[DYNASTY] Golden Tate (2 Viewers)

Golden Tate caught 6-of-9 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' Week 6 loss to the Patriots.

Essentially the Giants' only weapon, Tate usually found himself glued to a Patriots defender, but he managed a number of tough catches versus tight coverage. That was the case against Jonathan Jones on Tate's 64-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Still feisty, Tate is not the playmaker he once was. He figures to settle in as a low-end WR4 once Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram can get back on the field.

20 targets the past 2 weeks, He scored 22 and 14 in PPR over those two games, this will be game #4 for Tate with Daniel Jones.

We are finding out it sounds more and more that Shepard might be OUT again this week from the 2nd Concussion he suffered almost 3 weeks ago.

Tate should see another 8-10 targets vs his old team who likely know how he operates.

Should be another 5-6 receptions 60-80+ yds and maybe a 30-40% chance of a TD.

WR3/Flex all day.

Golden Tate caught 8-of-10 targets for 85 yards in the Giants' Week 8 loss to the Lions.

If you were going to create a 31-year-old Tate statline in the lab, this would be it. With Sterling Shepard (concussion) sidelined, Tate has been PPR eatin', going at least 6/80 in three straight games. Shepard's Week 9 availability is very much unclear. If Shepard sits, Tate will have some low-end WR2 appeal vs. the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

Golden Tate caught all six of his targets for 42 yards in the Giants' Week 9 loss to the Cowboys.

He made a sick one-handed catch on the left sideline in the first half and was pushed out at the one-yard line on the play, setting up an eventual Cody Latimer touchdown on third-and-goal. Tate has drawn at least six targets in every game he's played since returning from suspension and has settled in as a solid WR3 ahead of a tasty Week 10 draw against the Jets.

Shepard and Engram are both out. The Jets defense reeks. Surely this is Tate Time?

Tough call for me as I have one of those rosters with lots of good WR2/WR3s but no slam dunk WR1s. Going with Tate (and E. Sanders) over DJ Moore and DK Metcalf.

Golden Tate caught 4-of-8 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns in Week 10 against the Jets.

Tate took a short screen and ran through the entire Jets secondary for a 61-yard touchdown. His second score came on a pick play inside the red-zone. Tate's eight targets were behind Darius Slayton (14), but he made the most of his touches. With the Giants run game going nowhere, Daniel Jones racked up 40 passes, so gameflow was working in Tate's favor this week. Tate has been a solid high-floor play this year, but Slayton's emergence and Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram potentially returning is going to cut into his stretch-run target share.

Golden Tate snagged three catches for 33 yards and a touchdown on seven targets Sunday in the Giants’ Week 12 loss to the Bears.

Tate was checked for a concussion after taking a lick on a first-quarter punt return but was cleared to return shortly after. He and Daniel Jones were rarely on the same page, save for a miracle 23-yard touchdown on fourth-and-18 with New York trailing in the fourth quarter. Not much has gone right during the Giants' seven-game losing skid, though Tate has been one of the bright spots, recording either 80 yards or a touchdown in five of seven games since returning from a PED suspension. Even with Sterling Shepard (nine targets) cutting into his workload, Tate will remain on the WR2/3 map next week against the Packers.

Golden Tate cleared the concussion protocol.

Tate is fully expected to play on Monday Night Football against the Eagles. The matchup is a good one, but there are a lot of mouths to feed with Eli Manning acting as momma bird. Sterling Shepard will be moved back outside and Darius Slayton's target share is sure to drop. Evan Engram is also expected to make a return. With a lot of moving parts in the offense, Tate is best viewed as a boom-or-bust flex play.

Golden Tate (foot) wasn't listed on the Giants' final injury report.

Eli Manning's target distribution in his first game with all of the Giants' skill-position talents at his disposal: Darius Slayton (8 targets), Sterling Shepard (7), Tate (5), Kaden Smith (5) and Saquon Barkley (4). Tate and Shepard seem to limit each other's upside, and neither exactly has a great floor either regardless of who is under center. Treat both as upside WR3s against the Dolphins' miserable secondary.

Golden Tate caught 1-of-4 targets for 51 yards and one touchdown in the Giants' Week 15 win over the Dolphins.

Tate juggled a pass over the middle before avoiding a tackle on his 51-yard touchdown, one that nearly was stopped at the goal line because of an early celebration. It was the only time he was celebrating today, as most targets went Sterling Shepard's way. There are a lot of mouths to feed in New York, so Tate's floor is much lower than it was earlier in the season. Tate, however, does have a shot at a ceiling game next week with the Redskins on deck. He'll be on the WR3/4 radar.

Golden Tate caught 6-of-11 targets for 96 yards in Week 16 against Washington.

Tate led the Giants in receiving but was held out of the end-zone on a day Daniel Jones threw five touchdowns. It's even more of a letdown given Darius Slayton (knee) spent most of the game on the sidelines. Still, this was good to see after Tate had just nine targets the last two weeks with Eli Manning starting. Tate will be a WR3 for a matchup with the Eagles' burnable secondary in Week 17.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports Golden Tate (hamstring) "doesn't seem 100 percent."

Tate was practicing Thursday, but his participation level was unclear. It certainly sounds like he will be listed as "limited," though even "DNP" cannot be ruled out despite his apparent participation. Tate was not practicing as recently as Monday. Counting on Tate as your WR4 for Monday night's game against the Steelers is not recommended.

Golden Tate (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan said Tate "doesn't seem 100 percent" after watching him at practice this week. The limited practices suggest he'll be a game-time decision on Monday night against the Steelers. It's not a matchup to get cute with, particularly if Tate isn't operating at full health. If Tate suffers a setback, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton will be slightly more appealing as flex options.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports Golden Tate (hamstring) will be inactive for Week 1 against the Steelers.

Tate was limited in practice throughout the week and reportedly "didn't seem 100 percent" during the reps he was available for. Darius Slayton will instead earn the start with Damion Ratley and C.J. Board as New York's only other available wideouts. Fantasy players should consider benching every option for the Giants outside of Saquon Barkley.

Golden Tate (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Tate missed the season opener against the Steelers but is on track to play Week 2 against the Bears. It's not a great matchup on paper, but he'd offer some WR4 value in PPR formats if he's active. Tate's return could knock a couple targets away from Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard.

Giants WR Golden Tate (hamstring) did individual drills at Thursday's practice.

Tate seems to be on track to play this week against the Bears after missing Week 1. His presence in the lineup could siphon some targets away from Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton, but Tate would be nothing more than a desperation play against Chicago.

Giants WR Golden Tate (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 2 against the Bears.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added that Tate would be at full strength. Tate sat out Week 1 with a hamstring injury but logged a limited practice on Friday after participating in individual drills on Thursday. Darius Slayton took over as the Giants' No. 1 receiver in the absence of Tate last week. He led all Giants receivers in snaps and posted a 23 percent target share. Slayton emerging makes Tate nothing more than a deep flex play this week.

Golden Tate is a great PPR guy when he gets rolling. With Barkley down I see Slayton getting a ton of targets and with SS on the mend, Tate steps in for that WR2 role. He is perfectly capable of 7/70 type performance, you will not get a high ceiling but you have a high floor usually.

Even with Shep back int he cuts in the coming weeks, Tate is a special WR who finds ways to get open on 3rd down when they need 5 yards.

Other than Injury and the Suspension he had to serve to open 2019 PEDs, his numbers have really not come off all that much. People don't get excited over a solid 10-12-15 a week out of their Flex or WR3.

Golden Tate caught 1-of-2 targets for a 39-yard touchdown in the Giants' Week 7 loss to the Eagles.

All it took for Tate to finally do something was for Sterling Shepard to return. Of course, the one-catch effort was Tate's second straight, but what a catch it was. Being blatantly interfered with on the first play of the Giants' second drive, Tate won a game of hand-to-hand combat with Cre'von LeBlanc for his score. Tate also drew a 22-yard DPI on LeBlanc in the fourth. The Giants will take it, but it is not enough to return Tate to the WR4 radar in fantasy, especially ahead of next week's tough matchup with the Bucs.

Giants WR Golden Tate is inactive for Week 9 against the Washington Football Team.

The Giants have not technically called this a suspension, but they have all but admitted it is. Tate was making trouble on social media this week, and coach Joe Judge was not having it. Tate has made a few rugged, important catches in recent weeks, but his box scores have been anything but impressive. There has long been no reason to keep him around in any format of fantasy. Also inactive for the Giants are RB Devonta Freeman, OT Jackson Barton, OG Kenny Wiggins, TE Eric Tomlinson, DL RJ McIntosh and CB Brandon Williams.

Giants WR Golden Tate is active for Week 10 against the Eagles.

Tate missed last game due to a team suspension but will return to three-receiver sets with Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton. With the offense looking rough, Tate shouldn't be counted on in 12-team leagues. Shepard has operated as the go-to receiver since his return with Slayton mostly heading back to his downfield role. Evan Engram has been far more involved, to..

Golden Tate caught 2-of-5 targets for 44 yards in the Giants' Week 10 win over the Eagles.

Tate was unheard of outside of a deep sideline grab for a clutch first down. That has been the story ever since Sterling Shepard returned to the lineup. Tate can still pop for an occasional long touchdown, but he can be dropped in 10- and 12-team leagues as a low-target receiver in a bad offense.

Giants released WR Golden Tate.

This move was widely expected after a forgettable season that included a suspension and some on-field frustrations surrounding his target volume. Tate, 33, no longer projects as a sure-fire starter in the slot but could be a fit on a contender as depth. He's posted 795-, 676-, and 388-yard seasons since leaving Detroit in 2017. The Giants will be leaning on Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, Saquon Barkley, and offseason acquisitions in 2021.
