Flying Southwest for the first time.

This is how I feel too. SW is very clear about what they will deliver. And they do a good job of delivering consistently. I liked them a lot more 20 years ago when a) their flights were a lot cheaper than most major airlines, consistently, and b) I had very little money so price was my #1...

Flying Southwest for the first time.

Years ago I was flying home to Chicago (from Pittsburgh). Due to convenience (I live closer to O’hare than Midway) I almost always fly United. So anyway, there were storms in the Pittsburgh area that night, and my United flight was delayed multiple times. I got the sense the flight would be...

Flying Southwest for the first time.

I usually try to sit in the middle seat between two hot mid-20s women who look like pron stars.

    32-Hour Work Week

A lot of “skilled trades” are doing well. Many other folks are not. I’m also happy to hear that GCs and trade contractors are doing well.

    32-Hour Work Week

A lot of “white collar jobs” are simply people pushing paper. Activity rather than productivity. “Signaling activity.” Someday when we are better able to measure productivity of white collar jobs, compensation levels will plummet for a ton of really unproductive and unimpactful people...

    32-Hour Work Week

I can appreciate that framing. Unfortunately my hypothesis is that much like driving skills, most people think they are above-average productivity relative to the average worker. Which means most people who work 32 hours will simply be 20% less productive. Again - that’s just my hypothesis...

2023-24 NBA (Playoffs!) Thread: “this team is really good” a terrified Minnesota fan mumbles to himself

Just walked out of MSG. Crowd was chanting “F Trae Young!”

    32-Hour Work Week

Exactly. My post didn’t mention poor people at all, and I explicitly noted earlier that many poor people work extremely hard, and many rich people are quite lazy. This entire topic is about the mindset of wanting something for free. Wanting to work 20% less for the same pay, for no apparent...

    32-Hour Work Week

No, you are inferring that I’m equating hard work with success and laziness with being poor. Read my comment, word for word, without interpreting. And to be super clear, I have a ton of extremely hard working friends and relatives who live on the margins. The system has screwed them big time...

Nothing I wrote disagrees with that sentiment. I’ve been massively fortunate. Others I know have been massively unlucky.

    32-Hour Work Week

I’m 100% ok with it. Lazy people, on average, already have it way too good in this country. Hard work and sacrifice should matter.

Well, Lamar hates handing the ball off. So anything is possible.

They definitely play quality team D. And Suggs is a crazy good defender.

2023-24 NBA (Playoffs!) Thread: “this team is really good” a terrified Minnesota fan mumbles to himself

Suggs fouled on back to back 3’s. Refs didn’t call the first and only grudgingly called the 2nd. Then Mitchell flops on the other end and gets the call. How was Orlando the 5 seed? They are terrible shooters.

    RB Derrick Henry, BAL

What stats do you project to hit that RB 12-13 range?
