week 4

Giants DT Cullen Jenkins is in a walking boot Monday.
"I think just a little tendon something, knee and Achilles," Jenkins said.

Lions LCB Chris Houston suffered a "leg" injury in Sunday's win.
Seahawks DL Michael Bennett has been diagnosed with a strained muscle in his back.
Bennett got a scare when his head snapped back and helmet flew off in the second quarter of Sunday's win at Houston. He was immobilized on a cart and taken to a hospital, but tests showed no significant damage

Falcons RT Lamar Holmes was benched in favor of Jeremy Trueblood in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Patriots.
Holmes was one of the league's worst tackles through the first three weeks, giving up 15 quarterback hurries. He ended up playing the vast majority of Sunday night's loss anyway because LT Sam Baker sustained a knee injury in the second quarter.

The Falcons have officially named Jeremy Trueblood their new right tackle.
It's unclear if the move will stick after LT Sam Baker (knee) returns from injury. Trueblood replaced struggling RT Lamar Holmes in the starting lineup for Sunday's loss to the Patriots, but Holmes was later thrust into the game on the blindside when Baker departed

His return is questionable. Paul Worrilow also exited in the third quarter with a knee injury and will be held out for the rest of the game.

The Ravens are calling Lardarius Webb's Week 4 injury a "thigh strain."
Webb, the Ravens top corner, left in the second quarter and never returned.

Cowboys CB Morris Claiborne has lost his starting job to Orlando Scandrick.
Claiborne is only in his second NFL season, but he has the look of a bust. Working as the third corner, he got lit up by Keenan Allen in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. Claiborne is PFF's No. 99 corner of 101 qualifiers so far this season and was 83rd among 113 qualifiers last year

Rookie Jamar Taylor, who is making his NFL debut tonight, has replaced Carroll in the lineup.

The Dolphins currently trail the Saints 14-10, following an eight play, 81-yard yard drive ended with a Lamar Miller five yard touchdown run.

The Saints will get the ball back with just over three minutes in the half

SD CB Derek Cox left with a knee injury

Rams placed S T.J. McDonald on short-term injured reserve with a fractured right leg.

Rams CB Cortland Finnegan exited Thursday night's Week 4 game against the 49ers with a thigh injury and is doubtful to return.

Arians said free safety Rashad Johnson didn’t play against the Buccaneers because he banged his left hand, the one with the severed fingertip, in practice.

“There was a slight infection after the first hit, when they had the cast on,” Arians said. “There’s no telling what germs you’re trapping in there when you ball it up and put the cast on. The stitches are still there. He could evidently lose more of the digit if he bangs it too much, and with any infection, they could have to take more off. We’re going to be careful with it.”

Arians didn’t provide details when asked about Johnson during his Monday press conference.

On how close he was to letting Rashad Johnson play:

“I was not at all. After watching him try to run around with that mitt on, I don’t think there was much he could do with that hand. As much leadership as he brings, I thought that the hand was going to be too much of a problem, and you can’t be out there thinking about your hand if you’re going to play free safety.”

Damn Danny Trevathan. I was on the road yesterday and missed this so I didn't get a chance to grab his backup in any of my deep leagues. That's the type of FBG update that I could have used to my email. But thanks to FBG for getting that Trent Richardson stuff out so fast. I mean, nobody was covering that. ;)

We need an IDP alert for subscribers. I'd pay an additional $5 for that.

Chase Blackburn will remain the Panthers starter at weak-side linebacker.
Oft-injured veteran Jon Beason has been benched

edit: and apparently bruce carter benched for sims

Is it? Sylvester was with them from 2010-2012. He was thought to be the guy they were grooming to take over that ILB spot. Not sure what happened with him this year, guess Wilson beat him out. Now they've changed their minds. It's certainly possible Sylvester could take that job from Williams, especially if he doesn't better play better than he did week 4 (PFF Grade: -4.3).

Sylvester is awful. He was just deemed less awful than Wilson after watching him such for two weeks.Williams is a udfa rookie, he is going to get a ton of rope that Sylvester already hung himself with.

Chargers placed OT Mike Harris on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season.
Harris started each of the last three games, one at right tackle and two at left tackle. After giving up ten sacks as a rookie, Harris only gave up one sack in 2013.

vs indy monday

gettin' kind of jealous of the robert mathis owner this year

Jones OUT this week. Dangit. What is with all of the hamstring injuries for the Packers?
Will Nick Perry be a solid play? He had a great game last week after Jones left.
Nick Perry is the starting OLB opposite Matthews. Jones is an ILB. Not seeing the correlation.

Matthews being out could affect Perry negatively, depending on who steps into Matthews spot (Mulumba?, Neal?). Whoever it is will not demand the same sort of attention opposite Perry. But it's Baltimore and both of their tackles have been terrible, so maybe it won't matter. Gotta wonder if OT Eugene Monroe will start this week and if so for who? LT McKinnie would be my guess, and Perry plays LOLB so he would get no longer Mr. Blindside, Michael Oher. Perry should also see a bump in snaps (only played 58% last week), so probably still a good play in big play leagues.

Looks like Jamari Lattimore came in for Francois who came in for Jones last week. But the play is probably AJ Hawk seeing a bump in snaps. I don't know, too many injuries in one week (Francois to IR as well) to predict much of anything here, save for start your Ravens. Wonder if the rookies (Barrington, Palmer) will start getting time now.

X-rays were negative -- meaning Clemons doesn't have a long-term injury -- but coach Pete Carroll acknowledged "coming back for next week might be hard."

Mayo went down when he collided with both Darren Sproles and a teammate in the fourth quarter. He left the stadium in a sling.
