Since 1992, there have been two pass catchers with double digits in TDs and less than 60 catches - Gronk in his rookie year and Tonyan last year.
Every TE who caught 8 or more TDs in a season 2014-20 (23, not a small sample size), 100% had major TD regression, with an average of 5 less.
He's a talented guy and if they do involve him more in the passing game, but I don't think anyone who has looked at those numbers think (I'm in redraft so different mindset) "well here's a set it and forget pick." You're gonna be working the waiver wire and looking for a backup TE to spot start.
He's also a Mark Andrews clone in usage with around 60% of the snap count.
He's an intriguing player. If he truly has earned Rodgers trust (and presuming 12 comes back) then maybe he takes on a role as the second target behind Adams. Maybe he becomes the TE version of James Jones. Maybe he becomes the next TE to step up and be in the top half of TE1s. He finished last year as TE3, though of course there was a huge 74 point gap to TE2 (Kittle missed half the year) and Hock was dinged up the last 3 weeks and had little production.
Interesting, athletic guy, but there is definitely risk there.
