Larry Donnell - NY Giants Tight End (2 Viewers)

If Julius is still out, have to roll with Larry for the playoffs that start this week. It is a great matchup at least.

Anybody else worried that Donnell's latest fumble, converted for a return TD by Jax in a horrible 1 point loss, could change his role in the offense? Tough time of year to be scouring the waiver wire for a productive TE. Heath Miller, anyone?

Yeah the problem is there are no productive TE's left on the waiver wire in most leagues, especially in TE 1.5 ppr scoring format. Maybe Richard Rodgers? Eric Ebron is another possibility.

Donnell is also still top 8 in most scoring systems. Other guys like Witten, Kelce, D.Allen, and Ertz continue to disappoint. Even Jimmy Graham got a big fat zero this week.

From what I've seen, he's too involved in that offense ...more than half the time trying to protect Eli. Unless I can get Reed or Sims off waivers (doubt it) I'll be playing Donnell.

Rotoworld:

The Giants are almost certain to retain exclusive rights free agent Larry Donnell.
All the Giants have to do is tender Donnell for one year at $585,000 to keep him. They'll obviously do so for a player that established himself as a pass-catching weapon at the tight end spot, recording 63-623-6 in his first year as a starter. Donnell's fantasy outlook for 2015 won't be overly bright however, as Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz (if healthy) and Rueben Randle project to dominate targets.

Larry Donnell - TE - Giants

ESPN New York reports the Giants "really like" Larry Donnell and "believe he's in the midst of developing into a very good" tight end.

Donnell struggled down the stretch last season, averaging just three catches with one touchdown over his final eight games. He's viewed as the long-term option at tight end and should remain a red-zone threat in OC Ben McAdoo's scheme. Donnell is a good bet to improve on his 63/623/6 line.

Rotoworld:

Giants re-signed exclusive rights free agent TE Larry Donnell to a one-year, $585,000 contract.

He'll be a restricted free agent next spring. The Giants are reportedly super-high on Donnell for the future. He had a breakout 2014 in OC Ben McAdoo's quick-hitting passing game, posting a 63-623-6 receiving line. Going on age 27, Donnell would do well to improve on those stats in 2015 while battling Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle for complementary targets behind Odell Beckham.

Rotoworld:

Larry Donnell is dealing with Achilles' tendinitis in his left foot.

There was concern when Donnell was spotted in a walking boot Monday, but the Giants are nonplussed. Per coach Tom Coughlin, it's something Donnell has dealt with since college. Perhaps he'll miss some more practices over the next two months, but he should be ready to rock for training camp.

Larry Donnell said he had a partially torn Achilles in college. Flared up last month. Said it's not serious but he's in a walking boot.

Larry Donnell - TE - Giants

Larry Donnell has shed his walking boot after dealing with Achilles' tendinitis this spring.

He's resumed training in Alabama and is expected to be a full-go when the Giants open training camp this week. Per beat writer Jordan Raanan, Donnell's Achilles' injury stems from college, which may be concerning in that it has never gone away. In his first year as an NFL starter, Donnell ranked as the fantasy TE12, catching six touchdown passes but finishing the season slow.

Rotoworld:

Larry Donnell has yet to practice at Giants camp while battling Achilles' tendinitis.

Giants OC Ben McAdoo said Wednesday that Donnell is "not quite there yet." Donnell is out of his walking boot, but hasn't been cleared for full football activities. The Giants still don't seem concerned with Donnell's Week 1 status.

ESPN New York reports Larry Donnell has "regularly been making plays" in Giants camp.
Per reporter Jordan Raanan, Donnell looks back to full speed after the G-Men thought he was "playing a little slow" in the spring as he returned from his neck injury. Donnell is battling Will Tye and Matt LaCosse for the team's starting job. Unless either Donnell or Tye has clearly emerged by the end of camp, it's a situation to avoid in fantasy leagues.

Signed with the Ravens.  Has the potential to be a fantasy starter this year?  or barely makes the team?  any thoughts?

I had an open roster spot so took a flier on him since the Ravens TE usually puts up decent numbers.

i grabbed him off the wire in a couple deep te premium leagues. If he pans out, great, if not ill cut him. Too many targets in Bal to not give him a look if you have the bench space and are thin at TE
