The ONE sporting event/moment you'll never forgive

Infuriates me to this day that Wake felt the need to take out an ad in the Globe apologizing for the HR. Of course it was 100% on Grady. But Wake was always such a class act. RIP.

Helmet catch. Giants O-lineman had Richard Seymour in a freaking chokehold but no flag.

***Official Academy Awards Discussion Thread*** - “Hollywood’s Biggest Night”

Didn't see Maestro (no interest) or Zone of Interest (like Willie, waiting until I can rent it). My grades for this years' nominees: Boring, so very boring: Past Lives Fine But Forgettable: American Fiction and Barbie Good but not great: Anatomy of a Fall (Courtroom scenes were awesome, rest of...

***Official Academy Awards Discussion Thread*** - “Hollywood’s Biggest Night”

So far the only category (at least that I care about) they've gotten wrong was adapted screenplay. Should have been Oppenheimer IMO.

Battle scenes in Napoleon were cool on the big screen. But it kinda sucked otherwise.

What's the weirdest thing your dog does?

We got so lucky ours doesn't care about stuff like that. Fireworks, thunder. Last week two military helicopters flew over the house slow low the windows shook (sad story, funeral for a pilot who had died in training).... anyway she didn't lift her head up from her nap. But the neighbor putting...

What's the weirdest thing your dog does?

It's a rainy night. Which means our girl pulls one of her oddest quirks. I take her on the vast majority of her walks but on rainy nights, and only on rainy nights, she refuses to go on walks with me. Won't go out the door. But instead will whine and cry and make my wife take her. What do...

Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread)

Just binged Abbott Elementary on Hulu (Season 3 currently airing). I always ignored it since its a network Sitcom, but that was misguided. It's quite good.

Sentenced to 1 year solitary confinement, but you can bring the complete works of one actor or director to entertain you

How about Julia Louis Dreyfuss? I honestly don't think I'd get sick of cycling through Seinfeld and Veep.

    11 months without politics

It brought out the worst in people (myself included). But it was still a better place to discuss politics than anywhere else on the internet. The Forum is better off, but the users are worse off.

The Death/Loss Of Religion In America

Well said. In the early 2000s I was firmly on the side of religion is a net negative. Today I'd probably say I'm neutral. I remain irreligious but no longer have the contempt for organized religion I once did (except the Catholic Church but 12 years of Catholic school will do that to a person)...

Is AAA worth $100 per year?

I don't know if it's "worth it" but I routinely spend more money on dumber things. Keeping AAA is a no brainer IMO. ETA: Forgot to add, I moved a few years ago and now have an AAA office about a 5 minute drive away. Renewed my license there last year. Way more convenient than going through the RMV.
