***Houston @ St. Louis*** Official Thread (1 Viewer)

- Houston starters expected to play 1.5 quarters because Kubiak wants an extended look at them.

- Lundy gets the start for Houston. 1 rush, 1 yard in the opening series. 1 catch for 13 yards too.

Wali Lundy starts. Gets 2 yds on the 1s down. Whiffs on blitz pck-up resulting in a 14 yd loss on 2nd. Screen pass for about 10 on 3rd. Punt.

St. Louis goes away from Jackson after the first two plays and starts chucking it around (Curtis, Holt, Bruce, then attempt at Curtis again on 3rd). They get a first down and then stall. Punt.

Lundy goes for 5 on first down. Carr is his usual indecisive self on 2nd down with plenty of time and gets happy feet and throws it at Moulds' feet to avoid the sack. After a penalty, Carr looks for A. Johnson on a crossing route but throws it too far in front of him. Punt coming.

Kubiak talking to Carr on the sidelines and not looking happy with him after the first two series.

Bulger is looking pretty sharp and is spreading the ball around nicely. He's looked at Holt 4 times now, Curtis a few, Bruce once, and the TE now once for a nice gain over the middle.

Jackson is somewhat invisible. The two times they've given him a run he's been stuffed at the line.

Carr is looking much more patient this series. Lundy is getting the majority of touches in this series and looking solid catching and running. Great TE screen call by Kubiak to Putzier.

Wali needs to improve his blocking though. Missed the block earlier and just got called for a hold because of bad position to keep Carr from getting killed by a blizter.

Nice. 10 min. into the 1st quarter and Lundy is at 4/30 rushing and 2/26 receiving. 56 total yards with 5 min. to go in the 1st quarter ain't too shabby.

Fumble Carr. He got nailed. :bag:

Best thing Houston could do is hand the team over to Sage and have Carr as the backup.

hope people sleep on Lundy in my drafts

Definitely won't be drafting Carr this year, let someone waste a pick on him

Carr gets sacked, but that one was on him. I watched Lundy on the play since he has not been good at the blitz pickup and he did do a good job picking it up inside-out that time. Carr still got blasted cause he held onto it too long and fumbled. St. Louis ball at the 40.

Lundy did an excellent job at picking up the inside-out, completely Carr's fault but looks like it will get the ball back

Fumble being challenged, arm in motion.

Houston ball 4th and forever.

Missed FG

Rams 3 Texans 0

Kris Brown = worst kicker in the league

Can't the Texans get ANYONE who can kick better than that guy?

Greenwood with the blitz and sack.

Bulger, thus far, has looked at Holt a ton.

Every one of Jackson's rushes has been stopped at the line.

Kubiak looks to be pulling away some from the traditional 4-3 and going more with a 3-5 with the LBer lined up like a DE to try to slow the St. Louis passing game.

Wish the Texans would put Sage in with the first team, bet he would move the Texans better than Carr

Another pass into the ground by Carr.

Lundy short gain.

3rd and 7

Carr running for his life again.

Gonna be another long year.

I know it's preseason and completely meaningless but Lundy is looking sharp. Loved this kid in college and he could be a nice diamond in the ruff given their RB injuries.

Carr has another poor series. On first down he throws it at Lundy's feet. Second down Lundy gets a few on a rush to the left. On third St. Louis blitzed and Lundy picked up the inside blitzer and Carr held onto it too long again, scrambles to his right, and then just throws it away.

So is Lundy playing himself into the #2 behind DD or is that still Morency?

STL second team in. Still can get nothing going on the ground as another rush up the middle is stuffed.

Dunno yet but I really liked his play in college and was happy they got him in the draft. Morency though should see a lot of playing time, against 2nd stringers.Bulger is done for the day.

Hmm interesting Morency was supposed to be getting looks with the first team offence

Looks like its all Lundy
