What About Pop Culture Have You Just Stopped Paying Attention To? Or If Not Pop Culture, What Have You Ditched?

For the record, two of my kids are siblings we adopted who are the same age as two of our biological kids. My bigger point is I'm around teenagers who are supposed to be up to date on the latest things, and yet I like the same things as I did in 2002.

What About Pop Culture Have You Just Stopped Paying Attention To? Or If Not Pop Culture, What Have You Ditched?

If I were to list my four biggest pop culture interests as of today, my answer would be the same as it's been for roughly the last twenty years: The Beatles Seinfeld Survivor 80s music. And I'm a junior high teacher with 5 kids between the ages of 16-21. You do the math.

*** OFFICIAL Amazing Race 36 Thread - Mostly South America Edition ***

Maybe it's because I guess I would consider myself fairly decent at rebus puzzles, but that challenge, despite the firewomen performance, seemed inherently way easier and much less time consuming than the breakdancing one. Maybe they had to go farther away to get to it or something to level the...

    Guilty Pleasure Movies

In college, we frickin' loved Ricochet. Denzel, Lithgow, Ice-T, etc. I haven't seen it in 30 years, so it probably sucks, but man I loved that flick.

Survivor Season 46 - Episode Eleven - Liz Surprisingly Has A Meltdown

To put it in terms that Ben would understand, Bhanu definitely does not rock.

    Disney Vacation

My wife and I are teachers too, and we've been fortunate enough to take our kids to WDW 5 times since 2010, and once to DL. But when I look back at what we spent on those trips, even back in the early 2010s, it's just insane. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't regret one penny we spent on those...

I just watched Peter Jackson's music video for the song. Brilliant.

In this thread I rank my favorite Beatles songs: 204-1.

I agree that it gets better every time you listen to it. The verses have a comparative quality to one of my absolute favorite late-period Paul joints, "I Don't Know", And, being Mr. Harmony Guy, those 2-3 seconds of some 3 part "Because"-like harmonies in the interlude have me all aquiver...

Posting this here since I can't seem to find the 2022 ranking thread. New Beatles song comes out next Thursday, so it might be time for a redo.

In this thread I rank my favorite post-Beatles Beatles songs: 291-1.

I was waiting for this response. I figured I should probably read all those words you typed. No, I'm re-reading the thread. And finding posts that I darn well should have liked the first time around and didn't, for whatever reason. So, I'm righting wrongs (Binky: wronging rights). I miss...

    Disney Vacation

Anyone gone to Disneyland this summer? We're going for our first ever trip at the beginning of August, and was wondering what we could expect crowdwise. We are WDW veterans, but newbies to DL. It was never in our plans to go, but we were heading out west, primarily for Grand Canyon and...

My 8th grade students are currently working on a project that encompasses the decade of their choosing from the 70s, 80s or 90s. One of the topics they have to cover in their writing is about music of their decade that they consider great, whether it be a song, album, artist, etc. One of the...
