Today I was talking with a buddy who mentioned something I never heard of before. He claims there was some NFL running back who once rushed for 1000 yards but on the very next play he ran for negative yards and got hurt. Thus ending the year with 900 yards and change. He couldn't remember the guys name.I spent some time googling to find out who the player was and had no luck.Did this ever happen or is he a dirty fibber?

In 1972, Mercury Morris and Larry Csonka were credited with being the first tandem of backs to each rush for 1,000+ yards. The odd thing is that Morris was initially at 991 yards and the Dolphins requested the league to review... which they did and added on 9 yards for an even 1,000. Very strange.
