Is that like saying "Between me and Warren Buffet, we're billionaires"?So we just won the whole thing…
I mean kinda but she played awesome for her handicap. Super happy for her.Is that like saying "Between me and Warren Buffet, we're billionaires"?So we just won the whole thing…
Can’t you just choke down?Anyone ever made the switch to a shorter driver shaft?
Its something I've been thinking about for a while, as I go through stretches where I just feel like I dont have enough control over it. Speed is not a problem for me and I have a pretty long swing (which doesn't help). And somehow, my brother....who is much taller than me and hits it much further...his driver (which I believe he just bought off the rack is probably like 1/2 an inch shorter than mine.
I just popped over to PGA superstore naively thinking that this was a pretty common thing (so I'd be able to hit one just as sort of an experiment) but no dice. I was even willing to bite the bullet and just buy a shorter version of my own shaft online, but you can't even do that. Seems like the only solution is to have one cut down, but I really have no desire to do that, not like it and be out $250. (since I obviously would have to buy a whole new shaft)
I might be able to convince her now to let me keep the pushcart in the mud room.
I wishI might be able to convince her now to let me keep the pushcart in the mud room.
Is that a euphemism?
Update: I failed.I might be able to convince her now to let me keep the pushcart in the mud room.
Not me personally, but a regular playing partner recently switched to the Taylor Made BRNR mini driver. He already kind of had a short cut swing with his old driver. He claims to like the switch. He still hits it probably around 270 so it doesn't seem to hurt him at most courses.Anyone ever made the switch to a shorter driver shaft?

So you still haven't golfed seriouslyWelp, went for 126 and lost 11 balls in my first full 18 in a decade. Forgot how expensive it is to be bad at golf.
still waiting for the call that they are in...I feel like days have gotten longer and time is moving at an all time snails pace while I wait for my new jpx 923 hot metals to come in.
So, in this same tournament series, we just played again and got second. Won another mortgage payment. So we just won the whole thing…
Calcuttas can pay serious cash. Guy at our club bought his team and they won the member/member. Cool $24K.So, in this same tournament series, we just played again and got second. Won another mortgage payment. So we just won the whole thing…
People are really not great or I married the right person.
Yep. We bought our team the last two times for reasonable (middle of the pack) money. I'm assuming it's because guys see the female (there's also a handicap differential limit so she loses 15 strokes in the calculation) and don't want to bid, but our team's talents match up really well for our handicap.Calcuttas can pay serious cash. What I'm hearing is that hole 2, par 5 eagles are your go-to...Joined my club 7 years ago and have been trying to make an eagle on the 2nd hole since I got legitimately decent (maybe 5 years ago). Short Par 5 where a REALLY good drive leaves me like 175 in but even a mediocre drive(assuming you dont flare it out right) maybe gives you a shot from 210.
FINALLY got it tonight. Good drive, 184 uphill to the front of the green. Hit a good 5 hybrid right at it, got the right bounce up onto the green. Made a 12 foot uphill right in the center.
The best part is I can finally stop taking **** from my dad, who holed out from like 120 the 2nd time we brought him and has never stopped reminding me about it.

(I think you eagled a par 5 on hole two in the round we played)
I felt like a hit the ball well Friday irons were a touch off but man the rough was deadly super deep and thick with fast greens that I could not read to save my life. The 82 felt like a 75 if I could read those greens and judge the rough on my chips. No clue why these greens were so tough to readShot an 82 Friday with a double bogey on 18 after putting my second in the water, every aspect of my game was working. Saturday morning on the way to my car to go play golf I don’t pay attention, kick a step fall down and now have a black and blue left hand. Still shot 85 yesterday and today while barely being able to grip the club, nttawt. New irons have made a huge difference

I liked the course a lot. Played decently well with borrowed clubs. The par 3's ate me up. My mid irons need a LOT of work.Yep, it’s nice.Anyone played here in Peoria, AZ?

I played in 74 degree weather today in AZ.
I don’t know but send it my waySo, all of the sudden, this year, I've added like 30 yards to my driver and am routinely hitting it 275 up to 290ish.
No idea what's going on.
What’s the format again?Had our member-member this weekend. Lost our flight by 1 shot (had the 4th best net score out of 52 teams, so that's a bad break)
I've been having some mental driver issues lately and unfortunately they popped up the past couple of days.....mostly in the alternate shot and pinehurst 9's....so I mostly just screwed over my partner (my brother). Probably cost us 3 shots in alternate shot (I just straight up topped several drives) and took away a lot of our options in Pinehurst today. After I did it the first time, it was all i could think about. Really sucks. Just tightened up. Golf sucks.
Even so, we were 1 up in our flight with 2 holes to go. (we stepped it up in 4 ball) My brother's approach came up 1 yard short and rolled off a big false front. He tried to putt it up the hill and didnt get it there (I HATE that he does this. He isn't a great chipper but this is a big slope and it was wet and sloppy. Just awful for a mid-single digit to not be comfortable chipping) We end up making double and our opponents made par to switch it up (went from 1 up to 1 down) and then we tied the last hole. Just needed to make one more putt all weekend(we would have won the tie-break) , so that's tough to take.
And then the shootout was a chunk fest and the winners were 2 women (one of whom is a known sand-bagger) from the last flight. Obviously hitting from the ladies tees (making it like a 240 yard par 4) and they were the only team getting a stroke. Hard to complain when none of the 8 other teams even made a par, but I could have putted the ball from their tees to get to the point where they were laying 2 net 1.
Zero chance I'd play with him. I have one guy I have just cancelled out of tee times lol
One guy I work with plays on occasion and my coworker buddy makes all the times, he will ask ok if I invite X this round......lol
I say this every time I hit the ball and don't lose it."eh, that's not the ball flight I was looking for, but that should work".
yep - my normal 4some can play in 3:30-3:45 without even trying to go fast. Play ready, etc etc. We still look for balls, line up putts etc but its so easy to play "quick"Man - every club has these guys. We have a few. One guy is a nails on a chalkboard type. Not only talks incessantly, he’s a close talker. I mean walking down the fairway right in your face. Then when you go to hit he stops a foot away and stays there. Doesn’t go to his ball. Another is the type that the first time you meet him after the first tee shot will say “Smails, want me to tell you what you’re doing wrong in your swing?” Nah - I’m good. Especially since I can beat you 10 out of 10 times. There are others. The habitually slow guys. We played yesterday as a threesome in 3:25. That’s what we want. I avoid these players at all cost and if they book in my foursome I move elsewhere.

lol... I'm slightly guilty of this but it's more like ..... "Thanks, caught it off the toe but I won't complain" - only with people I play with regularly. My mild irritant is the guy who self analyzes every shot he plays:
Whack, ball flies about 220 down the middle
I say "Nice Drive" to which he replies "A little off the toe, I just can't figure out why I'm doing that. There's just no hip turn. Come on Paul - you're better than this. What is wrong with you?"
Dude, you're 65 years old and a 10 handicap. Say "Thanks" or "That'll work" and shut it.
Can you play him for money and/or sleep with his wife?Zero chance I'd play with him. I have one guy I have just cancelled out of tee times lol

Oh, that goes without saying. If I see him with me on the tee sheet, I'm moving.
But if we both show up after work (which seems to be a pattern) I'll have to start coming up with excuses.
There are only 2 guys at our club that are generally avoided. They make the same 10:40 tee time pretty much every day and without fail....the other 2 spots in that 4 some are ALWAYS the last 2 to fill up. Both are super annoying, slow, etc, but at least their antics are kinda funny. (they're 2 older jewish guys who just bicker back and forth) This aint that.
