I was able to mint 2 of them for .2 eth each. Pre-reveal they went to 8 eth and I didn't sell. Still kicking myself. Captain Cranks tried to talk some sense into me but I didn't listen.

The big things coming up for them are the Meka-bots drop which are free to mint if you own a Meka. Those coming end of this month or early Jan. Also they have a partnership with Coinbase so hopefully once CB launches the floor will rise. The guys involved are very talented and bright. They started a company (MekaLabs) and will have a bunch of partnerships coming up in 2022. They are in the process of expanding the company and setting up headquarters somewhere in Europe. They're big into the quality of the art. Talking about collectables, metaverse stuff, anime series, all kinds of things. Sky is the limit. There are still a bunch of unhappy holders who bought in at 8th and watched the price crater who think they're not doing enough in terms of PR but I have faith. Definitely a good time to get in I think but then again I'm biased owning 5 of them. There was a sweet F9 that sold last night for less than 1 eth. Check rarity tools and you should be able to find a nice one for a reasonable price. I prefer the Gadians myself, have 2 of them.

We all have to learn things the hard way.  You got some experience for the next time.  

 
Bigtime is having its first SPACE sale on the 21st.  I am still researching it but from what I can tell this is kind of like their version of land, though not entirely (you will also be able to earn space in the game by playing).

Prices are high ($800-$3200) but if you look at land values in other games that are popular you can see the upside.  Again, still trying to figure out exactly what these do as they're a little different than just "land".

Alex Becker is high on this game and is supposedly positioning Neo Tokyo for land purchases.

 
Well it took about 3 hours of mashing refresh but I ended up getting 4 BigTime Spaces (land plots).  The best of them pretty middle of the road, so nothing crazy those sold out fast.

Let's see if this has legs, the most I've spent on NFTs in one go so far.

That was a total #### show.  I ended up getting some rare/epic ones at the end which I already regret.  This will be a long term hold since it appears like it'll take a while for the more common stuff to sell out.

I ended up with...

1x Mythic Small

1x Legendary Medium

2x Epic Small

1x Rare Small

There are still a bunch of the epic/rare small ones left so that's not ideal.  I think the ####show of a launch caused a lot of people to move on.  I would imagine if the site had been working properly from the get-go everything would have sold out.

I just tried to get in on the Adidas Originals mint.  0.2 ETH and 30k available and sold out fast.  My first time dealing with gas wars.  I had $500 extra in my wallet but apparently that wasn't even close to enough.  It looks like some people paid $900-$1000 in gas and it was still too low and their transaction failed, so they lost the $1k in gas fees and didn't even get a mint.

Looks like my collection.  4 Rare smalls, 1 rare Med, 1 Epic small, and 2 Legendary Smalls.

Demand to play the game is going to have to grow this land value.  There are too many parcels to prompt speculative demand for the lower end stuff right now.

It will be interesting to see.  Sandbox has 166k plots of land and hasn't launched yet and the cheapest plot of land is 10k.  This drop for BigTime was 60k pieces.  Though of course in BigTime's case there are another 540k to come at some point, but only 60k right now.

 
So one Solana project we're in is Stoned Apes. Bought 1 at mint but wish we bought more as the floor is about 10x the mint or so.

The dev's are in Europe. Apparently 1 guy in Colorado convinced them to pay for a tattoo of a Stoned Ape. He tried contacting them just before he got the tattoo but with the time zone difference they were unavailable. Much to their surprise he put it on his face (don't have a link but it could be seen via either Twitter or Discord - can't remember which).

Now he's trying to extort them for more stoned apes by threatening to turn in a dispensary in Colorado for selling weed across state lines. Stoned Apes has a relationship with this dispensary, as well as some others, to accept puffs (Stoned Ape tokens) as payment. They've offered to pay for laser removal of the tattoo but otherwise telling him to eff off. Just so weird.

 
Spent an uncomfortable amount of money on a pill today. Not sure if many of you are familiar with BYOPills. I’ve been waiting to jump in for a while now and finally did today. Was fun trying to explain this to my wife. This is a safe space, right?

Someone in my twitter feed keeps talking about these but every time I poke around the project I understand it less. I saw they released a "land" nft but not sure what that does. I was going to buy on secondary but didn't know if I need other stuff to go with it or if i would be able to flip it. I need to do a deep dive.

 
Are you guys buying these with the idea of holding for a looooooooong time (either personal collection or financial gain) or are simply looking to make some $ by flipping in a year or two?

 
Someone bought a MekaVerse for 500 ETH last night! It sold for 2 ETH 10 minutes before it looks like a tax haven/money laundering thing. Sales brisk since the news though.

I picked up Meka #6 yesterday. Was going to sell my least rare Meka to make up the cost but ended up delisting it after all of the attention from the 500 ETH sale. Probably just going to hold it at least until the MekaBots (free mint for Meka holders) are released. Meka also got us on the whitelist for Stoner Ape Club. Bunch of big projects coming and MekaVerse getting holders on WL's. Extra benefit.

Some I try to flip right away. Others I stick in the vault. I play it by ear.

I had given up on a few projects that eventually came around. Creature Toadz had been dead in the water for months and then suddenly yesterday they hopped to life. Sold a few for a decent profit and holding the rest.

 
The Gambling Apes crypto web casino soft launched this week. Big promos coming soon. I own approx 1/2600th of 70% of the profits, paid each month in ETH. A second metaverse casino coming in the next few months that i also have a piece of. You need a VPN to play in the land of the free as of now but not a difficult hurdle. They took in $250,000 worth of deposits in the first couple days with no promo yet.

Not sure if you noticed, but the land sale sold out a few days ago. Also, this was mentioned in their discord:

"Can confirm that if there is another sale, it will also only be 10% of the supply, last and final sale. And as he said, not confirmed yet, they could scrap it and make all remaining lands in-game drops only too."

Also, based on my research, rarity isn't going to have a huge impact on value other than scarcity.  IOW, there won't be much, if any, in-game use benefit of having an Exalted vs. Rare/Legendary. Don't take that as gospel though.

I used to try to get 2 or 3 of each thing for the sake of flipping a couple and holding 1 long term. Recently I've dialed back the projects I'm in and focus on long term holds. Neo Tokyo, The Doge Pound, and Wilder World are my base projects.

No. Each ape gets the same %. However there has been talk of rare apes getting some kind of lottery benefit each month but they haven't said much yet.

They did a surprise Christmas Gambling Apes drop on the 25th. 777 of them. Holders of Christmas Gapes get a percentage of a special Christmas slot machine. They also got some pretty good free gifts with them. One guy got a $20,000 Rolex.

Freeroll contests every week (usually poker). 2 tournaments today where they pay out about $2500 each tournament, sometimes more for special events. They've had 3 live meetups so far too (Vegas, NYC, Miami) where they've given out some pretty sick prizes.

 
Fang Gang is blowing up today! what is going on? Seems like every NFT is going nuts. That project been stagnant for months, now selling every 5 minutes.

 
Any videos out there that you find are really helpful to get schooled on this.  I've got a basic foundation on it but am interested in learning more.

Although this feels like it could be addictive and if there is a bubble out there, this certainly would qualify.

Yes.  It's very easy to spend a lot of money fast and if you're not smart about what you get into, you'll likely lose a lot of money. There's no doubt in my mind there will be NFT addiction social programs in the future. 

Check out this guy's NFT playlist for good information. Things in this space change very quickly, so a lot of the content might be a little outdated (even if it's from 2 months ago). Take it slow and learn before you buy. Gary Vee said he spent months learning before buying his first NFT.

 
Was thinking about what kind of NFT I would create if I had any skill- Blind Refs. A series of 32 rare blind referees, and a few thousand football players of varying commonality. Tie it in with a football game that includes various forms of random ####ery by the refs that affect the outcome of games.

Holders would be incentivized and value would be driven by owning players from a particular team (some kind of benefit for owning 22 starters, skill position players more rare, etc).

*Idea came from Browns/Packers game last week
