2017 rookie pick 1.07 post NFL draft (Closed) (1 Viewer)

Now that the NFL draft is complete and we have had a few days to let things sink in, lets find out what the SP thinks of the rookies and where they stack up against each other for fantasy.

I decided to expand to four different polls post NFL draft, as now we can consider how each player fits with their teams and what that may mean in terms of fantasy points. 

I am populating the poll from my own rankings, with the exception of the 2QB poll where I will slot the top 3 QB choices at all times. If a player is not listed that you think should be, please recommend that they be added to the appropriate poll. If you would vote for a player who is not listed please vote other and post who you voted for, and that player will be added to the next poll.

Continuing some of the discussion from the previous poll I thought this article does a nice job of looking at rookie TE performance and also the fast that (veteran) TE did have a lot of receiving yards last year.

20% of the top 100 players in receiving yards were from the TE position.

I have this pick. It's no good. Howard seems like the best pick based off of draft position and expert opinions. But he could be a great NFL player but not a great fantasy player. Or he could totally bust. At least with the other two TEs you know they are being brought in mainly for pass catching. 

I went with Howard for my vote but Zay and JuJu were the two other options that I put the most consideration into. Like both of their talents and both their landing spots.

I added him to that poll (dropped Kupp) and one other vote for Perine noted.

I see two other votes in the 2 QB poll but there has been no mention of who is being voted for there. 

Looking back at the previous poll there are some other votes in the 2QB poll there as well, but no mention of what player is being voted for.

Interesting to me that there is currently more support for Mike Williams than Evan Engram in the TE premium poll.

I would rather have Engram than Williams even if Engram were designated a WR, much less when Engram will be getting bonus points for being a TE.

I'm picking in this spot in our 12 team league where RB gets .25 per touch (carry or reception), WR gets 1ppr and TE gets 1.5ppr. I'm really hoping someone in the top 6 takes Williams so I can take Howard but if not I'm going Engram....I think...maybe. Our draft isn't until August so maybe a lot shakes out between now and then.

In this scenario Howard is already gone by pick 1.06 Engram and Njoku are still available however. I

For your format RB have more value than they otherwise would in PPR league. The points for rushing attempts almost brings the positional value back in balance, similar to a standard scoring league. Players like Foreman and Perine more valuable in your format, (compared to typical PPR scoring league) even if they do not catch many passes.

I think the top 10-12 picks of this draft are all promising. For me there are 29 players including the QB who should be above replacement level in 12 team leagues with 20 roster spots (semi short benches). and about 50 players who are worth drafting. To put this in some perspective in 2016 19 players above replacement level 39 players worth drafting. The 2017 draft is about 10 players stronger than last season.

You have a lot of time before August to think about it.

I also have 1.09 to go with that 1.07 but then not again until 3.05.
