Went out on Fremont Street until about 3am. Tried to play poker at the Golden Nugget but the wait was too long. Played some blackjack and craps. Had Montgomery to score and Gibbs over rushing yards. Had dinner at the steakhouse downstairs at circa after the game. It was great.

Going to be out in Vegas at the end of October. Will be interesting to see how the city is during Halloween, Sema and a couple weeks before the big F1 race. Needless to say, I’m at that point where I’m excited and counting the days til I get there.

We tried to do a long trip this time to mix it up. Usually it's just in and out in 48 hours. This time was Thursday to Tuesday. What we learned is Thursday to Tuesday was way too long. The body can only handle so much at our age. It was fun, for sure, but I feel like I've been though a war. Had Jets ml so ended on a good note.

Side note - this was my first time doing an NFFC live draft event. Unreal. Like moving to first class from coach. The lunch was top notch catered buffet with steaks, chicken, grilled vegetables, great salad and tons of deserts. Free beer and soft drinks. I had no idea how great they did things at the live events. Drafts were amazing with top notch moderators and giant screen for the draft picks so they don't have the stickers. 60 second clock and everyone on top of their game.

Halloween is fun. Everything is more weird and people are crazier. Golden Tiki or Atomic Liquors are worth a visit if you can.

Nice. Anyone that knows me knows Best Friend is my favorite Las Vegas restaurant. We went Wednesday night as soon we got there. So good.

I loved Circa. Was there for the Thursday and monday night games. Only $25 per seat for those nights and they gave you drink tickets so felt more like a free seat with a three drink minimum. For the Sunday games it was something $400 for one of those seats so we did the Park MGM sportsbook bar that day. Like you said the Park MGM place was just a regular sportsbar type feel with mediocre-ish food. Went to the Wynn for the Sunday night game and then Aria after that. Both great. Hit the hidden speak easy in Aria late night.

The one thing the Park MGM for sure has on Circa is that it's no smoking. So nice to be in a place were you're not choking on cigarette smoke all night.

I love Circa. It’s now one of my favorite places to stay. Next time I’ll skip the stadium swim view room. My windows vibrated rhythmically most of the night bc of the the massive bass coming out of its PA system.

The body can only handle so much at our age. It was fun, for sure, but I feel like I've been though a war. Had Jets ml so ended on a good note.

Was it nonstop gambling/drinking/eating?

My last trip to Vegas was about a week long and I wish it was even longer. But I wasn’t gambling a whole lot everyday. If you’re mixing in non-gambling stuff like Area15, taco scooter tour, Red Rock, etc…no such thing as too long in Vegas.

Ha. Thanks GB. I may try to do something on that soon. It was a lot of fun. The NFFC guys are all super into Value Based Drafting and hammering WRs since you start 3. So I zigged a little and started with McCaffrey, Mahomes (6 point passing TD) and Mark Andrews to open. Love that start. Mainly though I was blown away by how nice the NFFC experience was. From setup to food to the draft experience. Next level compared to other events.

Going to Vegas at the end of the month, to meet some friends and climb (they’re staying with family). My wife was planning to join us, but a scheduling glitch may prevent her from going.

I may still go, but was wondering about lodging for a single guy in Vegas. I‘m not interested in gambling or any of the usual Vegas debauchery, and prefer to be closer to Red Rock Canyon.

I was thinking Summerlin, possibly Red Rock Resort, but am open to other recommendations. Any insight, @offdee?

Red Rock Resort is a no brainer in my opinion. Clean, friendly, and right where you want to be for your activities.

Is there a reason why you stay in the original 47 rooms? I’ve stayed at the El Cortez a few times. Their regular rooms are “meh” at best, but they are affordable and have elevator access. I’ve stayed at their Cabana suites located across the street and those are decently nice. They look to be converted apartments and have a retro theme. They also have elevators.

I like different. Some of them have a lot of extra room. Some used to have screened-in porches that have been enclosed. Mine has a story, which will have to wait until after work.

BTW, the ones across the street were formerly known as the Ogden Suites, and they were pretty grim. Sharon Stone's death scene in Casino was filmed there.

I only played sparingly on slots but didn't notice an issue where I was. Not sure about rating players.

I’m curious to hear about the story about your room when you have time. So I’m guessing that you actually are able to request a particular room number? If so, that’s pretty cool.

I believe you about the Ogden suites. With that said, I have been going to Vegas for my entire life and have lots of contacts/connections there. Without going into many details—I can tell you that every hotel/motel in Vegas that has been around for a while has some grim stories.

When Bugsy did not return, Green realized he was holding $600K (1947 dollars!) of the mob's money.
