My MIL has a 2011 Lexus RX350 that locked up on her twice yesterday while out driving. A friend towed the car to his mechanic, who told her the Vehicle Speed Sensor was bad and would need to be replaced. He estimated the part at around $600 and the repair at $2k, but Google has different info, according to my MIL. Can anyone tell me what the process will entail and if it's really going to cost that much? TIA for any info.
ETA: the mechanic said it's the Vehicle Speed Sensor that connects to the transmission, not one of the wheel speed sensors that are mounted in each hub.
