I didn't see one posted yet, so I figured I'd start a thread. I'll lead off with the snap counts I was watching on each team or things that I noticed when looking at snap counts:
ARI WR - Fitz (96%), Kirk (93%), Byrd (88%), KeeSean (76%)
I had read Crabtree was going to be a starter, so kind...
https://www.businessinsider.com/trumps-economic-advisor-national-debt-deficit-spending-2019-7
So it's ok to run up debt during a good economy...
But using a similar annual deficit to stimulate the economy during a recession is bad? mkay
:sigh...
This is not new information (stolen from a reddit post from 11 months ago), but I couldn't find it in here and I think it is important to read and discuss.
I mentioned in my first post in this sub-forum that I'm neither a liberal or conservative. I've never voted straight ticket and always vote...
offseason resources
Saw this on twitter. Thought it was interesting. Obviously a bit will change along the Y-axis with restructuring and cuts, but I wouldn't get too excited about teams in the bottom left-hand corner improving. Teams near the top right have the best odds of making strides this...
Just because the snap count google doc is gone doesn't mean we have to stop discussing snap counts. I've been using this: https://www.lineups.com/nfl/snap-counts plus a few sources on twitter.
Some week 5 snap count observations:
NYJ - despite Crowell's production and the positive game flow...
https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/mack-hollins/
With the news that Faust posted in the Alshon thread (possible PUP), I figured I'd bump the Mack Hollins thread... only to find there wasn't one (searched Hollins in thread titles, got zero results - so let me know if I somehow missed it)...
Facts:
49ers are 0-8
Garoppolo is an unrestricted free agent after this season
They paid their own 2nd round pick (likely very high)
The question is not about New England. Just the 49ers.
So we've officially hit the mark where trends mean something. What have you guys noticed that was not anticipated? There are a lot, but I'll just throw out a few to get it started by glancing at receptions and carries to see what sticks out:
Keenan - it was said he would lose too many targets...
https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-ranking-all-32-offensive-line-units-heading-into-the-2017-season/
Good article. Several weeks before training camp starts, so something to think about/discuss here while relevant news is scarce. Anyone have any other sources or opinions on these lines? ...
Indulge me a bit here... As a Texans fan I was dismayed when we traded away a 2018 2nd, apparently in an attempt to create cap space for Romo, and then failed to land Romo. But I was even more dismayed when we traded away our 2018 1st to trade up for Watson. It's not that I think he's a certain...
I just saw this: http://www.thebackyardbanter.com/reception-perception-2017-offseason-announcement.html
Does that mean that he's not writing for FBG anymore? I take it to mean that even if he is, we will no longer have access to his reception perception articles. Those were probably my favorite...
Not looking for guys that are likely FA's, but guys that range from probably rostered all the way up to the big names. Throw out some names with notes.
Rivers - he's getting old, but I think he could pull a Matt Ryan in 2017. That offense is going to be very good next year. I'm hoping they...
This game being about 50% strategy and 50% luck, we accept that luck plays a huge role and we try to limit it with handcuffs and contingency plans, but which drafted players were the equivalent of banking in a 3 pointer without calling glass?
QB - Matt Ryan - hey, I took him as my QB2 in...
Kind of annoying that FBG doesn't have snap counts or recaps for the MNF games up yet and it is Thursday, but that's another topic, I guess.
As I was looking through snap counts these are the things that stood out to me. Anyone have any other takeaways from reviewing snap counts?
General notes...
MFL is down so I can't log in to check the PDSL drafts, but I feel like both of these guys are going quite late despite significant upside. I'm curious what everyone's take is on these guys and their situation. And for clarity, I'm purely speaking from a 2016 redraft perspective and, although I...
I've been before, but figured I'd try to do a little more research this time. I've read weedmaps, but hard to trust those reviews - seems like everyone has mostly positive, vague reviews, with a few worrisome, detailed negative reviews sprinkled in.
So basically I'm looking for three things...
Which guys are you watching with the most interest this offseason?
The big names that are likely to re-sign will make the headlines (Jeffrey, Cousins, Martin), but I'm most interested for fantasy purposes in the unheralded guys or the guys who have fallen out of favor. Here's my list, roughly...
There is some good discussion about him in the various threads on Rams' skill players, but I figured I'd try to gauge everyone's take on him in his own thread. Some people see this as a boon for Britt and/or Quick since Hill is willing to chunk it downfield despite not being very strong armed...
There used to be a link for a team's stats on the player page. Like if I was looking at Lynch's career stats, there'd be a link for "all SEA stats" near the top of the page. Now I can't find them anywhere.
I couldn't find a topic on this (or even a Lance Moore thread on the first two pages of results for a "lance moore" search).
In 2012, Ben only played 13 games, but the WRs accounted for 2,498 yards. Last year they were good for 2,905. I don't know how the battle between Wheaton and Moore will...
