Bump Ellington? (e.g. less vulturization)

All kidding aside, this is pretty terrible. Folks need to get a grip and start resolving their conflict in peaceful means. Speaking of which, you know how the NFL has these rookie symposiums where vets come in and mentor them how to watch their money, etc. If they don't do it already, they need to officially fold in a piece on violence outside the sport, and how you handle conflict in non-violent terms. The NFL doesn't have to do it, but it would be a good step to try to get out in front of some of these issues.

Let's ban him indefinitely because it's the issue of the moment

Can we do shark attacks as the issue of the moment again?

League full of thugs...From a mass murderer like Aaron Hernadez to wife + girlfriend abusers like Ray Rice + Greg Hardy to possible child abusers like Adrian Peterson the list doesn't seem to end + these are just the cases we know about.

These dopes are given the world for the simple reason they can throw + catch a ball. If the majority of these morons had to work in the real world they would be lucky if the could hold down a job at a car wash.

So much quality information in this thread. I notice a lot of people attempt to use this forum to debut their comedy routine.

Sorry, but you are way off base here. There are over 2,000 players employed by the NFL right now, counting practice squads. About 20 or so have been in trouble with the law this season. That is about 1%. Hardly a league full of thugs.

If you really believe that, then go find something else to do.

Crime stats among NFL players are lower than the national average.

That just means the rest of the country is even more full of thugs. :gang2:

Here is the news about Dwyer .... PHOENIX -- Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer has been arrested on aggravated assault charges in connection with two altercations at his home in late July involving a 27-year-old woman and an 18-month-old child.

Phoenix police announced the arrest Wednesday, the latest in the string of cases involving off-the-field violence by NFL players.

The Cardinals said they became aware of the situation on Wednesday and are cooperating with the investigation. He has been deactivated from all team activities.

Police say the victims are a 27-year-old woman and an 18-month-old child. One of the counts was "aggravated assault causing a fracture."

Seems strange that all of a sudden in mid September he is arrested for an altercation in July

They're almost there in murder. We just need another Hernandez body to turn up somewhere.

And dopes like you are given a fair chunk of change for the simple reason you can [sling code/repair cars/sell insurance/etc.]. If the majority of you had to take a snap on an NFL football field you would be lucky to be able to walk again.

And that has as much to do with this situation as your statement. People do stupid, self destructive things in all walks of life. I'd even argue that many of them have are far less likely to lose everything because they've already reaped significant financial rewards and can in theory live off of those millions, whereas a violent crime arrest for some normal schmoe would probably render him near unemployable with little to no resources to fall back on.
