Alabama redshirt sophomore RB Bo Scarbrough will return to the college level next season.
Scarbrough is listed as a sophomore on Alabama's roster, but he is three years removed from high school. He was a member of the 2014 recruiting class, but did not enroll until January of 2015. We would not call Scarbrough as talented as T.J. Yeldon or Derrick Henry, but he ran through Washington in the semifinal to the tune of 180 yards and two touchdowns. He should be the primary back for Alabama in 2017.

Alabama redshirt sophomore RB Bo Scarbrough (leg) rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 35-31 loss to Clemson in the National Championship Game.
Scarbrough opened up where he left off against Washington on Monday, scoring on a bruising, graceful 25-yard run with several minutes gone by in the first quarter, then backing that up with a 37-yard scoring gallop early in the second quarter. With Jalen Hurts struggling to move the Tide through the air, the 6-foot-2, 228-pounder served as Bama's most effective offensive weapon into the third quarter. Then, it all came undone. Scarbrough got himself twisted on a run and was unable to return from what was deemed to be a right leg injury. Damien Harris and Joshua Jacobs would prove largely ineffective in his place. The severity of this injury is not yet known, but Scarbrough has already said that he will be returning to Alabama next season. Come 2017, he will be part of a loaded (and we mean loaded) backfield that will include Harris, Jacobs, B.J. Emmons and incoming five-star stud Najee Harris.

Alabama redshirt junior RB Bo Scarbrough rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in Saturday's 24-10 win over LSU.
In a game that felt very much like Alabama/LSU contests of past lore, neither team did much of anything on offense. It was actually Jalen Hurts who led Bama in rushing (he had 44 yards on the ground), but Scarbrough paced his fellow running backs with that modest 39-yard tally. He did manage a nine-yard touchdown run in the opening seconds of the second quarter. There was plenty of hope for a big campaign by the redshirt junior entering the season given the way he performed down the stretch a year ago, but Damien Harris has largely pushed him to the side during the current campaign. Scarbrough has yet to surpass 80 yards rushing in a game this season.
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline expects Alabama redshirt junior RB Bo Scarbrough to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft.
Scarbrough (6'2/227) won't be announcing anything until after the National Championship Game on Monday. Pauline writes that he expects the "floodgates to open" at Alabama following the title bout, with a number of draft-eligible Tide players expected to declare along with Scarbrough. For his part, the redshirt junior has rushed for 573 yards (4.8 YPC) and eight touchdowns on the year. He's flashed at times during his career in Tuscaloosa -- particularly during last year's Playoff run -- but failed to turn in a Derrick Henry-esque campaign worthy of Heisman glory. Expect him to fall off the spring board on Day 2 or early on Day 3 of the draft.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Alabama redshirt junior RB Bo Scarbrough will forego his final season of eligibility to enter the 2018 NFL Draft.
Scarbrough (6'2/227) was a five-star recruit coming out of high school back in 2014 and enrolled with much hype in Tuscaloosa. He largely underwhelmed at the collegiate level, though, outside of a monster stretch late in the 2016 season. This year, the redshirt junior rushed for a relatively modest 596 yards (4.8 YPC) and eight touchdowns. While Scarbrough has the strength to bust through arm tackles, he lacks the shiftiness of former Tide RB Derrick Henry and tends to lose some of his speed and momentum when moving laterally and making cuts. He also comes with a loaded medical history, having twice torn his ACL and twice suffered broken legs. In terms of draft slot, he could potentially see some late Day 2 interest with a strong evaluating process.

True. He could back up fournette. He's JAG. His best bet will be as a TD vulture, maybe in Carolina, NE, Detroit, or anywhere with a smaller back.
Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough's hand measured in at 10 inches at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Not only did Scarbrough's ginormous hand size impress, he also measured in with a pterodactyl-esque wingspan of 80 3/8 inches. In terms of more traditional marks, the Alabama NFL hopeful measured 6-foot-1 3/8 inches with a weight of 228 pounds. This is more or less what we expected, if just slightly under on the height front. Alabama had been listing him at 6-foot-2. In terms of his combine moving forward, we're keen to see how he checks out medically (he has a checkered injury history). Scarbrough was a player who underwhelmed us for most of his time in Tuscaloosa and we're viewing him as an early Day 3 pick at this juncture, though Day 2 will probably be in play.

Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough unofficially recorded 14 reps in the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Scarbrough (6'1/228) is a player whose lengthy wingspan -- in his case, 80 3/8 inches -- probably hurt in the bench press, but 14 reps is a respectable enough mark for the back nonetheless. While we aren't the biggest of Scarbrough fans, we're expecting sharp testing marks in the coming days. Medical checks are going to be of the utmost important for the injury-prone back.

Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough ran the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
We have our questions about Scarbrough in terms of his health and consistency, but we never had any concerns about his overall level of athleticism. His 4.52-second 40-yard dash at 6-foot-1, 228 pounds was impressive enough, but the back also demonstrated incredibly impressive work in his jumps, notching 40 inches on his vertical and 129 inches on his broad. The latter leap was tops among all running backs. If he can come through clean -- or relatively clean -- on his medical checks, he's exiting this weekend as a winner. He's pushing for a Day 2 selection, though one is far from a given at this juncture.

Cowboys selected Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough with the No. 236 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Scarbrough (6’1/228) was ticketed to succeed Derrick Henry as the Crimson Tide’s power back, but fell short of expectations due to injuries. He turned pro after a 267/1,512/20 career rushing line, averaging 5.7 yards per carry with only 21 receptions. Scarbrough fractured his leg at the end of his sophomore season and wasn’t nearly as efficient last year. He did test as an 86th-percentile SPARQ athlete with 4.52 speed and a 40-inch vertical at the Combine. Always a talented two-down runner, Scarbrough is arriving to the NFL about a decade late. His ceiling is a committee back and/or short-yardage/goal-line specialist.

Rod Smith looked good last season and already knows the system. The reports are confusing, they rave about him, but then in the next sentence they say he'll have a hard time beating out Rod Smith.
Bo Scarbrough suffered a hip injury in the Cowboys' second preseason game.
Scarbrough was getting an extended look with Ezekiel Elliott sitting out. He was having a solid preseason before going down, rushing for 31 yards and a touchdown. The Cowboys may stash Scarbrough on IR if it's more than a day to day injury.

Lions promoted RB Bo Scarbrough from the practice squad.
Scarbrough will work as the offense's No. 3 RB behind Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic. Paul Perkins was waived in a corresponding roster move.

He's certainly on the right team to carve out a Blount role. As a KJ owner, I absolutely hate this for 2020. Picked up Bo though that's for sure.Good sign that he was just signed to the practice squad a couple weeks ago and already is being called up in favor of someone the Lions had around longer. Scarborough was always a physical specimen, and he gives them something Johnson and McKissic don't.
He was always a long shot type despite his measurables and college pedigree, especially after going to the Zeke-led Cowboys in the 7th. And he's had injury issues on top of the low draft pedigree.
How cool would it be to see him put together a run now with the Lions.
Bo Scarbrough rushed 14 times for 55 yards and a touchdown in the Lions' Week 11 loss to the Cowboys.
The Lions surprisingly gave Scarbrough the start even though he wasn’t promoted from the practice squad until Saturday. He proved to be a physical runner and regularly managed to either make the first man miss or at least fall forward. Overall, Scarbrough (31 snaps) easily out-snapped both Ty Johnson (18) and J.D. McKissic (14) while commanding 14 of the backfield’s 19 rush attempts. Still, the presence of a scrambling QB in Jeff Driskel (8-51-1 rushing) along with the lack of a pass-game role will limit Scarbrough’s ceiling in future matchups. Scarbrough should be treated as more of a low-end RB3 despite next week’s good matchup against the Redskins as long as this backfield continues to show no real rhyme or reason on a week-to-week basis.
