Direct Headline: Libs of TikTok says Washington Post, Taylor Lorenz responsible for 'unnerving' post-doxxing threats

Libs of TikTok creator discusses how WaPo reporter Taylor Lorenz published her identity and how it has impacted her and her family’s lives.....The woman behind social media sensation Libs of TikTok is "always nervous going out in public" after receiving threats following a Washington Post story that publicly identified her, and she holds the paper responsible. ...."I feel like I constantly look over my shoulder. Every time I have to give my name for something, my heart skips a beat. It’s unnerving...."

....Lorenz faced intense scrutiny for doxxing Libs of TikTok in the report, revealing her name, occupation, religion and where in the country she lived. The article even included a hyperlink that exposed other personal information, but the Washington Post removed the link after being called out by critics. Lorenz’s doxxing of Libs of TikTok came shortly after Lorenz's emotional MSNBC appearance decrying online harassment of herself and other women....

....Earlier this month, Libs of TikTok  – who says she is now regularly threatened – shared a screenshot of a Twitter user who messaged her that a "pipe bomb" was on her way and urged her to kill herself. ....Billionaire Elon Musk, who is in the process of buying Twitter, rebuked the social media platform in response, tweeting that it did nothing to protect her account from "death threats." Musk asked Twitter why they weren’t restricting the accounts accused of death threats and later surmised that the platform might be biased towards "half the country."

Fox News Digital: Do you hold Lorenz or the Post responsible for threats you have received?

Libs of TikTok:  Yes..... I now receive a tremendous amount, and it’s from people who actually now know my name. That already makes the threats more serious.

Fox News Digital: Do you believe Twitter is taking threats against you seriously?

Libs of TikTok: No. They only took action once Elon Musk called them out.

Fox News Digital: Lorenz cried on MSNBC about online harassment. Do you think the media takes online harassment seriously no matter the ideology of the victim?

Libs of TikTok: No. Media is of course always bias[ed]. No left-wing media outlet called out the harassment I’ve been receiving as a result of large leftist Twitter accounts accusing me of being a terrorist without evidence.

You can joke about this all you want, but the owner of LOTT has been receiving death threats, including threats to use a pipe bomb to kill her. Many of the death threats are coming from Twitter and no one there bothered to stop it until Elon Musk said something in public in the national media. Now LOTT's only hope for fewer Twitter threats and any kind of enforcement is when Musk finally fully takes over Twitter for good.

The Washington Post, which leans hard left, literally allowed Lorenz to post the LOTT owner's personal information and even more tracking information until they were forced to pull it down.

What's the pathway? We want you silenced, and we will use whatever means needed to incite as many fringe radicals and extremists to come threaten you and try to kill you.

Not much different than what happened with SCOTUS. Lots of people here in these forums are parents. You think they find any of this a joking matter? This about the safety and well being of their children.

Individual cases of teacher misconduct doesn’t = grand liberal conspiracy to groom children.

LOTT is now embroiled into Camp Ramah.

You are going to have a very hard time convincing parents that their kids aren't being groomed in camps like Ramah, designed to help educate children in multiple non traditional disciplines, when having their pre-teen daughters get cornered by "heteronormative assumptions" with a penis at night.

Creating the optimum conditions for situations like sexual assault, hazing and rape is not a "learning zone" for the families and children involved.

You cannot ask parents to pay good money to turn their own children into cannon fodder for a woke target rich environment for this kind of agenda. Then trying to run a purity test that any parent who opposes this insanity as basically a bigot is even more offensive.

When little girls are sleeping in camp, parents don't want someone with a penis lurking around inside that same room. How hard is that?

This is what they do. I’m sorry that you and other teachers are the latest targets of their crap. It’s really outrageous.

When you say you are "subtle" and then you banner up a huge Pride flag and slap rainbow stickers over everything and you wear Rainbow T shirts with LGBT markings on them, what exactly is restrained about that?

Direct Headline: Florida dad speaks out after school board cut his mic for reading ‘pornography’ books he found in district

The Florida chapter president of No Left Turn in Education, Bruce Friedman, discussed having his microphone cut off at a school board meeting while pressing the district on inappropriate books..... A Florida school board cut off a dad's microphone, saying that the content he was reading was "pornography" as he tried to expose the materials he said were in schools. ....The Clay County School District dad, Bruce Friedman, ...."These books are so vile that reading any excerpt that I captured will end this interview.....Somebody failed drastically in their mission to protect children....As soon as I announced that I was going to read from some books that parents… found in the public school libraries that are clearly pornographic, [they] had the mic cut off....."

.....One of the books the dad raised at the school board meeting was "Lucky" by Alice Sebold, which entails a story of a college girl who was raped and included details of the attack. The Destiny Discover online library software in Fleming Island High School and Orange Park High School in Clay County included the title "Lucky."

"I'm going to stop you right there, sir," Friedman was told. "Turn off his microphone, please."

"Why?" Friedman asked.

"The problem is, sir, that these meetings are broadcast, there are people at home that are watching it on YouTube. There are people that are watching it on community television. Are you going to listen? Or are you going to run your mouth?"

The dad was told by the school board that he would not be allowed to read "pornography" on the broadcast, as it violated the law.

"There are federal and state laws that prohibit you from saying the things that you're getting out to say on television. There are state laws that prohibit and federal communications laws that prohibit you from publishing these things to a child. You don't have the ability at this point to determine who's watching the television show. And for you to say, ‘everybody cover your ears’ just doesn't cut it," the dad was told.

Fox News Digital reached out to the school board but did not immediately receive a response.

Friedman also weighed into the current debate on Drag Queen Story Hour performers. ...."People are arguing about things like Drag Queen Story Hour, whether or not is it appropriate for children to learn that other kinds of persons and lifestyles exist," he said...."I saw this recently, so I'm going to repeat it. We shouldn't be asking whether or not it's okay for our children to sit in on a Drag Queen Story Hour, we should be asking why the drag queens want an audience of children....."

Direct Headline: Bus Boycott took planning, smarts

....“The Boycott didn’t happen by accident,” legendary civil rights attorney Fred Gray said during a recent interview. “It took meticulous planning and thought. It wasn’t something that came together overnight. It took discipline and smart people.”....Gray was one of the primary figures in that planning, and he served as Parks’ attorney after her arrest. The reality, Gray said, was that civil rights leaders, led by the local chapter of the NAACP, were looking for a place to make the most noise with a peaceful protest.....The atmosphere surrounding Montgomery’s bus line was perfect for producing such. Black residents had complained for years about mistreatment aboard the buses — of drivers abusing them, cops intimidating them, surly passengers pushing them around.....Numerous times, black passengers who had paid to ride were forced off the buses to allow whites on, and then were never repaid. Drivers often sped away instead of waiting on black passengers to board, a practice that led to the death of one black passenger.....

....Colvin’s arrest — a 15-year-old tossed in the city jail like an adult after being handled roughly by police — could certainly be used as a flash point to spark protests and a boycott of the bus lines. Legal action would come later.....But that plan was killed when Nixon discovered that Colvin was several months pregnant — the result, she says, of a statutory rape. Nixon and other leaders were concerned that Colvin’s pregnancy, no matter how it came about, would make it more difficult to get conservative church-goers behind the movement. And without the churches, there would be no boycott and no movement. So, they let the idea simmer and waited on another opportunity.....

....While it’s true enough that Parks earned a living as a seamstress, she was far from simple. At the time of her arrest in 1955, Parks was serving as the secretary of the NAACP’s state and Montgomery chapters and had been a civil rights activist for years. Her husband had been a protestor at the Scottsboro Boys’ trial in the 1930s....In addition to serving as secretary of the local NAACP chapter, Parks also was a member of the Montgomery Improvement Association, a collection of some of Montgomery’s most influential black leaders, and she headed up the NAACP’s youth leadership organization, working out of the Trinity Lutheran church....In those roles, Parks had become a central figure in civil rights activities around Montgomery, and she was within the inner circle of a group that included Gray, Nixon and other prominent black leaders....

....After leaving Parks’ home the night of her arrest, Nixon called Jo Ann Robinson, who was a professor at Alabama State College (now Alabama State University) and president of the Women’s Political Council. Robinson began printing fliers to alert the community of Parks’ arrest and to announce the idea of a one-day boycott.....That’s all civil rights leaders wanted at the time –— just one day of every black man and woman in the city not riding the buses. Just that one day would demonstrate the impact a long-term boycott might have, and it would aid in the pending legal action....

....Had Montgomery leaders merely given in to the relatively modest demands of black citizens — to not force blacks to stand for whites, to hire black bus drivers and not allow blacks to be forced out of the black seats on buses — the entire boycott would have folded.....But stupidity led to defiance and a determination among white leaders to stamp out any demands by black people who they saw as inferior humans. And instead of modest changes, the city was dealing with a federal lawsuit, Browder v. Gayle, filed by Gray on behalf of four female Montgomery residents and challenging the desegregation of the city’s bus system.....The case would make it all the way to the Supreme Court, which ruled on Nov. 13, 1956 — the same day Montgomery received an injunction from Alabama courts to stop blacks from car pooling to work — that “separate but equal” was just as illegal for busing as it was for public education....

If your opinion of Old Man Gekko is that he's a "bigot", then that's your opinion.

I don't agree with it.

Above, you'll ask why I'm posting an article about Rosa Parks. It's because Parks was not an accident. The Civil Rights movement at the time knew they had limited opportunities to make a public stand, and they needed to pick their battles and resources carefully. They had to harness the goodwill and compliance of the working class blacks around them, and it would require sacrifice. The leaders knew they couldn't try, fail and keep asking those every day black Americans to keep staying vigilant with more trying and failing on a large scale.

What does this have to do with the LGBT movement and voting block?

If you want more laws that are more friendly and offer more choices for LGBT's, then you need to have elected officials who support that in office. They need to win elections to be in a position to push forward that policy. They can't win those elections without votes.

Do you know what's a good way to lose votes?

Push extremism. Incite the majority of working class parents. Lend the perception of taking advantage of innocent children.

Look at the other example above, where the father gets his mic cut off by a Florida school board, who acknowledges that they don't want him to read from a book they themselves approved for children to read, because it would offend, having details of a graphic rape, and because there are "people who are watching it on YouTube"  Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

When parents are upset about things like this, where they have the viewpoint that their children are being intentionally sexualized, and if they are called bigots, like you called me a bigot, then that's a good way to lose elections. Lots of elections. And that's a good way to have elected officials you don't want in office. The kind that pass laws that are more restrictive than you want regarding LGBT issues.

Want a test case? The recent Virginia elections. Glenn Youngkin won mostly because he said he would simply listen to parents and line up his policy to match what most of them said they wanted. Terry  McAuliffe simply said parents didn't have a right to know what their kids were being taught. How'd that work out for him?

Calling parents who disagree with you as bigots is a good way to entrench them as voters for elected officials you don't ever want to see holding power. I post example after example after example after example. I don't require anyone agree. I state the information, I state my case, and I let people decide for themselves.

This response is far better than what you deserve. Your response is a blueprint on what not to do to engage other parents who disagree. They just disagree. We live in a society where people can disagree. That doesn't make them automatically as bigots.

Let's just parse this down to the core of this situation. You just don't like me. I post a lot. I'm a Conservative. I hand people their lunches on a regular basis. I've handed you your lunch before plenty of times. But when I do it, I raise the level of discussion. I don't do it cheap. Attack me if you choose to do that. You've done it before. It will not silence me. Just like cutting off the mic of the Florida dad above didn't silence him.

The Rosa Parks lesson is very clear. Those in a minority group have to pick their battles wisely.  If you want change that benefits LGBT and their community, then supporting extremist positions that angers lots of parents isn't going to help your cause. You'll say you don't think it's extremist. OK, if they do and they represent more votes than you, then how does that help your cause?

You might have "zero fear" about sending your own children somewhere, but you don't represent all parents. And clearly lots of parents all around America are angry about these issues. What makes your anger more righteous and more valuable than their anger?

And what is a bigot again? A person who is obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.

Does that sound more like me? Or more like you?

Be enraged if you want. It's your choice. Call people bigots if they disagree with you. It's your choice. Watch those behaviors push voters in a way that doesn't help your cause. It's still your choice.

You chose poorly. Attacking me doesn't change that.

Now there is a hard push to remove the word "groomer" from the modern lexicon. Which raises the obvious question, what happens when there is actual grooming going on? How can anyone talk about it? Or even begin to describe it?

Point to note, Gregory Foreman, aka Black Conservative Perspective, has said in the past that he's able  to talk about some of these issues and not get his videos and work deleted simply because he's black and that operates differently in a culture that promotes so much Identity Politics.

Here's what I don't have to assume - There will be a clear concerted effort to make every major platform that the radical left controls remove any context to possible harm associated with the transitioning process. I.E. like those who end up committing suicide.

"Let's not talk about the bad stuff nor let anyone else say it in public either" is not a pathway to helping someone to make an informed decision. But since so many of the targets are so young, it's clear the radical left and the hard edged portion of the LGBT community don't want those who can actually make an informed decision.  They want them vulnerable. They want them when they are easy to manipulate, just like the video above where the teacher targets 3rd - 5th graders.

You are ignoring the issue that it's entirely possible for the LGBT community to also be bigoted against traditional heterosexuals as well. LGBT and transgenders don't own the total market share on being smeared for their "identity"

The answer is the same - I'll just keep posting example after example after example after example and let people assess the information presented and decide for themselves.

Direct Headline: District votes to keep pornographic book available for children

Salem Keizer school district in Oregon has been in hot water after parents discovered that a pornographic book, Gender Queer, was available in the school library. The school formed a special committee, headed by a woman named Suzanne West, to determine if the book should be removed. West’s job description reads: “Crafting and developing strategies that support the district’s movement to become a more anti-racist and anti-oppressive school system.”

The committee voted last week to keep the book, which we’ll get into. But first, take a look at some of the explicit content found in Gender Queer:

WARNING - Disturbing Images From "Graphic Novel" Made Available To Children

It’s no surprise that parents have been outraged at the committee’s decision to keep this pornographic book available for their children. We obtained a copy of an email Suzanne West sent to one concerned parent. The email provided official statements from committee members regarding their decision and they are so unbelievably insane, you have to read them yourself:

*********

“The book will be necessary to keep in schools, to help be more inclusive and allow all students from the LGBTQ+ community to have a resource to refer to. In addition, the pages taken out of context do not represent the intention of the book and only served as an illustration to help provide understanding of what the author was trying to portray in their book.”

“The book expands on sexual orientation and gender identity which are both topics touched on in wellness.”

“It being a graphic novel makes the book more accessible to a variety of readers.”

The book “has won a large number of teen-specific literary awards and is an ‘Own Voices’ text for a marginalized community. Inclusion in the library of the three high schools meets the district's goal for more inclusive and diverse materials.”

“This graphic novel is very well done from a literary standpoint. It is an excellent example of a memoir, it includes many visual metaphors, it promotes literacy and accessibility through the graphic format, and it has modern language suitable to our students today.”

A “well written/illustrated text; important insight regarding gender identity.”

**********

“We think kids need to read about vibrators, #######s, masturbation, and chest binders for ultimate inclusion and a show of diversity,” is what the statement should’ve read. Instead, they mask the graphic nature of the book under the veil of “inclusivity” and accuse concerned parents of taking the book out of context. In what context is a photo of someone receiving oral sex okay to show children?

The individuals choosing to provide this book to children won’t even allow it to be read at a public hearing. How is a book considered too graphic for the public but deemed “inclusive” for children? Why do they want what they’re teaching our children to be kept a secret? Why are parents routinely shut down when they voice their concerns?

So a graphic novel "Gender Queer" is made available for children to read.

The defense for it remaining in school libraries?  "It includes many visual metaphors"

What does that really mean? It shows a graphic blow job and sex.

So when parents want to protest this book and read the contents at school board meetings? They are told they cannot since the material is obscene. If it's obscene then why are little kids allowed to read it?

Keep in mind, these are some of the same parents that AG Merrick Garland wanted silenced by labeling them as "domestic terrorists"

Go on, defend any of this. Try to do it. Talk some more about my "bigoted views" because I don't think my tax dollars or your tax dollars or anyone's tax dollars should be spent to show a 4th grader how to give a blow job courtesy of their own school library.

Direct Headline: Pennsylvania School Board Agrees to $300K Settlement in Lawsuit for Censoring Critics

Pennsbury school board officials used unconstitutional policies and bullying tactics to silence criticism of diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda...Last May, a solicitor for the Pennsbury School Board shouted down and censored critics of a new district policy during public comment time at a board meeting, screaming “you’re done!” Several of the targets of his wrath said, “see you in court.” After almost a year of litigation, the board agreed last night to settle the lawsuit and pay $300,000 in attorney’s fees and nominal damages.....

...In addition, the district has rewritten its public-comment policy to conform to the First Amendment and the federal court’s preliminary injunction ruling. It also abolished its so-called civility policy and parted ways with the law firm that was advising it during the time it censored comments, including the solicitor who shouted down speakers....“School boards across the country should take note. Rules for public comments must respect the First Amendment rights of speakers. If you are limiting which opinions may be shared, you’ll be held liable for violating First Amendment rights....”

A federal court ruled in November that several Pennsbury policies governing speech at school board meetings were unconstitutional. Those policies, modeled after a template recommended by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA), allowed the meeting’s presiding officer to stop speakers whose comments were deemed “personally directed,” “personal attacks,” “abusive,” “verbally abusive,” “irrelevant,” “disruptive,” “offensive,” “inappropriate,” or “otherwise inappropriate.” After an evidentiary hearing in Philadelphia, Judge Gene Pratter found ample evidence that the Board selectively enforced the rules to stifle criticism of its actions and members....The plaintiffs in the case were censored for attempting to criticize district policies, including efforts to promote contested ideas about diversity, equity, and inclusion. Marshall was once interrupted mere seconds into speaking because the solicitor objected to his use of the term “critical race theory” to describe the district’s initiatives. Critics of the board were cut off for addressing their comments to board members, while other speakers were permitted to directly praise board members and school employees.....

“Rules for public comment periods are meant to maintain time limits and protect each speaker’s right to be heard, not police which viewpoints are expressed. Pennsbury’s rules were so vague and subjective that the board could effectively shut down any speech they didn’t like, and that’s exactly what they did....”

...Under the settlement agreement signed by the board, the district must pay $300,000 for the plaintiffs’ attorney fees as well as nominal damages of $17.91 to each plaintiff, a symbolic payment acknowledging that the plaintiffs’ rights were violated. The amount was chosen because 1791 was the year the First Amendment was ratified.....

So the Pennsbury School Board were angry about parents criticizing the curriculum stated as regarding "diversity and inclusion" and then the PSB did everything in their power to make sure many parents were not accepted for their diverse opinions and that their concerns should not be included at all into the larger overall context.

This is just basic social and cultural terrorism in the most Beta induced passive aggressive way possible.

But this sets a specific precedent. Parents are fighting back and eventually they'll win.

You have to be completely stupid to keep threatening people's children like this. From a practical political standpoint, this is electoral suicide. Parents across the entire political spectrum don't want to see their kids targeted and then be told to just suck it up and walk away.

Tragically, and predictably, this will eventually end in violence. At some point, these school boards are going to push the wrong parents too far, and things will spiral out of control.

Here's an easy lesson for Team Blue - Don't enable the indoctrination of children and you won't lose so many damn elections.

No, the solution is a lot simpler and cheaper: Vote Republican.

Texas teacher on administrative leave after telling students to call pedophiles 'minor attracted persons'

I remember a time when you were laughed at if you said there would be people trying to openly normalize pedophilia.
Is this an attempt to take a crazy anecdote and broadcast it across a much larger group?

That’s literally what Libs of Tik Tok is. A collection of anecdotes in an attempt to smear a much larger group. It’s an anathema to those who value statistics and logical arguments.

If there is tens of thousands of these videos, when does it stop becoming anecdotes? If this was one or two videos, you may have a point. But we're talking thousands if not tens of thousands. Those are not anecdotes anymore.

If there is tens of thousands of these videos, when does it stop becoming anecdotes?
Get to "tens" first and get back to us.

Thanks for the response but I don't believe you. If we got to ten, then you would demand 1 million. Thousands of these things alone disproves the anecdotes narrative you want to push.

You guys call them that because you don't like the fact they're being exposed and your side isn't being cast in a good light, not because they're truly anecdotes.

Which videos are false?

There are approximately 3.6 million teachers in the U.S.

Let’s say there are 15,000 videos (would prefer an actual stat but let’s go with this for illustrative purposes).

So roughly 0.4% of the population of teachers have a video. Which would infer that 99.6% of teachers don’t have a video.

Not anecdotal? Basic arithmetic. And it’s very clearly meant as a smear tactic against a larger population. It’s right there in the name of the account.

Lets say there are 15,000 teachers and they have 20 kids in their class. Now you exposed 300,000 to their craziness instead of teaching.

How is LoTT smearing anyone? These ‘educators‘ freely and proudly post their values. LoTT just gives them more exposure.

Thanks, GUP. I appreciate your response. I always find them thoughtful, measured and well reasoned from your position.

I also would say that 15K teachers is still A LOT of teachers and that makes it far more than just anecdotes. The problem is that those 15K teachers are teaching 10-20 students PER CLASS, PER DAY for 10 months of the year, EVERY year That's is a lot of young minds they are influencing in a negative way and, also importantly, behind the backs of parents.

I don't think you read the article...this teacher was being sarcastic, she was mocking the MAPs term. It sounds like she is anti-woke and now she is likely going to be fired.

Most teachers aren't recording themselves. I know we are just using hypothetical numbers but when there are numerous disturbing videos circulating, you have to wonder what else is happening that is not being recorded and shared.

I agree, and they should be fired IMO. In some ways I don’t disagree with what Libs of Tik Tok is doing. The teachers bringing this on themselves, I don’t feel bad for them. The teaching profession at large, I do have sympathy for them. It’s a tough job, thankless at times. This stuff isn’t helping.

You guys sure do like chasing the laser around while they drain your pockets.
I don't give any money to Libs of tick tock and don't know anybody else that does. So I don't know what you're talking about.

Maybe if you started paying attention instead of listening to the talking points you might start seeing things for how they actually are.

I think you misread the article.
"Initially I was shocked and horrified when I saw the video," he told NBC News. "Then when I heard that she was trying to be sarcastic, I felt bad for her. However, when the district's investigation into this situation helped me understand the full story, I have no doubt that terminating this teacher is the right thing to do. Any reasonable person that heard the results of the investigation would vote to terminate her."
You'll have to explain what I misread. Honestly, I don't understand the lesson she was trying to teach and how it relates to the Crucible. Maybe she deserved to be fired for being bad at teaching. I did find this part of the story funny:
"Daniel Call, echoed the claim in a post to his Facebook page on August 31, saying Parker was "pretending to advocate a position she didn't actually believe in order to challenge the students in preparation for them reading the book The Crucible." He said his own nephew was in the class.
The video that many of us saw was missing this important context," Call said in the post. "I regret the negative attention that this situation has brought on this teacher and wish her well. I'm told she is a great educator. Still, the vote to start Parker's termination process was unanimous, 7-0, meaning Call voted in favor of firing the teacher on Tuesday."

eta: Actually, upon second thought, this teacher may have been two steps ahead. She was trying to demonstrate the Crucible to her students in modern times. She's obviously a pedophile and anyone who defends her must also be a pedophile. Daniel Call knows what's up. He'll burn her at the stake so long as he is spared. Bravo, this is a MasterClass!

Say you poll 1,000 random American voters and 600 support candidate X. Would you conclude that America has only 600 voters who support Candidate X or that about 60 percent of voters support Candidate X? Basic statistics suggests the later.

This is a significant sample and point to a larger problem that is a lot more widespread than even the thousand or so videos show.

It was an exaggerated sarcastic analogy to illustrate a point. I am not sure what the fuss is about once the context was provided by the students in the class.

Was she being sarcastic or was she trying to teach a lesson? She is making up excuses to cover her *** and for some reason you seem to want to defend her. Thankfully, the school looked further into it and unanimously did the right thing. No one is saying she's a pedophile or that anyone defending her is, but her comments show sympathy and a normalization of someone who would have sex with a 5 year old.

Her students are defending her and saying what the context was.

I'll trust the judgement of those that unanimously voted to fire her. Especially when one of the board members says, ""There were more things that the public may not know about that was included on the closed findings"

She was sarcastically telling the class that people who sexually desire children need to be referred to as MAPs, not pedophiles. This was part of her lesson on the Crucible, and has been described as a snippet of a larger rant against liberals. A rant built around a strawman because I don't really ever see liberals defending pedophiles or MAPs. As jon said, several of her students have publicly defended her. I'm not defending her as a teacher, I think her lesson was lousy and merely served as an excuse for her to inject her conservative politics,

Assuming she was teaching this lesson to 4-5 classes, there is a good chance atleast one of her students has been sexually abused. Ironically, her lesson on McCarthyism actually makes sense when applied to what is happening to her. Many people don't read past the headline so, of course, the school board was going to find justification to vote unanimously for termination. They know she is not a witch (liberal) but they will still hang her in order to not be viewed as a witch themselves.

tldr: The teacher tried to "own the libs" and it backfired in comical fashion.

I prefer officials who are open and honest. Making a statement that "more things the public may not know" is a slimeball move to insinuate some evil which can not be defended against. If they fire her, a public official should be transparent t about it.

The problem is that those 15K teachers are teaching 10-20 students PER CLASS, PER DAY for 10 months of the year, EVERY year That's is a lot of young minds they are influencing in a negative way and, also importantly, behind the backs of parents.
We could only wish class sizes were anywhere near those numbers :)
