Well, you’re in Oregon. Me thinks all the hippies and frontiersmen out there would welcome that.

They're not. They're just very territorial about their space.

I'm imagining some scientist getting pranked with a whoopee cushion and then thinking, "if we scale this up, we might have something here ..."

I'm hoping for a massive outbreak of plantar fasciitis on the women's team, leading to a call for foot massage volunteers. Well, the men's team, too. History says I'm not choosy when it comes to workin' the feet ...

So a good sequence over the past week: - had a successful colonoscopy last Tuesday (no polyps). My dad died of colon cancer when I was in college, so comforting to know I don't have any issues. - on Friday night I formally accepted a new gig for next year as a full-time, visiting instructor at...

Need Help - Naming Our Larger Footballguys Community

I was thinking along the lines of something simple like The Squad, as in "Join the Squad." But that's still too generic, so I'll riff off of Willie's idea, and suggest The J Squad. "Join the J Squad" has a nice flow to it with the J..J, and Squad links to the football nature of the site. An...

    Colonoscopy preparation today.....

Colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon (May 1st). I've been fasting all day, and it hasn't been a big deal. I start drinking stuff tonight from 6-8 pm, and then again from 7:45-9:45 am (starting 6 hours before the procedure), so I'm not expecting an enjoyable night.

    Shogun coming to TV (again)

Maybe at the start of season two we’ll see a line of little Japanese toddlers chanting a high-pitched “pull, pull, pull” while tugging on a thin rope as they extract the rosary out of the water.

Rooting for sure! I hope it goes well. For those final miles, don't be shy about finding some big dude and shadow running behind him as he blocks some of the wind.

    At NYC jury duty... AMA

My cousin was with the FBI and did hostage negotiations. A story he heard from other agents, and which I've shared on these boards before: Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, lived in a small place on a hilltop, and he used to ride his bike down the hill and into town, where he would mail his bombs...

Collectively, A thread to celebrate our kids Non-Athletic accomplishments.

We had our 5 y.o. grandson over at our house (his usual Friday with us), and while having lunch, he suddenly raised his hand to shut off conversation. After some silence, he explained that Phil Collins’ In The Air Tonight was on the radio (which I hadn’t noticed) and he had to hear the drum...

Hey GB - FYI, I almost went into music instead of business as a career …as a percussionist (band/orchestral). But I wasn’t skilled with mallet instruments, and went with accounting. No major regrets, but I always wonder… I’ll always be interested to hear about your son’s development with it!
