***Chicago Bears Thread*** A dynasty begins... (4 Viewers)

I loved the draft.

I hope this punter is as advertised. A punter in the 4th seems like a reach still. However a lot of other teams starting taking random upside shots around that same time.

Bears still need to make a call to a FA DE or two.
I wonder what Hendrickson from Cincinnati would cost. I saw he was looking to be traded recently.

I'd be interested at the right price. Bears window started this weekend. No point sitting on cap space. A second legit pass rusher could make this team seriously good.

Very good first 3 rounds, did not like what the Bears did on day 3.

Specifically I did not like:
* drafting a punter at 122
* not trading down from 122, especially when Houston gave 127 + a 2025 5th for 123 (so they probably could've gotten a free 2025 5th, and taken the same player at 127 as they did at 122)
* trading a 2025 4th for pick 144

Once they had pick 144 back, Austin Booker was a good choice.

I think part of the problem was that they'd traded away all their picks after round 4, and then they dealt badly with that lack of picks (not waiting on a punter maybe because they didn't have any later picks, getting desperate to trade back into the draft when they saw a player they liked falling).

The fact that you're seeing specialists drafted in the 4th shows how shallow this draft really was. That, and the punter is a freakin' stud. Seriously, go watch some highlight reels of the guy. If he can hold down the punting game for the next 20 years, it'll be worth not having the revolving door of suck that the Bears have had recently.

How many of you would be in favor of bringing in a second NFL team, say the Arizona Cardinals, and having the owners split the cost of building a new stadium at the Arlington Heights location?

I'd hate it. If it was an expansion franchise, I'd hate it less. I'm not local to Chicago anymore and have no plans to go back. I'm sure there is a tax/finance piece I'm not aware of, however from a fan perspective I think a second team in Chicago would always be second fiddle to the Bears. If its a new team, I could see some more buy in from diehard fans.
