And he's been getting around six a game alreadyAllen is a favorite red zone target. And with Wayne on the shelf for maybe 2-3 weeks, his 9 weekly targets have to go somewhere. Nicks is flailing, already getting outpaced in snaps last week by the rookie Moncrief. But if anybody is going to get a nice bump in targets in the next few weeks,my money is on Allen.
Hey, I like him, but I just don't think he really qualifies as a favorite target. His good blocking also hinders his FF production. So on some level he might qualify as a favorite if you have some numbers for targets per route run, but he's not exactly getting a ton of targets right now. Recently he's gotten a few more, but recently Luck has been throwing a lot more than earlier in the year. And he's been getting around six a game alreadyAllen is a favorite red zone target. Dwayne Allen insisted his best play is yet to come.
"No, I dont feel comfortable," Allen said after missing the 2013 season with a hip injury that required surgery. "It was my goal going into the season because of injuries and not having an offseason to train for this season was to get better all season long." Coach Chuck Pagano agrees that Allen is still "knocking the rust off, so to speak." Allen has seen just 30 targets this season, but has turned that into a 21-305-5 receiving line. He's one of Andrew Luck's go-to guys in the red zone at 6'3/265. We're still truly waiting for Allen to be unleashed.

"Dwayne is like RoboCop, a big ball of muscle working the hashes and stretching the middle of the field," Hamilton said.

(The others? Rob Gronkowski, Olsen, Delanie Walker and Martellus Bennett).
I was thinking the same thing. If he would get more targets he could be a top 5 TE IMO. Unfortunately Luck is spreading the ball around a good deal. Great for Indy and Luck. Yup. He's 26th in targets per game for TEs, 16th in yard per game, and 8th in fantasy ppg. He's very good. Maybe they start to utilize him more in the second half of the season. I hope Indy comes to their senses and realizes he's a much better player than Fleener. Really, that's what is holding him back.Yup. I think they know he's better than Fleener. The issue is that they want to run a lot of dual TE sets because they're adamant about running the ball well.

5 1 6 3 5 7 6No Reggie Wayne security blanket for a couple of weeks possibly might result in a bump in targets. He's already a red zone favorite.
He has PIT this week, who gave up big games to good TE like Jordan Cameron (2nd meeting), Greg Olsen, and Owen Daniels.
The Colts believe Dwayne Allen suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday night's loss to the Patriots.
High ankle sprains can vary in severity from the kind that only cost Jamaal Charles one game earlier this year to the kind that can sideline a player for a month or more. So we'll have to wait for further testing results before getting a timetable on Allen. But it's certainly not a good injury for a supremely talented player whose career was already stunted by a severe hip injury in 2013. With Allen sidelined for the majority of Sunday night's game, Coby Fleener put 7-144-0 on the Patriots.

While were complaining I just traded Hyde for him a couple weeks ago, I started him this week while Donnell scored on the bench.Bad timing. Was holding him to cover for Olson this week. There's almost nothing out there, too, at TE.
ESPN Colts blogger Mike Wells expects Dwayne Allen (ankle) to miss Week 12.
Wells' assertion is based largely on the fact that Indy signed TE Weslye Saunders on Tuesday, but that's indeed usually a tell-tale sign. Of course, it's possible the Colts are simply giving themselves insurance in the event Allen can't go against the Jaguars. His status will be updated on Wednesday.

Colts coach Chuck Pagano stated Monday that Dwayne Allen (ankle) remains "day to day" ahead of a Week 13 game with the Redskins.
Pagano "doesn't know" whether Allen will practice this week. "He’s trending in the right direction but he’s going to be day-to-day," were Pagano's words. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on having Allen available against the Skins.
I own fleener and allen is on the ww. Wondering if I should drop fleener for allen. But you could argue they are both good options and who knows how healthy allen really is?So what do we do if we grabbed Fleener in his abscense and really enjoyed last weeks 30 point game?
That is my dillema too. Is it bad that I am hoping Allen has an ankle "tweek" during practice this week?Fleener owner. Was really hoping Allen would sit one more game but you would have to think they are going to be cautious with him this week. Probably get him back in the groove with 20-30 snaps as ankle injuries are noting to mess around with especially when you have the division wrapped up.
I will go back and forth all week whether I want to be frustrated with Kelce or Fleener in my lineup.

Allen is definitely more athletic and a better pass catcher. Just because Fleener happened to be left wide open on a deep ball doesn't mean that he's a better big play threat. There's no denying Fleener's numbers have been good 2/3 past weeks, but I don't necessarily think it's because Fleener is some stud that is on the rise.I own both Fleener and Allen and had been rolling with Allen pre-injury. Allen was very TD dependent but came through most of the time so it was no big deal. With a bad ankle (and possibly being on a play count), I'm staying with Fleener for the first week of playoffs. He is the real big play threat. Hopefully we all live through first round to re-assess this situation next week.
This statement is ridiculous. He isn't a high floor player at all, given how touchdown dependent he is. If he doesn't catch a TD, you're looking at the possibility of a very low performance.Dwayne Allen - TE - Colts
Dwayne Allen (ankle) is practicing in full for Week 14.
Allen will be ready to rock for Sunday's game with the Browns. Although Coby Fleener has played well the past three weeks, Allen's nose for the end zone means he's returning as a TE1. He's a high-floor, low-ceiling option.

Between Fleener, the horrible matchup (HOU 3rd worst for TE), and his possibly lingering injury, he's not startable outside of 20-team leagues. Even then, I'm looking at Quarless instead.Does anyone have any new info on Allen or what he did Sunday? He was in on 57 snaps while Fleener was in for 60. But just 1/5/0.

Dwayne Allen played on a season-high 85.7 percent of the offensive snaps in Sunday's Wild Card win over the Bengals.
Coby Fleener was up at a very healthy 75.4 percent of the snaps as the Colts ran their preferred "12" base. But Allen ended up with just 3-30-0 on three targets while Fleener recorded 1-18-0 on two targets -- and that meager production came on a day Andrew Luck attempted 44 passes. Allen remains a touchdown-dependent fantasy option heading into Sunday's Divisional game at Denver.

Allen and Fleener will be free agents after next season. One or both could go elsewhere. If one of them re-signs he will likely be the clear #1 tight end with little competition for a while. He almost had a TD on one of his catches. Was tackled at the goal line though unfortunately. I'd like to sell him in dynasty due to the depth I have at the position, but it's hard to get anything of decent value for him because of his inconsistency. I don't think there's any doubt he's a more gifted receiver than Fleener, but I don't know if Allen will ever be a consistent guy with Luck being so good and spreading the ball around.
Dwayne Allen secured 4-of-4 targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Divisional Round win over the Broncos.
The Colts' first big gain of this game was an 18-yard strike from Andrew Luck to Allen, who exploited a soft spot in Denver's zone coverage. Allen scored Indy's second touchdown from three yards out, boxing out Aqib Talib. Allen has been targeted only seven times through two postseason games, but has caught all seven. He is Luck's primary red-zone weapon.

Dwayne Allen shed 13 pounds this offseason.
Allen has slimmed down to 255 pounds after playing last season at 268. The 25-year-old is hoping the weight loss will help him play faster. Allen reeled in eight touchdown catches last year but only amassed 60 yards once in 13 contests. He's a touchdown or bust fantasy contributor sitting on the low-end of the TE1 spectrum.
