RB Le'Veon Bell, FA - 9.6.21 Workout For Baltimore (2 Viewers)

Rotoworld:

Le'Veon Bell - RB - Steelers

CBS Pittsburgh's Colin Dunlap reports Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were arrested for possession of marijuana Wednesday, while Bell was also booked for DUI.

Per Dunlap, Bell and Blount were in possession of 20 grams of pot and were accompanied by another female, who was in possession of two grams. All three were said to be "cooperative." While this obviously isn't good news, it may have no affect on Bell or Blount's status for the 2014 season. Bell had no real off-field concerns coming out of Michigan State. But Blount has a shaky track record. Both will be in line for potential suspensions once the case is resolved.

What kind of morons are these two if they didn't immediately hand all their weed to the chick?
Stoned morons.

Yep, can't be too bright for placing themselves in this situation

remind me again what the steelers did when S.Holmes got busted, didnt they suspend him themselves rather than wait for league? will be interesting to see how this plays out

If they wait for the league, nothing probably happens until the 2015 season

Le'Veon Bell, LeGarrette Blount taken into custody:

The Pittsburgh Steelers backfield could be facing legal trouble.

Detective Brian Kohlhepp of the Ross Township, Pennsylvania Police Department confirmed to NFL Media that running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were pulled over Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. ET. They, along with an unidentified female passenger in the backseat, were taken into custody and admitted to marijuana possession.

A traffic officer spotted Bell's black Chevy Camaro after smelling marijuana. A medium-sized bag with about 20g of marijuana was recovered in the car. Kohlhepp anticipates that misdemeanor marijuana possession charges will be filed against Bell, Blount and the woman, but that has not happened yet.

Kohlhepp tells NFL Media that Bell was driving the car. Kohlhepp also anticipates charging Bell with driving under the influence, who was taken to a local hospital to have blood drawn. Summons and charges would be delivered through the mail. The police noted that all were cooperative and quickly released.

If formally charged, both players would be subject to the league's substance abuse policy.

I think Archer will have a bigger role than people think. Not really invested in him anywhere, but he has been impressive, and we've seen more and more smaller players in the league the last few years. In PPR leagues at least, I think he's becoming a sneaky end of your draft pick.

Other than having the same name?

pretty clear case of driving while black. horrible society.
smelled a moving car from a motorcycle? I agree with you; it sounds far-fetched. Though I suppose it's very possible from a stop-light.

This will put them in the substance abuse program but first offenses do not get suspended for marijuana. I have no idea what the DUI legal standard for marijuana is.

He was busted right before (night before I think) so Tomlin sat him to avoid the "distraction." Can't really do that here. NFLPA will fight anything the team does. Up to the league I think.

True, but any NFL player could already be "in the program" with a first offense and the public would not know it.

3/4 oz, I think his days in Pittsburgh are numbered, they don't fool around with off field stuff. I will not be surprised if Pittsburgh trades for a RB and releases Bell. This isn't Mid March and nothing is happening and he's arrested in Podunk, it's 2 weeks before the season and this guy is not thinking very clearly. Middle of training camp is not a good time to be caught doing this. Pitt usually does the right thing,

You'd be surprised. They tolerate a lot more from good players than they do from mediocre ones.

Sick trolling dude.

But yea, they're not releasing or trading one of the best on-the-field rookies last year who is locked up for another three years on an insanely cheap rookie contract over a bag of weed. Give me a break, dude.

Bell has only one year in the league, so he likely don't have too many previous incidents. Blount on the other hand has been in the league for a while, so he could have a previous incident.

:fishy:

Bell will be fine, the case will be delayed until after the season and he's never had issues in the past. Pitt needs to cut Blount though, he's a horrible role model for Bell and he's not good enough to put up with.

But supposedly Blount didn't get charged, Bell did.

Lol that Pittsburgh doesn't fool around when it comes to off field incidents. I must have missed it when they suspended Big Ben after he raped that girl.

You mean the one where no charges were filed, meaning he has the same record as you?
good point, we should probably make it clear which rape we are discussing since there were multiple ones. There was the 20-year old college girl he raped in a bar in Georgia and then there was the casino hostess at Harrah's in Tahoe, you know the one where he settled for an undisclosed sum before it went to trial. Take your pick or we can discuss both cases.

I kinda of agree. Bell had no trouble last year, now he's hanging around with Blount and this. Blount has a questionable track record at best - being suspended multiple times in college, some for missing practice and being "overweight" (hmmmm....), being an undrafted FA then bouncing from team the last few years. It strikes me that Pittsburgh may have made a mistake in signing him, in terms of character - especially as it pertains to being "veteran leadership" for Bell. They might be wise to quickly eliminate that mistake - it would make a clear and strong point to Bell and the rest of the team.

Good to see the drama is still going as if Bell and Blount will get more than one or two games out of this some are even acting like their career is over. More over some who are defending Gordon are not defending Blount and Bell here.

The drama here at FBG is unmatched, especially when most posters have an agenda of some sort as they try to drive up and lower value of players the best they can.

Should the Browns cut Gordon since he is having a bad impact on Manziel? Gordon has been arrested for weed and in trouble with the league multiple times, now that Manziel is on the Browns he is rolling $20 bills. hmmm...
