Just curious Scoresman, but I was wondering if there will be a way to see everyone's top 75? Perhaps as tabs on your Top 200 Spreadsheet? Love to find hidden gems that didn't make the list in some way from other's lists.

Yes to all and once it's done I'd encourage everyone to post theirs and talk about the movies that didn't make it in.

We're also going to allow people to revise lists based on movies they forgot or discovered, and come up with a final top 200.

Also will have the Dan Lambskin approved "Top 200 Horror that doesn't cross any other genre boundaries" list.

Oh you guys will get a list alright

I did not rank it.

10 Cloverfield I liked.

I don't, however, get the appeal of Event Horizon.
Zelda in Pet Sematary and eyeless wife in Event Horizon were two scenes I have long avoided in horror.

It has nostalgia for me. I went with a group and one was crying in the theater because she was so scared and another had nightmares for a couple days. That said, I don't think it holds up and isn't a great movie.

Yeah on Event Horizon. I saw it at the theater and barely slept that night.

Yeah Event Horizon is an uneven horror movie for me. Some great sci-fi terror but it fizzled for me in the last act. Sam Neil is always great though and he gives a dn creepy performance here.
Loved Sam Neil's performance. Somewhat agree on the last act, although I didn't notice the lagging so much the first time I saw it. It's one that doesn't work so well for rewatching.

I was wondering if this one was going to be in the horror discussion. I don't initially see it as horror but I can see it be considered as horror. If I was making a list I am not sure this would make it on because of the is it or is it not but in the end I think i put it on.

My # 2 movie. Sad to see it this low. There was talk in the thread about rewatching horror recently, and this might be my most rewatched horror movie. The atmosphere this movie gives off with the lighting, camerawork and especially the music is like no other. It's like a dark, twisted, modern fairy tale.

Goblin, who did the music for the movie has been touring, playing the soundtrack live while the movie shows. I saw this a couple years ago live and it was an amazing experience. Highly recommend if they are still doing this.

It would have been higher had I played too - was too busy/etc to do another list thing. But this is top 3 for me for all the reasons you mention. The story is pretty meh, and the ending is a little silly, but man, that atmosphere (and some pretty brutal deaths)... so good.

Aged horribly…..I recently rewatched this stinker. I remember loving it in high school when it came out.

Now it feels like a total comedy but we know it was not trying to be at all. It was a totally serious movie.

Pin Head is basically the only redeeming quality and it’s not enough to carry it anymore.

One of these weird ones where the nostalgia simply did not hold up on my most recent viewing.

Something that is so endearing to me about all the Toho monster movies is:

The English Dubbed versions feel far more silly because of how bad the dubs are.

Then you watch the same films in Japanese with English sub titles and damn…..it’s serious **** going on.

One of this weird ones where the nostalgia simply did not hold up on my most recent viewing.
I watched it not long ago having not seen it since it first came out and I liked it more than I think I did the first time.
Lol quite the opposite for me. Funny how perceptions differ.

Worlds better than the remake on Hulu. I couldn't even finish it

Whoops, not sure if it was my fault or just me forgetting there was a 50s version but my vote was for the 80s Jeff Goldblum movie. I don't care one way or another if you adjust the ranks.
Same. My vote was
for 1986’s The Fly.

Brundle Fly!!!!
I’m getting…better

Yeah I assumed if there was no year provided, then it's the original.

Really liked this one. The found footage segments were great. The only thing I didn't like and it prevented me from ranking it higher:

I thought they should have made it a serial killer doing everything instead of the demon they used that looked like it was masquerading as the bassist for a nu-metal band.
