It was ok, but I got hung up on the entire set-up. Re-colonizing the only island that contained a rage virus that could easily wipe out humans? If they had just made the basis of the movie that no one was evacuated after a certain point and these were survivors that had military protection, then **** goes wrong, I'd be ok with it. Just a "me" thing.
It didn't make my list but it was amazing what they did with a shoestring budget
I see this was Gator's last one in. This was my last one out and my first alternate had one of my original 75 been deemed ineligible, which would have made this the first to appear on 4 lists. Very innovative and one that has stuck with me many years later. YMMV as to whether this is superior to the American remake but both are worthy of consideration.
I guess Bad Santa is a horror film for those that have an aversion to backdoor adventures, but this is still a tough sell.

Pleasantly surprised to see this on others' lists. This is a hidden gem from Finland that everyone needs to watch. It's considered a horror comedy in Finland, and one of the interesting things about this movie is to see how a different country/culture has very different styles of humor.
I was going to do an update of seen vs not heard of/seen but it looks like the spreadsheet is only updated to pick 171. Maybe I'm not in that special group that gets the updated sheet and need a subscription or something.

This was filmed in Chicago in my old neighborhood with some of the scenes happened on our block.
I saw this on the silver screen and was really blown away how great it was. My son went with me ti this and he was floored.

This movie is insane!!! A gore fest romp!!! And Art The Clown is seriously one of the most disturbing and sinister baddies to ever slash in horror.
This movie affected me as a child…and not in a good way.
I’m not a big DC fan but this and another one that I’m sure will come up absolutely kick ***
Haven’t seen part 2 yet it’s on my list though.

This is a top 100 movie for me, but I don’t classify it as horror. However, I won’t begrudge anyone that labels it that way.
STICK WITH IT! I promise it's worth it - the movie explains why the beginning was so rough. The credits have scenes of the making of a movie about the making of a fake movie.
Of course it doesn't live up to the first movie, but I liked that it took a different tone entirely - people coming in prepared and armed (Aliens) instead of stumbling frantically toward safety (Alien). It's a zombie movie, so you know how that ends... but I like that setup for a second movie. Good cast, well directed, great opening, some good chaos when it breaks... I agree with the rating sites.
I bumped this one to the top of watch list because of the comedy aspect.

This one blew me away when I first saw it at the theater and has kept impressing me after many rewatches. Bill Paxton is amazing here, as an actor but even more so as a debut director, establishing tonal shifts and perfect pacing for this mysterious small-town creeper. Matthew McConaughey is equally impressive in his role, elevating this already strong narrative, and Powers Boothe is always a welcome presence in any movie. Since I firmly buy this as a horror, I ranked this above scarier movies based on the overall quality of the film itself, resulting in this elite placement on my list.

Obviously I'm the oddball here.
I love the original WAY more and have an affection for foreign psychological thrillers for whatever odd reason. Also had Host way higher than others. Also love those Swedish/Norweigian crime series. Good chance I have a defective section of my brain. I feel vindicated for no reason other than people including G rated movies in their top 10.
