QB Jalen Hurts, PHI (2 Viewers)

Jalen Hurts completed 19-of-28 passes for 285 yards and four touchdowns in the Eagles' Week 8 win against the Steelers, adding two rushes for ten yards.

Hurts toyed with a horrible Steelers secondary that stood no chance against Hurts and A.J. Brown, who scored three touchdowns -- and nearly a fourth -- in the game's first three quarters. Hurts' day would've been even better if the Eagles hadn't benched him with ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter against an uncompetitive Steelers team that didn't seem to have much interest in winning Sunday. Hurts was patient throughout, making reads and exploiting favorable coverage of Brown and Dallas Goedert, who caught all six of his targets for 64 yards in the first three quarters before joining the rest of the team's starters on the bench. The Hurts-led Philly offense has been a machine for much of the past two months, bolstered by an ultra-aggressive head coach willing to go for it on fourth downs and forgo field goals near the end zone. Hurts will again be an elite option in Week 9 against the Texans. He might not have to play more than two quarters against Houston.

Jalen Hurts said he's not a dual-threat QB; he considers him a "triple-threat" QB. Hurts: "You have to be able to kill them with your legs at times, make the throws when you need to in the passing game, and kill them with your mind and with what you see and how you react."

Jalen Hurts completed 21-of-27 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 29-17, Week 9 win over the Texans, adding nine carries for 23 additional yards.

On an evening where most were expecting the Eagles to smash the Texans' sorry run defense on the ground — they did generate 31/143/2 — Hurts instead won the game through the air. The Texans kept the game surprisingly close in the first half, and Hurts responded with aggressive, quick passing. He targeted Dallas Goedert nine times, and found Goedert and A.J. Brown for touchdowns. The quiet rushing effort was actually Hurts' third straight, but he has eight passing scores over his past three starts after generating only four through his first five appearances. Having finally regressed to the mean through the air, Hurts will have a chance to do so on the ground in Week 10 against the Commanders. Washington should have Chase Young back for that one.

So impressed with this guy, the total package. Outside of Mahomes, I'm not sure there is a QB I'd rather build my franchise around than this guy. Josh Allen, maybe, but every time I see Hurts play I come away more impressed than the last and Allen's playing style scares me long term.

I really don't think people calling for the Eagles to change QBs or to draft one next year (I'm looking at you, Jimmy Johnson) have paid much attention. He's had really bad moments, but at other times hasn't gotten much help from dropped balls and play calling. And in between has looked fairly good for a guy in his second year. I think you've got to give him the opportunity next year as well.

:bowtie:

Calm down, guys. This guy sucks, remember? Trash. He'll never make it. He can't read a defense to save his life. Doesn't see wide open guys, and can't hit them even when he does see them. 😏

Jalen Hurts completed 17-of-26 passes for 174 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Eagles' 32-21, Week 10 loss to the Commanders.

The Eagles entered Week 10 with three giveaways on offense, by far the fewest of any team this year. A Hurts interception and three fumbles more than doubled their total in just four quarters. Hurts' interception was a heave to A.J. Brown that hit the normally sure-handed receiver in the gloves. Philly also committed five penalties for 75 yards, often blundering at crucial moments. Hurts had a quiet game on the ground, rushing six times for 28 yards, but found the end zone once again. Even when he has a down day as a passer, the rushing production is often enough to save his game from a fantasy perspective. Hurts will look to rally the Eagles in Week 11 against the Colts. Despite the middling performance, he remains a top-five fantasy quarterback.

Jalen Hurts completed 18-of-25 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown and rushed 16 times for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' Week 11 win over the Colts.

The rushing yards were the most since Week 1 for Hurts, who scored the go-ahead TD on a seven-yard run to pull the fourth quarter comeback. Hurts' only passing touchdown was to WR Quez Watkins on a wide open red-zone throw. The Colts held the Eagles to a field goal through the first three quarters before Hurts rallied the offense to a win. Hurts has at least two touchdowns in six straight games while averaging over 250 total yards. The Eagles host a Packers secondary that's allowing the fourth-fewest passing yards per game in Week 12.

Jalen Hurts threw 3 deep TD passes for the second time this season.
Hurts is just the 2nd QB to have multiple games with 3+ deep TD in a season in the Next Gen Stats era (Ben Roethlisberger, 2016).

Jalen Hurts completed 29-of-39 attempts for 380 yards and three touchdowns, adding five rushing attempts for 12 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 35-10, Week 13 win over the Titans.

Hurts was absolutely dominant in this game, picking up short-yardage conversions on the ground, rushing for a short TD, and hitting deep passes downfield with ease. His first TD came on a 34-yard pass to DeVonta Smith. He moved off a double-covered A.J. Brown as his first read to find Smith, who badly beat his man in single coverage. He then hit A.J. Brown for two TDs of 40 yards and 29 yards. It could have been an even bigger day, but the Eagles pulled their starters with plenty of time left in the fourth quarter. Hurts should have no trouble keeping things rolling against the Giant in Week 14, even if the Eagles shift to the run a bit more in that matchup.

Jalen Hurts and Daunte Culpepper are the only NFL QBs since the 1970 merger to have multiple 3+ rushing TD performances in their career.

Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott are the only QBs since the 1970 merger to rush for 3 TDs and throw for 300+ yards in a single game.

NFL stats and records, Week 15: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts closes in on Cam Newton records

Excerpt:

1) Jalen Hurts tracking down Cam Newton rushing records
Hurts scored three touchdowns on the ground Sunday, bringing his total for the season up to 13. Hurts needs two more to pass Newton for the most by a quarterback in a single season in NFL history (Newton scored 14 during his 2011 rookie season). It was also Hurts' eighth career game with multiple rushing scores, the second-most by a quarterback since at least 1950. Again, Newton is the only quarterback with more such games in a career at 10.

he’s having an incredible season

Eagles QB and MVP candidate Jalen Hurts is uncertain to play Saturday vs. the Cowboys due to a sprained shoulder that he suffered during Sunday's win over the Bears, per league sources. Hurts was hurt late in the third quarter, when Bears' DE Trevis Gipson drove him into ground.
Hmmm... Could be bad. You would think with the playoff spot wrapped up, and a pretty firm grasp on the 1 seed, they might give him a week off even if he's "okayish".

From what I read its very minor MRI came back clean. Seems very precautionary, but the report said "No doubt he will be back for the playoffs" more or less. Seems some gamesmanship some were hoping for perhaps, so we don't show the "Real" offense with Garnder piloting it.

Thanks. Can you share a link please?

He finished the game, and was playing well in the fourth.....so rumors of a broken collarbone seem a little whack.
Whatever it is has to be minor. Sucks for those relying on him for fantasy playoffs, but Eagles need only one more win in three tries to lock up the top seed so there's little reason for Philly to take any chances with the franchise

Ah it was fun while it lasted. Thanks for the monster games and hope you’re good for real life playoffs!

Minshew was excused from practice today to give the eulogy at Mike Leach's funeral.
