Marijuana is the answer to the NFL's concussion problems? (1 Viewer)

They test once a year for street drugs during OTAs and unless you're popped on the announced-in-advance test, no testing for a year.

The policy as it stands is an invitation to self-medicate. No issue from me, these guys take a beating every week.

Its not the THC in hemp that helps the biochemistry.

Their are undeniable benefits with medical marijuana that has negligible amounts of THC which is what people who are only concerned with getting high are obsessively focused on.

Medical marijuana does have benefits without the high which should make everyone happy. Those who think they can or should try to control other people and those who want the freedom to do things that do not harm anyone.

Are you happy with your non alcoholic red wine? It's got health benefits!

WFT?

Is there med-alcohol and is the government overzealously making alcohol illegal?

There is no such thing as medical alcohol, because you don't need an excuse (or a prescription) to drink it. Red wine, however, does have health benefits. There is an "extract" which, I guess, is roughly equivalent to marinol.

My point (lost on you) was to show that advocating for non-THC containing marijuana, because of its health benefits, and characterizing those that actually want to get high as "obsessively focused on" - would be a rather absurd argument if translated to the context of alcohol and wine.

We recognize that wine has health benefits, tastes good, and also has the pleasant effect of intoxication, which no one has much of a problem with.

Ah yeah. I missed your point because I'm too stupid not because your point sucks right?

Primarily the health benefits derived from the hemp plant come from immature plants that haven't even come to bud where they are juiced. The point of medical marijuana is the health benefit, not the high.

For anyone seeking health benefits of marijuana they should juice whole immature plants before they go to bud.

There absolutely IS medical alcohol. It is given to those who are in the hospital for a physical ailment, and begin to have withdrawal which affects their recovery/care.

Fair point, thanks for the info, sounds like the booze equivalent of methadone.

However, my point was that we don't have to go through the "medical" charade when it comes to alcohol and someone simply wants a drink (because it taste good or they like getting drunk or they like the 'health benefits' of 1 glass of red wine a day), by having to get a prescription from a bogus, prescription factory doctor (a la California's current setup).

"Doc, I've had some trouble sleeping lately, could you proscribe 2 gin and tonics, taken daily, an hour before bed?"

Disclaimer - obviously, some people do actually use marijuana for legit medical benefits related to seizures, chemo, etc. But probably only a small percentage of those with weed cards (again, California).
