Happen to have scheduled our dude weekend for Oct 5.  McGreggor fight is that Saturday night.  Will ALL of the sportsbooks be charging to get in to watch the fight, or will that just be certain books/resorts holding watch parties?  I figured we could bet the fight and watch where we bet, but my buddy says he's seeing like $100 tickets to watch it anywhere.
We reserved at table at Lagasse’s Stadium in the Pallazo for the fight. There’s a $150 minimum per person to spend on food and drink for the reservation. They have some tables that are $100 per person too.

So that’s not horrible because it’s not a ticket, just a food and drink minimum.

This sounds like a great weekend.

I have. For a regular Sunday Game (4 hours), I think your table minimum is either $50 or $75 per person for a table. I think it is a little bit more if you are in the stadium seating area. It's a great environment to watch football.

yeah we've done it for college, never for NFL

I called Mirage (where we're staying) and they will be showing it in the ballroom for $100.  Another $100 to add all you can drink.  Lagasse's a better deal, although I still don't want to pay that much.  Meh.

As I'm reading through the thread prepping for my second trip to Vegas, I remember all the helpful advice I got for my first trip out. I'll add my underrated places.

1. Underrated under any circumstances, but especially if you go with either family or work people/friends who are fuddy duddies and you want to show that you're not a total degenerate: The Mafia Museum. It's in old Vegas and is really, really cool. I'd even recommend seasoned Vegas pros go there if you've never been. It's a step below the WW2 museum in NOLA in the awesome museum in a party city category.

Underrated if you're cool hating yourself:

2. Nacho Daddy. I don't think I've ever eaten more than in this place. God, it was so good. It's probably the only return restaurant on my list. Maybe the secret pizza place in the Cosmo, but that's on the properly rated list.

3. Little Darlings. I was expecting total depravity, but it was actually a pretty fun strip club. No alcoholic beverages there as I remember. Waaaaay better than some higher rated establishments (if that's what you're into but I definitely don't go to places like this. I'm no expert. Although, if memory serves, I went to LD in the middle of the day).

Went last week. Lagasse Stadium. Just order the ribeye over and over to meet your minimum. The rest of the food sucks. Beauty & Essex just OK for me. Couldn't see the menu.

I have weirdly never done this before. Is there an amount bet that can reserve a table?

I'm not sure.

I usually watch games at the Venetian sports book and put about $1K into play. That's always enough to reserve two pretty good seats there. But I only go to Lagasse's for really big events where I'm not super interested in betting anyway.

Sorry if this was covered, but the thread is way to deep to dig it out. Heading out to Vegas in three weeks, staying at Venetian for some poker action. While there, the wife wants to see Copperfield at MGM. What's the best place/site/way to get good tickets for the best price? Use the concierge at the Venetian? A particular website? Other?

Landing in 30 minutes.   Gambling and knights game Saturday night with son.
Gonna be there next weekend.  Planning on catching both Knights' games on Friday and Sunday next week and the UND - Minnesota hockey game on Saturday night.  Can't wait.  Heard good things about the Knights' facility from my cousin.

Not that I'm aware of.  If you're a very large better (would imagine $1000+ per bet), you can try calling.

We sat outside at Lagasse's last time and it's only $25/head food/drink minimum.  We were focused on 1 specific game, so it worked for us.

or drink a lot
We couldn't do $125 per person from 10am-1:20pm all just booze. Came close but had to throw some grub in there. I think 4 of us got our bill to about $460. Unending Stellas and Woodford shots. Food there really is terrible though.

yeah, that's why we stick to the upstairs or outside.  The apps are slightly above bar food....but wouldn't want to eat entrees there unless I absolutely had to.  Decent nachos I guess.

Is now too late to look for rooms during first weekend of March madness?
Just checked El Cortez, they had rooms. Wed and Thur were normal prices, but Fri and Sat were $149 each, which is nosebleed territory for that property. I think you can find rooms lots of places, but they will cost you.

The Mrs and I just got back from Vegas. Spent 5 nights at Vdara, first time staying there. Beautiful property. Though we enjoy the drunken shenanigans it was nice to have a quiet place to wake up to and enjoy the morning before we got started.

I rented a Mustang convertible (autoslash ftw) for the first three days. Our first full day we went to Springs Preserve and checked out the butterfly garden. It was pretty small but a neat experience. We'll definitely go back and check out the other parts when we bring the kiddo. The second day we drove out to Valley of Fire and drove with the top down through the park. Did a couple of hikes and hit Green Valley Ranch for the first time on the way back to add a $1 chip to my collection. Also went to Stratosphere, Rio, Palms, Gold Coast and Circus Circus for the first time to get some more chips. I usually only get $1 chips but also got a $5 50th anniversary chip from Circus Circus.

We did really well on the gambling front, came home with all but $500 of our budget. Hit a 4 team NFL parlay and turned $50 into almost $700 which helped.

Favorite pizza is still Grimaldi's with Secret Pizza in 2nd. Favorite place to gamble by far is Cromwell. Love the limits, odds, dealers and drink service.

Now I'm planning a trip for Super Bowl weekend with my brother who hasn't been too Vegas since he was like two weeks old haha.

Nice! Always fun when that happens.

One visit I hit a 4 team college on Saturday, then turned around and hit a 4 team NFL on Sunday. That was a good trip.
That would be a hell of a weekend! I've got a seven leg parlay going for this weekend, sure would be nice to add $4,400 to our SB trip budget.

Would love to have you post your plays in the FFA Wagering Thread.  Parlays are fun to root for.

Heading to Vegas this Friday and need to find a place for dinner for Friday night.  Seafood is not an option.

What do you guys recommend?

Firefly for tapas if you have a group.

Yardbird for the fried chicken if you are near the Venetian. Beauty and Essex at the Cosmo is also pretty awesome.

We are up for anything but Seafood.

We are doing Stripsteak on Saturday night, so maybe no steakhouses too.
I am a big fan of jaleo and e at the cosmo

aureole and Fleur at Mandalay Bay

the two robuchon, morimoto, and hakkasan are all excellent at mgm (with a high price tag)

michael mina does a nice job as well (stripsteak is one of his)

If you can dress warm, the patio at Lago (Bellagio) is amazing. The food and service are great and you get a front row seat to the fountains. My advice is to make an early reservation, show up 10 minutes early and tip the hostess $20 while asking for the best table they have available.

I'll be back with my brother for the Super Bowl. It'll be my sixth trip as an adult and his first. Staying the first night at Planet Hollywood and then the last three at Venetian on a comp.

I think we're going to do the Twin Peaks Super Bowl party if they do it again this year unless anyone has a better suggestion?

I’ll be there with a big crew. Looking for best SB party as well. Let’s have a FFA beer

Santana the night before!

Going next week for a Fri-Mon getaway with Mrs. Smails. NFR in town so country theme.  Staying at Mandalay Bay.  Right now we have dinner at Carbone in the Aria Friday night before seeing George Strait at TMobile, then Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab at Caesars on Saturday before seeing Brooks and Dunn there later that night.  Haven't been to either restaurant.  Wanted to get into Hell's Kitchen but only reservations are at 3pm! Will do sports book during the day on Sunday for sure as will be first round FF playoffs.  Playing Sunday dinner and activity by ear for now.  One option is the SW steakhouse if we can get in (looks booked for now)  followed by Le Reve.  We usually like catching up on Cirque shows we haven't seen on Sunday nights as always easier to get.  I think I've seen all of them except Le Reve and Zumanity.  Not sure if either is worth it.  Haven't seen Penn and Teller either.  Not great reviews on Opium even though made by the creators of Absinthe.  Thoughts on any great shows to see? Any of those magician/hynotist shows? Or restaurants Sunday night? Been to Yardbird 2X, just had tapas so probably not going that route.

We will go see Phoenix at Mandalay Bay for great cover rock band music on Friday or Saturday post concert.  Any other lounges (not clubs) with music worth checking out either near Mandalay Bay or Caesars?

edit - added Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast later Sat am.

Opium is fantastic. As good as Absinthe - different, but awesome. Honestly, I wouldn't let the mixed reviews scare you away. The humor isn't for everyone but if you like Absinthe, it is highly likely you'll be in on Opium.

Penn and Teller are great. If you like magic, the Mac King afternoon show at Harrah's is inexpensive and great. If you go to the concierge desk at Harrah's they have a really good discount for the show.

ETA - it sounds like you'll be pretty much on the strip, but Andiamo (The D) is an awesome alternative for a great steak in a classic environment.

You have a lot of good food options at Mandalay Bay.... Aureole, Fleur, rm seafood, borders grill, stripsteak, lupo.

You said that you recently had tapas, but e/jaleo at the Cosmo are excellent.

Saw Matt Franco at the Linq this past spring and it was an excellent show.  Dude is funny as hell and had some crazy, cool card tricks.  Really got the audience involved as well.

Thank you.  I'm a regular at Mandalay Bay and have eaten at most of those places. RM Seafood and Stripsteak are regulars for us.  Like to try different places and get out and about more now (some weekends I'd never leave Mandalay Bay with their restaurants, lounges, HOB, sports book, etc I had no reason to).  The one edit I'd make to your list above is Border Grill is absolutely horrible now.  It wasn't once.  It was twice.  I'll never eat there again.

RM Seafood is no more, fyi. Rick Moonen's other place (can't remember the name) also closed.

I spent much of Cyber Monday looking at various room offers. Didn't pull the trigger. The comp system will produce something for me eventually, so I just have to play chicken with them for a while.

Got some pretty awesome mlife deals for lots of dates from now until march. If any of you guys are members and have a trip scheduled in that window it is probably worth looking into if you dont already have a great deal booked.

I'll second this. The wife wanted to go and I went somewhat unwillingly.  Turned out to be a great show.  Would recommend.

Was in Vegas last week. Totally stunned at the food prices there now. No much of a vacation draw for me and my SO going forward. I can stay home and find over-priced restaurants to go to.
