2024 Las Vegas Raiders thread - Brock party

Watched the presser earlier today. Champ is a champ. I see the Raiders getting a (comp) 3rd rounder for him in 2026.

    WR Rashee Rice, KC

And let's also remember that Kelce suffered a knee sprain in preseason, which probably hampered him for a good portion of the season, especially early on when many were blaming his age for the lost step. The age concerns will likely depress his value a bit (like into round 2) this year, but if...

2024 Las Vegas Raiders thread - Brock party

A dominant preseason - in and of itself - isn't predictive of NFL success. That's well-established. But combined with a significant regular-season AOC starting run, which included meaningful and measurable progress, suddenly that earlier preseason takes on a much bigger light. The Raiders had...

2024 Las Vegas Raiders thread - Brock party

It absolutely shouldn't work out an equal number of times. Way more washouts than studs along all paths to NFL relevance, if we are talking general ratios. And if AOC is a scratch ticket, at least two of the five numbers have been revealed to show a much greater likelihood of a winner than any...

Tom Brady. Tony Romo. Dak Prescott. And every other out-of-nowhere stud QB that ever came out of, you know, nowhere. Your logic works the other way, too.

So I just read that AOC ran a 4.7 forty at his pro day. That is super fast for a normal human, and decently fast for even an NFL QB, especially one with stone shoes. Maybe there is some hope here for the guy to develop more mobility than we (I) might have thought.

Moving aside from QB talk, It hasn't been focused on enough... MJ Devonshire and even moreso, Trey Taylor, were steals in rd 7. I predict both will not only make the team but will provide critical depth in key moments in 2024, and will ultimately become starters in the league at some point...

2024 Las Vegas Raiders thread - Brock party

AOC looked like a young Tom Brady throughout last preaseason. It took a few bumpy initial starts to gain steam, but late regular season, he showed plenty of glimpses of the same early Brady moments, save again for the Vikings and Chiefs defenses. And as others have stated, his OC and OL didn't...

2024 Las Vegas Raiders thread - Brock party

AOC showed flashes of his preseason self more and more as the season wore on, save for the Chiefs and Vikings games, where, to be fair, two of the more exotic defensive systems had his head spinning. But again, let's see what's what if/as the game slows down and the offense around him improves.

Based on last year, with an unprepared rookie AOC, sure. Let's see what a fully-prepped 2nd-yr AOC with Bowers-Powers to upgrage the weapons and blocking look like before we call it mid 'at best.' If you had said mid at worst, I'd agree.

I really don't get some of the AOC hate. Count me as someone who is good with giving him another year to see if he can build upon what he showed last year. He showed a lot more than just having a good arm. But I suppose beauty is in the eye.

    RB Audric Estimé, DEN

Luv Estime. Hate (not teally, but sports-wise) the Bronkies. Unfair our beloved coach AP has to play chess against Andy Reid, Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh. Not convinced he didn't match them this weekend, but we'll see. All four teams collected several very good players. Now who will motivate...

    RB Jaylen Wright, MIA

IMHO, Wright is light years upgraded from bruiser JW. He will take Mostert's role at some point and is much more comparable, though talent-wise, especially with lateral movement, a big upgrade there as well. Luv this pick for the Dolphins and fantasy football.

**** Chargers 2024 Thread - Because No One Demanded It ****

What a draft. And they added Rice + Harbaugh's UM WR in rd 7. There isn't one player here I don't like, tho I agree JPJ over McConkey would've turned this list from a three-run homer to a grand slam. Clearly, Jim's last few years of being deep into college football paid off this weekend. He was...

    RB Isaac Guerendo, SF

4.33 at 225 lbs. And now with Shanny.

    RB Jaylen Wright, MIA

What a landing spot. Achane and Wright gonna keep DCs up at night next few years. McDaniel evil genius.

2024 Las Vegas Raiders thread - Brock party

Eichenberg sounds a lot like Spillane, whom he'll be backing up next year. Solid high-character pick.

    WR Devontez Walker, BAL

Great pick. Dude is a 2nd rounder most years IMO, but got caught in a deep draft shuffle this year. Of course, Baltimore swoops. Good for them. Great for Lamar.

2024 Las Vegas Raiders thread - Brock party

He also stated in his presser that his family is all Niner fans, which means they are, or at least were probably Raider haters. Is what it is, kid. Be a professional now and have some gratitude and respect for your new team. He better get his head out of his *** on the quick.

Who has had the best draft through day 2?

It was a reach by any consensus ranking, just a matter of how much. But as we saw with McCarthy and then Penix, consensus ranks don't mean ****. These teams have crazy intel on one another and all I needed to get over the 'reach' aspect of the pick was seeing how fired up AP was in the war room...
