Damn afc south you scary...Wow. Miller and Luck lost in one day.
AP and his good buddy Silverback WilliamsThey should trade for AP tonight. AP won't be happy losing carries to Guice (who is clearly going to be the guy) and AP would love to come back home. Just makes a lot of sense for both teams.
He was a feature back at the U. But they won't want him to wear down.Honestly, not a horrible idea. But I could see one of the old men from Buffalo going too.
I wonder if they have any interest in featuring Duke.

Mri confirmed that Texans RB Lamar Miller tore his ACL and is out for the year, per source.
That's only because Crockett blew his knee out before his junior year. He scored a 92 yard touchdown with 6 seconds left to beat Alabama and also scored the winning touchdown in the Gator Bowl which netted him the game ball. He then transferred to the Southeast Asia Conference i.e. Viet Nam. https://miamivice.fandom.com/wiki/James_"Sonny"_CrockettHe'd beat out Crockett, but has no chance against Tubbs.
A little surprising I guess. They must be worried about Harris' talent, and/or Michel's health.Just signed with the Patriots.
Patriots signed RB Lamar Miller, formerly of the Texans, to a one-year contract.
It's insurance for Sony Michel (foot surgery), who remains on the team's PUP/active list while rehabbing ahead of camp. 29-year-old Miller hasn't stepped foot onto the field since tearing his ACL and MCL nearly one year ago to the day, but his veteran presence is suddenly a roadblock for any Damien Harris offseason hype. Rex Burkhead also loses out as a potential deep league flier since Miller is more than capable of playing on 3rd down. All in all, this is telling news for Michel, who is quietly trending towards opening the year on New England's PUP list (and thus missing the team's first six games).

I doubt they cut Burkhead since he restructured taking a pay cut to free up cap space for the team. He is the only rb where you aren’t showing your hand. Sony is run. White is a pass. Burkhead does both and runs inside the tackles. I hopin Harris is an all purpose but we haven’t seen him play yet.Sony is toast. Burkhead gets cut
Bill loves Burkhead and he's a better all around back than a washed up Miller anyway.Sony is toast. Burkhead gets cut
I think you are somewhat overestimating Harris for a couple of reasons. One, he literally could not get on the field last year and was mostly a weekly inactive. He was behind Michel, White, Burkhead, and Bolden. The first three are back and now they have Miller instead of Bolden (and they seem to like UDFA J.J. Taylor). Assuming Newton is the QB, Cam will probably take away 100 carries and tons of scoring opportunities from the RB's. Second, over his coaching career, BB usually started his early drafted rookies or they turned into specialists. Maroney and Michel each had roughly 200 touches their rookie years. Vereen and White each had around 15 touches as rookies. Can't imagine a lesser (1 year out from ACL/MCL) Lamar being any kind of road block for Harris, unless I am severely overestimating Harris.
Patriots officially signed RB Lamar Miller to a one-year deal and placed him on the PUP list.
Miller, 29, hasn't seen NFL action since tearing his ACL and MCL last August. When healthy, he's a three-down back who could be New England's RB1 come September while Sony Michel recovers from foot surgery.

Damien Harris has two speeds. Slow. And then slower. This makes me wonder how bad is Damien Harris.
Because my fantasy team needs Harris to at least get into the rbbc in ne and he can't do that if Lamar Miller decides to make a come back.Damien Harris has two speeds. Slow. And then slower.
But really, this is due diligence on the part of the Pats. They need the bodies to start the year to round out their RB room. Bolden is opting out, so that leaves at least one quick spot open and for the taking. Why not Miller at a cheap rate, assuming he comes cheaply?
so does mine. I don't think Bill cares about our fantasy teams. :(Because my fantasy team needs Harris to at least get into the rbbc in ne and he can't do that if Lamar Miller decides to make a come back.

I mentioned Harris' performance in one of the Patriots related thread. He was used sparingly in college . . . 9 carries and 1 reception per game. I am not sure why so many people think he will turn into a regular contributor in NE. As for being slow and slower, he did have a 6.4 ypc over his college career. Some of that has to be attributed to playing at Alabama, but that still is a pretty decent number. In his senior season, he had a 5.8 ypc. Najee Harris was at 6.7 and Joshua Jacobs was at 5.3.Damien Harris has two speeds. Slow. And then slower.

Lamar Miller (knee, active/PUP) could be cleared to practice soon.
The Patriots have been giving Damien Harris an extended look in training camp with Sony Michel sidelined. That could change with Miller potentially cutting into his reps when he gets on the field. Miller averaged 4.6 YPC and played 57 percent of snaps with the Texans before missing all last year to ACL surgery. He's a wildcard in the Patriots' backfield.

Patriots activated RB Lamar Miller (knee) from the active/PUP list.
Signed three weeks ago, Miller now has 13 days to get conditioned for Week 1. Miller's activation comes five days after Sony Michel's (foot). That likely leaves Damien Harris as the favorite for Week 1 carries, but as usual, coach Bill Belichick's backfield plans are a bit of a black box. James White could perhaps take on a bigger early-down load, while coaching staff favorite Rex Burkhead remains on the roster. If forced to select a Patriots back, the Rotoworld staff is usually ending up with Harris. It's far from a guarantee Miller makes the 53-man roster.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe confirms Lamar Miller is on the Patriots' "cut line."
Howe is simply confirming the obvious. Signed 22 days ago, Miller just came off the active/PUP list on Monday. That leaves him less than two weeks to make an impression before the Patriots' opener. Even with the Pats' backfield in its usual flux, Miller isn't a compelling flier behind Damien Harris, Sony Michel, James White and Rex Burkhead.

Miller is another tough one to predict because he was activated Monday from the physically unable to perform list. Because the Patriots could have kept him on the PUP list and not burned a roster spot, my read is they want him on the field to contribute right away. But if I'm misreading it, maybe they're using this week to evaluate his potential in the offense since they already have an abundance of running backs. If this is merely a one-week tryout for Miller, they could release him for Copeland or Bryant.

Ivan Fears on Lamar Miller: We threw him in the fire pretty fast just because we’re running out of time where you can be very physical in practice.. He’s done a great job. I really expect Lamar to bounce back and be the guy he was. But I’m sure that’s going to take a little time
Free agent Lamar Miller is visiting with the Bills.
Miller, released by New England on Saturday, wouldn't pose an immediate threat to the workloads of either Devin Singletary or rookie Zack Moss. Coming off a torn ACL and MCL, Miller is a long shot to be anything more than a committee back. He can be left on the waiver wire if he signs with Buffalo.

Free agent Lamar Miller is visiting with the Colts.
Indianapolis also hosted free agent RBs Darius Jackson and Benny LeMay. Miller, coming off a torn ACL and MCL, failed to make New England's roster out of camp and isn't a threat to either Jonathan Taylor or Nyheim Hines if signed off the streets. It is clear the Colts are looking for added help at that position.

Bears signed RB Lamar Miller to the practice squad.
Coming off a torn ACL and MCL, Chicago will likely observe Miller's progress before even considering him on the team's active roster. The veteran running back will replace Artavis Pierce, who was promoted for depth following the loss of Tarik Cohen (torn ACL) in Week 3. 29-year-old Miller isn't a threat to David Montgomery's workload moving forward.

Bears promoted Lamar Miller to the active roster.
Ryan Nall, Cordarrelle Patterson, Artavis Pierce and Miller are all expected to be active for the Bears on Monday night. Miller hasn't handled a single carry since tearing his ACL and MCL with the Texans last preseason but is still expected to rotate in as a two-down sloth for David Montgomery (concussion). With no receiving upside to speak of, Miller is best deployed as a one-game DFS flier at the stone-minimum rather than being rostered as a re-draft asset.

Washington signed RB Lamar Miller.
Miller was added off Chicago's practice squad. It's a sign Washington doesn't expect Antonio Gibson to return this week. Miller have to go through COVID protocols before he's eligible to play.
