yards, and he was inactive on Thursday Night football. Even if he does play, that track record probably leaves Eno Benjamin with some FLEX value for Week 9. Conner has not returned value on his ADP with a 54/200/1 rushing line to date.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports James Conner (ribs) is expected to be active against the Seahawks.
Of course, Schefter does add that Arizona wants to "test him in pre-game warmups." Coach Kliff Kingsbury had already said Conner was a game-time call for what felt like the 10th week in a row. Arizona/Seattle does not kick off until 4:05PM ET, so we might not have final word on Conner's status when morning lineups are due. Even with six teams on bye, Conner will be more of a borderline RB2 than usual because of his shaky health and Eno Benjamin's solid play during his three-game absence.

James Conner played 72% of snaps in the Cardinals' Week 9 loss to the Seahawks.
Conner was held to 12 touches against the Seahawks but he was clearly the Cardinals favored back, with Eno Benjamin playing just 27% of snaps. Keaontay Ingram mixed in for 2%. This was a strong sign for Conner moving forward and an indication that he can be trusted in fantasy lineups in Week 10 against the Rams. Benjamin returns to being a contingent value hold.

James Conner rushed 21 times for 69 yards and two touchdowns in the Cardinals' Week 10 win over the Rams.
It wasn't the most efficient day for Conner, but the veteran running back came up with two key touchdowns for the Cardinals as they downed the Rams in the battle of the backup quarterbacks. Conners' second score, which gave the Cardinals a 14-point lead, came on a nine-yard score midway through the fourth quarter, which proved to be more than enough to secure the win. He caught three passes for 17 additional yards on the day, but Conner was mostly held in check, with his longest play coming on a nine-yard run. He'll be a volume-based RB2 next week against the 49ers.

James Conner played on 96% of snaps in the Cardinals' Week 10 win over the Rams.
Notably, Eno Benjamin played just a single snap. Conner accumulated his way to a productive fantasy outing, but that accumulation looks fairly repeatable if he's going to continue dominating snaps to this degree. He looks like a decently reliable volume-based RB2 bet moving forward.

Can someone explain to me why he is still even on an NFL team lol ?
James Conner rushed 15 times for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' Week 14 loss to the Patriots, adding six receptions for 29 yards.
Conner briefly left the game in the second quarter but returned later in the same drive, scoring on the following drive for the only Arizona touchdown of the game. It appeared as if Conner was headed towards the third casualty in the game after Kyler Murray left early with what is feared to be a torn ACL and DeVante Parker left with a concussion, but he returned to provide a solid fantasy day for his managers. Conner will look to heal up in time for a visit to Denver, where he will maintain back end RB1 status.
Dec 13, 2022, 12:18 AM ET
James Conner rushed 15 times for 79 yards and one touchdown in the Cardinals' Week 16 overtime loss to the Buccaneers, adding seven receptions for 41 yards.
Conner had a slow first half in what developed into a battle of the trenches. The Cardinals managed just two third-down conversions and one fourth-down conversion before the break before jumping out to a 10-point lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, highlighted by a 22-yard James Conner touchdown. Curiously, Conner was out of the game for one of the defining moments as rookie running back Keaontay Ingram fumbled a pitch with under five minutes remaining which allowed the Buccaneers to tie the game late in regulation. Fantasy managers can consider Conner a back-end RB1 for championship week as the Cardinals travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons in Week 17.
Dec 26, 2022, 12:50 AM ET
James Conner rushed 16 times for 79 yards, adding three receptions for 31 yards on three targets in the Cardinals' Week 17 loss to the Falcons before departing with a shin injury.
Coach Kliff Kingsbury wasn't super forthcoming on Conner's status in his post-game presser. We will hopefully find out more on Monday. Conner handled 16 carries to Corey Clement's seven before going down, and his three targets were the fourth-most on the team. Conner ran well with 4.9 yards per carry, although he didn't have complete control of the backfield as he's had in recent weeks. He will be an RB2 in a rough matchup against the 49ers if he can suit up for Week 18.
Jan 1, 2023, 5:08 PM ET
Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said James Conner (shin) is day to day.
Conner totaled 110 yards in the Cardinals' Week 17 loss to the Falcons but exited early with a shin injury. A day-to-day designation to start the week is about as good as anybody could hope for if they're banking on Conner being healthy in Week 18 against the 49ers. Assuming he's able to go, Conner would be an RB2 against a stout 49ers defense that should have no trouble shutting down whoever the Cardinals roll out at quarterback.

James Conner has been a Top 10 RB in Fantasy Points per Game in back to back years
And has been the #1 Fantasy RB in the NFL when Kyler Murray is out over this span
He now has the least competition of his career
But still goes as the RB28 in Drafts
Adam Koffler @AdamKoffler
James Conner got 90% of the snaps out of sheer necessity a season ago, are we really banking on an insane snap share and workload again in his age-28 season?
James Conner season-long props on @FDSportsbook:
Rushing yards - 675.5
Rushing TDs - 6.5 (under is -142)
So let’s give Conner 675 yards and five rushing touchdowns this season
That’s 97.5 fantasy points, or 5.7 per game on the ground
Better hope he’s the pass-catching back…
Conner is the most pedestrian RB to achieve significant fantasy relevance since IDK... Leroy Hoard? Who, FTR, I love (shout out @Leroy Hoard ).Alex Caruso @AlexCaruso

I'm not worried about the wheels coming off because he really never had great wheels to begin with, he's a jack-of-all-trades but master of none. Couple that with an almost guarantee of missing at least three games and an entirely new offensive philosophy on a team that, talent wise, is 100% competing for the #1 overall draft position next season and it is difficult to get excited about any Cardinal this season.Feel like Conner is going to be a good move in auction drafts. Either try to sneak him in early to get him cheap (before those who faded RBs are hunting for RBs) or drop him when the first tier of RBs is dwindling. I dunno, the wheels might come off this year but I see myself getting a few shares for the right price.

If Kingsbury were still the coach in Arizona, I think his ADP would be higher but with the new staff it's really difficult to get excited about Conner. Although that's par for the course with Conner.
