Alright, let's try this.
Here is what I'm thinking. This will be a song draft of any song that was released or peaked in popularity in 2017. I'm not going to be picky about release dates. Anything that was released on a 2017 album is eligible, including live albums. Any single or song released digitally in 2017 is eligible. Anything that charted in 2017 is eligible. Anything that can be reasonably considered a 2017 song is eligible. All genres and styles of music - newcomers to song drafts encouraged.
The main objectives for this draft are highlighting 2017's best songs, generating a collaborative FBG 2017 Spotify playlist (which I will take care of), doing a refresh before our annual album poll and continuing the music discussion from the recently ended Genrepalooza draft.
This in mind, I want to make it easy for people to participate and I want to move through it quickly, so there will be no draft order - schedule for draft picks will be as follows (you can drop out at any time as well if 15 rounds is too many, just post in here that you are doing so):
Sign Up/Discussion - Today (Mon Dec 4)
Round 1 - Anytime Tuesday December 5 - this will establish who is in and let people get their bearings.
Round 2 - Anytime before 3 PM EST Wednesday December 6
Round 3 - Anytime after 3 PM EST Wednesday December 6
Round 4 - Anytime before 3 PM EST Thursday December 7
Round 5 - Anytime after 3 PM EST Thursday December 7
Round 6 - Anytime Friday December 8
Round 7 - Anytime Saturday December 9
Round 8 - Anytime Sunday December 10
Round 9 - Anytime before 3 PM EST Monday December 11
Round 10 - Anytime after 3 PM EST Monday December 11
Round 11 - Anytime before 3 PM EST Tuesday December 12
Round 12 - Anytime after 3 PM EST Tuesday December 12
Round 13 - Anytime before 3 PM EST Wednesday December 13
Round 14 - Anytime after 3 PM EST Wednesday December 13
Round 15 - Anytime before 3 PM EST Thursday December 14
Idea with this schedule is to move through it quickly. Friday afternoon and weekends can be dead times when people don't want to check in - so only one pick per day there. Two picks per day the rest of the time with one morning/one evening - lately a lot of the best discussion happens in the evening but I'm saying after 3 PM so people who want to just do it all during the day at work have that option as well.
