Week 7 final results for Joe's extras

Join me in congratulating these 17

103477 - @stuckinthemuck - 205.50 - how in the heck do you score this high with $77 wrapped up with the Giants?
103413 - @Go DC Yourself - 190.10 - nice showing at RB, and always great when kicker scores 17
103729 - @bcnfinance - 182.10 - must be nice to be 40 above with only 16 from Mahomes
102453 - @Titans_fan - 181.00 - how do you score 181 while taking .8 from your WR2?  It's called Russell Lockett.
104031 - @cstruk - 178.45 - great score, considering this is an 18-man roster with Zeke & Jacobs on the bench (10.2 combined)
100246 - @gobrowns33 - 178.05 - one of a few teams with 2 decent TE scores this week
102020 - @neal cassady - 176.20 - survived CeeDee Lamb's first dud game with a good overall score
103154 - @Synthesizer - 173.10 - Burrow to Boyd wasn't like Russell to Lockett, but it gets you through
103292 - @ConstruxBoy - 170.30 - I thought this team was toast, congrats on hanging in there
103368 - @Kujjie - 169.00 - who needs more than 1 active RB when you are getting almost 100 from 3 of your WR's?
103462 - @Raging weasel - 165.50 - 25% of scoring coming from K & D, and 2 TE's in double digits
104127 - @Galileo - 164.20 - did well without Aaron Jones, strong trio of WR's carried this team to week 8
103205 - @4th&inches - 164.20 - this guy managed to leave 7.50 points on his bench... at the TE position!
104539 - @BroadwayG - 162.00 - no monster scores by anyone, but decent all around; even left Kittle's 13 pts on the bench
104511 - @Deamon - 159.05 - third straight week with Watson scoring 30+ - I know, cuz I got booted week 4
103281 - @mphtrilogy - 157.95 - one of many taking a goose egg at TE; woulda been nice to have the Darnold/Haskins dough elsewhere
103146 - @themeanmachine - 151.60 - didn't leave alot on the bench; 4 RB's & 5 WR's combined to score 10 points

We lost 5 more this week

103807 - @Sweet Love - 138.50 - hard to compete with Ben's 22 points and no TE scoring
103072 - @scoobus - 137.80 - Jacobs & Jonnu underperformed, and I will say it again - 25 pts by QB's is not as much as you think
104534 - @da_budman - 134.80 - Russell couldn't save him; $47 spent on 4 TE's with zero points
103400 - @Grid71 - 133.10 - no QB in the 30's, no RB or WR in the 20's, no TE, K, or D in double digits
103985 - @coltsuperfan - 100.80 - it was only a matter of time once Dak went down; strong TE duo though
So glad to stay alive one more week to send a huge THANKS to TheWinz for keeping this thread entertaining, Your commentary is awesome. I bet you're crushing your fantasy leagues.

Injuries may decide my fate this week.  I'm OK at QB and WR.  If Jonnu and/or Gesicki get back on track I have no issues there.  RB could be interesting.  Mixon and Carson are questionable and Gibson is on BYE.  If those 2 miss, my RB scores will have to come from CEH, Boston Scott, Zack Moss and Benny Snell.

Thinking cut line might be a bit lower given the BYEs and hoping for at least one of Mixon or Carson to play.

Also, @TheWinz is making this contest within a contest almost more exciting than the actual contest.  Big ups for tracking this!

Had a bad feeling this week when the roster had alright, but not good production. Thank you @Joe Bryantfor keeping this contest in the package. It’s my favorite & keeps me coming back every season.

Thrilled to see most of the bonus teams are still kicking from last week. I am rooting for you to take this thing down!

@TheWinz you are a rock star! Genuine thanks to you for making this small part of the FF community more entertaining.

Team is moving on.  Made it through most of my teams bye week issues, now need to avoid any serious injury bug.  Out of 25 players, only two haven't counted for me yet

- Bryan Edwards WR  - may be back at some point??

- Sam Sloman K-  I know he will come through some week LOL

http://calcomatic.com/EntryLive/106713

Good Luck to all that lurk around on this thread that are still in the contest.

Wilson and Lockett pulled me through in Week 7 but I've been on the brink of elimination the last couple of weeks.  Need some Week 8 magic again!!!

I couldn't agree more.  This contest is my single favorite FF obsession.  I was thinking about buying a 2nd subscription next year, and inviting like 20 regulars to help devise a winning team.
I'd be in.

But ya you've made the contest within the contest the most exciting part.  At this point I just really want to win Joe's and get a lifetime subscription.  That would be so amazing.

I note you said regulars and not experts so I might qualify on that score.  Heh you could assign us each a chunk of budget and position and we'd make up a frankenrooster

I echo the words of others in appreciation of TheWinz making it entertaining and Joe for making it possible.  Week 8 is looking pretty dicey with Gibson and Hopkins on bye and Carson possibly out.  Those guys have been some heavy hitters for me.  Also down a kicker and D because of bye.  On a good note, I won a bottle of booze from my buddy after outlasting him in the contest.

Week 8 will be rough for me with only Jacobs and Scott at RB.   Gibson, McLaurin and Edmonds on bye hurts.
Such an unfortunate time for a bye week for people with Edmonds on our teams. He JUST gets into a position where he'll likely get the bulk of the carries.... and a bye week. After a close scare in week#6 made the cutoff pretty easily last week. Really hoping for a big QB week to offset nearly half my RB's getting 0's in week#8. Having Thielen back from bye should also help.

Sloman cut.  Forbath signed to replace him.  Contest kicker craziness continues.

-QG
I guess he won't get a chance to score for my team. LOL Who knows, maybe with the way kickers shuffle around, he will end up with another team during this contest.

Winz, love the idea of working on a collaborative entry next year, though I'm sure it will die an early death just because those are the breaks, lol.

I'm loosely tracking my ghost entry (eliminated wk 4 by less than a point) but would have easily been eliminated wk 6 as well by a much wider margin, so at this point I've even lost that "missed it by that much" feeling.  Maybe I'll tune back later in the season to see how I would have fared in the final 250 and root for anyone on here who makes it that far.

So good luck to those still remaining, especially in Joe's message board contest!

Thanks for acknowledgment but this week is going to be tough.  Carson+Hyde injury, Gibson bye, Henry against the Stillerz.

Has there ever been a cut line under 100 post week 4?
Lowest post week 4 cut over the last 10 years:

2019 - 125.85 (week 7)
2018 - 142.80 (week 7)
2017 - 116.05 (week 9)
2016 - 134.25 (week 9)
2015 - 128.35 (week 5)
2014 - 131.10 (week 7)
2013 - 127.40 (week 8 )
2012 - 116.45 (week 7)
2011 - 104.90 (week 5)
2010 - 123.50 (week 7)

Week 8 is looking pretty dicey with Gibson and Hopkins on bye and Carson possibly out.  Those guys have been some heavy hitters for me.  Also down a kicker and D because of bye.
And if this week wasn't going to be tough enough already, I lost another kicker with the Sloman cut and Ridley is now down and out.   :toilet:

Cut line still sits at zero, as only 952 teams recorded any points.

QB - Ryan (21.75), Bridgewater (16.80)
2 low scores aren't gonna be doing their owners any favors.  Teddy is more common (137 to 54), but neither was popular to begin (QB's 16 & 25).

RB - Gurley (10.60), McCaffrey (0.00), Smith (0.00), Bonnafon (0.00)
Gurley has the highest RB survival rate in the entire contest (26.38%), but only 62 live owners.  Imagine what his rate what be if his YPC was higher than 3.79?

WR - Samuel (21.40), Jones (20.70), Anderson (9.80), Moore (7.50), Ridley (7.20), Gage (4.50)
2 great scores from 2 rare guys (26 & 21), Robby's first game in single digits, and a few underwhelming scores from Moore, Ridley, and Gage.

TE - Hurst (12.90), Thomas (7.30)
Hurst started as the 7th most common TE, so his 12 pts may be the biggest line mover of the night.  Thomas with his 27 owners and 7 pts won't be a factor.

K - Koo (14.30), Slye (5.90)
Hurst has some competition for biggest line mover, as Koo was the #5 kicker to start this contest.  Slye's score isn't anything to write about, so I won't.

D - ATL (5.00), CAR (4.00)
Meh

Another fun fact I ran across today - Marvin Jones is the only active WR to record 4 receiving TD's in a game... and he has done it twice with 2 different teams!

I'd be curious to compare Thursday games vs. Sunday games over the course of a whole season. Thursdays seem to have a significantly lower point total overall. Just one more factor to consider for the 2021 contest when I'm submitting hundreds of updated lineups before the deadline.🙂

Sliding a bit over the last 3 weeks, but have gotten by.

Week 7 - scored 143.95 (cut was 140.55)
Week 6 - scored 153.95 (cut was 121.15)
Week 5 - scored 187.55 (cut was 148.20)

QB - Watson behind only Murray during the last 3 weeks.  Putting my trust in Cousins vs GB for Deshaun's bye.
RB - CEH, Jacobs, and Gibson doing all the work, while Cohen, Moss, and Gore take up space.  Need Moss to overtake Singletary.
WR - Ridley (x6), Thielen & Allen (x5), Williams, Humphries, and MVS (x2), Fitzgerald (x1), and Edwards (x0) - usage kind of as expected
TE - Gesicki, Goedert, Herndon, Akins - spending $33 on 4 TE's, then getting goose eggs 2 straight weeks sucks balls... wake up guys!
K - Used Sloman once before he was cut, 2 good games from Gostkowski, and Boswell has the other 4 weeks covered
D - Went cheap, and Giants have been the $2 MVP thus far - Cardinals not far behind, but Bengals have blown chunks

Good luck folks

It's been a good run, but I need a small miracle to get through week 8 bye week gauntlet...
I hear that. With miles sanders and Cohen out, I have no running backs. (DJ, Gibson, Chris Thompson on bye). I took a bad gamble with trubisky, and dak is out which leaves me tannehill. He's been great but one of these weeks he won't be.

I can probably eke out decent flex from wr/te, but a big zero from RB makes it unlikely to continue.

You just need a carbon copy of last week, and you won't need any RB's

Still alive, and one of the remaining with Joe's bonus opportunity.  Feels like a good time to do a check-in on how the team is looking at the halfway point in the gauntlet (first week doesn't really count).

                 Score    Cut
Week 1    175.1    0
Week 2    226.9    124.95
Week 3    237.15    158.85
Week 4    144.3    141.6
Week 5    186.75    148.2
Week 6    161.25    121.15
Week 7    169    140.55

Couple really close calls (including last week needing the Wilson-Lockette miracle), but otherwise pretty comfortable with most of the cut lines.

Russell Wilson    $17
Kirk Cousins    $8
Dwayne Haskins    $5

Wilson absolutely a stud as I was predicting, putting up an average score of 40.7 in the weeks he's played. Cousins scored once on Wilson's bye but otherwise looking risky. Haskins call looking terrible. Getting just under 40/week from QB, but need Wilson to keep on the MVP pace as the other two options look... unreliable... at best.  In hindsight would love a mulligan on Cousins and Haskins (had considered Burrows and Herbert at similar salaries, which would be feeling a lot better).

Aaron Jones    $25
James Conner    $23
Jonathan Taylor    $21
Tarik Cohen    $14

Cohen was a bust and leaving the depth here really shallow. Other three steady contributors, and all three have had byes already. Averaging 32.5 for the RB1/2 slots combined, with an occasional flex from the third.  Remaining options all have some risk, but with continued reasonable health I should be able to count on some points each week here, and I think all have upside for a big week if the stars align. In hindsight would love a mulligan on Cohen, but happy with the other three.

Adam Thielen    $21
Tyler Lockett    $18
Michael Gallup    $16
Tyler Boyd    $16
Brandin Cooks    $14
Bryan Edwards    $3

Strength of the team so far, but carrying risk moving forward. Edwards MIA for awhile, Gallup looking like a bad option the rest of the way, but the other 4 going strong. Averaging 31 from my WR1, 21 from my WR2, and pulling in the first flex every week from this pool for another 12.5.   Needed those monster games from Lockette and Cooks to keep me over the cut lines so far, and a bad collective week from the group could send me packing at any point. Two byes done, two still coming up (at least for the likely contributors), and any given week the usage could be... very high... or very not. Still pretty happy with these picks, avoided major injury here and getting solid contributions.

Travis Kelce    $30
O.J. Howard    $7

Kelce averaging 20 a week for me, but the only option moving forward after Howard popped in a couple of flex scores before getting hurt. If Kelce keeps acting like the #1 TE... should be ok (with risk on the bye week), but if injury comes out or usage takes a hit, I'm in trouble.

Dustin Hopkins    $2
Stephen Gostkowski    $2
Sam Sloman    $2
--------------------    -------
Detroit Lions    $2
Cincinnati Bengals    $2
Miami Dolphins    $2

Collectively not getting a ton out of these. A few points each week, but the kicker carousel continues. If I can keep scrounging up a few points from a start-able score each week... every little bit helps.

Overall pretty pleased with the performance of the team. Managed to largely stay healthy, picked players that have been producing, and getting those high-upside weeks to cash in often enough to keep moving on.   Best of luck to everyone still rolling along this week!

Just for fun, made a roster that would still be alive.

QB - Kyler Murray
RB - Alvin Kamara
RB - Derrick Henry
WR - DeAndre Hopkins
WR - Adam Thielen
TE - Darren Waller

This team would still be alive, with no need for the 2 flex spots.

K - Tucker (6), Gay, Gould, Lutz, Zuerlein (5), Bailey, Crosby, Elliott, Fairbairn, Koo, McManus, Myers (4), Badgley, Boswell, Bullock, Carlson, Hauschka, Lambo, McLaughlin, Rohrwasser, Sanders, Seibert, & Slye (3), Catanzaro, Gostkowski, Hopkins, Joseph, Pineiro, & Sloman (2) - total 29 K's for $99

D - PIT & SF (7), BAL (6), BUF, CHI, NE, & NO (5), DEN, LAC, LAR, MIN, PHI, & TB (4), CLE, DAL, GB, HOU, IND, NYJ, SEA, TEN, & WAS (3), ARI, ATL, CAR, CIN, DET, JAX, LV, MIA, & NYG (2) - total 31 D's for $109

My $2383 team with 257 roster spots didn't make the cut in week 7.

With 2 games to go, I'm about 6 above the cut line.  I'll be able to count Boston Scott and CeeDee Lamb (-2.3 and -2.9).  Let's see what happens!

Just for fun, made a roster that would still be alive.

QB - Kyler Murray
RB - Alvin Kamara
RB - Derrick Henry
WR - DeAndre Hopkins
WR - Adam Thielen
TE - Darren Waller
K - Randy Bullock
D - Philadelphia Eagles

This team would still be alive, with no need for the 2 flex spots.
How about now this week?

@TheWinz Ballpark how much do you expect the line to move from now until the end of the week?  I think I may be toast this week being only 2 points above the cut.  Ugh.

Have a few of those on my team — Murray, Thielen, and Waller. Looks like I’m getting cut this week unless Lamb scores around 30 points or so (not likely).

Is calcomatic's cut off up to date?

Is there any chance the line stays below 125 after tomorrow? :oldunsure:

Is calcomatic's cut off up to date?

Is there any chance the line stays below 125 after tomorrow? :oldunsure:
The cut went up 5 points for the DAL/PHI game, and here are the numbers for that game:

QB - Prescott (0.00 - 238 owners), Wentz (17.85 - 23 owners), Dalton (0.00 - 18 owners), Hurts (0.45 - 13 owners)
Based on the numbers above, the cut line probably didn't even know there were QB's in this game.  Actually, there were so few Wentz owners, I decided to look at all 23 individually.  Only 2 teams used the entire 17.85 points, while 1 team used 14.25 (had Garoppolo's 3.60).  Another 6 teams used a very small portion of Wentz's score.  And no, no one has to use Hurts and his half a point.

RB - Scott (8.90 - 89 owners), Elliott (7.80 - 83 owners), Sanders (0.00 - 40 owners), Pollard (7.40 - 35 owners)
Scores like these get you eliminated more often than not.  While I am sure a few owners will advance and be happy, taking single digits is not a recipe for success.

WR - Lamb (8.60 - 315 owners), Gallup (13.10 - 162 owners), Jackson (0.00 - 149 owners), Cooper (1.50 - 42 owners), Arcega-Whiteside (0.00 - 42 owners), Jeffery (0.00 - 41 owners), Reagor (11.20 - 35 owners)
2 common guys and 1 uncommon guy with usable scores.  Not much to see here.

TE - Jarwin (0.00 - 248 owners), Goedert (3.00 - 89 owners), Ertz (0.00 - 55 owners)
Less than 6% of entries scored anything at TE, and the ones that did only got 3 points.

K - Zuerlein (15.70 - 219 owners), Elliott (1.00 - 81 owners)
Greg pushed the line up a decent amount all on his own, with little help from Jake.

D - DAL (12.00 - 160 owners), PHI (14.00 - 50 owners)
2 very good scores, making them big line movers.  963 of the remaining 1509 teams chose 2 or less defenses, and only 4 teams chose both defenses.

If the sad scores above can move the line 5, it's wishful thinking the TB/NYG game will manage only 5 as well.

Going into Monday night's TB/NYG game, let's check in on Joe's 17:

Cut line sitting at 120 right now

@BroadwayG - done at 110; 10.5 points from your entire WR corps will do you in, sorry
@cstruk - 128.9 with whatever NYG can muster, along with Shepard after 7.2 pts
@Galileo - done at 135.4; hoping for a low scoring affair
@neal cassady - done at 121.15; only way he advances is if COVID pushes the game to another week
@bcnfinance - done at 151; sipping drinks in the clubhouse
@gobrowns33 - done at 148.5; having drinks with bcnfinance
@stuckinthemuck - 156.35 with tons left in the tank; too bad others can't borrow his remaining players
@Raging weasel - 167 with Tate counting after 8.3 pts; congrats
@Go DC Yourself - done at 163.05; living to fight another week
@Kujjie - 155.55; 90 pts from the Wilson/Kelce/Dolphins trifecta
@mphtrilogy - done at 109.6; when your D is your top score, you are in for a bad week
@ConstruxBoy - done at 104.75; surprised you made it this long with your ailing RB's
@Titans_fan - done at 132.45; I can see you now, screaming at your TV to tackle anything that moves
@4th and Inches - 171.55; every position scored well - your prize is another week of fun
@themeanmachine - done at 107; one active WR scoring 7 pts is not lucky
@Synthesizer - done at 133.5; I guarantee he is rooting for Titans_fan
@Deamon - 116.9 with only NYG counting after 15 pts; I think your players are spectators after this week

If you are wondering about the order, I chose to list them from date/time submitted.

I'm cooked unless I get a huge night from Evans.  Though I thought I was out last week and was saved by a miracle... so you're saying there's a chance.

137.45 with the Giants +4

Hopefully I can squeeze by another week.  Injuries are piling up. Boston Scott was pretty helpful the last couple weeks getting me points with no other RBs.

I'd bet on 137 being good. Not sure the giants D will help much if at all, but you won't need it. I assume there's like 250 or more other teams between you and the cut.

Depending on your definition of huge, its completely possible...rooting for you and everyone else in this thread still alive!

I can't tell you how many times I said, "Why the f*** is Corey Clement getting touches?" and "Lamb!  Throw it to Lamb!"

I'm hopeful but realistic at the same time.  I'd take a 14-10 game and be happy.  Ownership percentages handy for tonight?  Wondering who to root against the most!
