I don't think the hype was from anything other than what people saw of his running ability on the field. He did not get opportunities as a rookie last year because he was 3rd on the depth chart with Reggie Bush there and Daniel Thomas having a better grasp of the offense (I don't think anyone...
Everything I saw from Miller in the preseason had me thinking this was going to be his break out year. I'm fairly shocked at his output in Sunday's game. I didn't think he was the next coming of Marshall Faulk or Barry Sanders but I felt he was going to be a top 15 back. I was in a bar during...
My favorite is when someone flames another user for not adding anything to the thread by simply quoting his post with a hugely sarcastic "great input". Love that one.
Have any of you seen any advantage in going with one vs the others? Last year I was playing expert leagues thinking the tighter salary cap would give me an advantage with less luck involved, but then I thought possibly all the fish were flocking to the beginner leagues. Of course, I like to...
I don't agree with the commish playing for free but a %25 discount is a nice way to "tip" your commish for all his hard work. I can flip this around on all these people arguing this. What's up with the 11 other douchebags in your league that expect the same guy to run the league by himself for...
Yeah, I commish a dynasty league with salary cap that you would have no problem taking a discount on. It's pretty much a 2nd job with how complicated the league is. We have to manage franchise tags, UFA auctions, RFA auctions, rookie draft, Final FA auction, etc. All salaries have to be...
I actually take a $25 discount on a $100 league (not my rule and it's a rolling commish between volunteers). I see no problem with it. If it's so easy, why do 8 of the 12 members of this league not volunteer. Because they don't want to deal with it. Just because I enjoy fantasy football...
I never "hung my hat" on his 2011 year. And you replied saying that to a reply to my comments. I'm simply stating this guy is the most talented rb on this roster by far. I'm also saying that something was going on within the organization with Matthews and I'm betting it was an issue he had...
Agreed. There is definitely risk. That's why I would not own him as an RB1 or RB2. But I'm getting him in leagues as my RB3 and I can't see any better value out there. Guys like Shane Vereen, Montee Ball, Chris Ivory, and Eddie Lacy are at about the same ADP and I think he has a higher...
I'll also say that losing Norv Turner is a PLUS for Matthews. I owned him in 3 leagues last year and watched many SD games. I can't tell you how many times I saw him come in and rip off a couple nice runs showing twice the burst of Ronnie Brown and Jackie Battle, yet Turner would yank him...
This is great analysis. I will say though, all it takes is an injury or two to players listed above him and maybe more touches for him than expected and you have a high end RB2 or a low end RB1 that you got in the 6th round. I'll take that all day as my 3rd RB.
Lava .... quick question. Have you ever seen Vincent Brown actually play? I play the numbers game as well in addition to trusting what I see players do on the field. Since you're so interested in the history of numbers. Did you bother to develop a list of players with top ten combine numbers...
ok bostonfred ... those are much better highlights than the ones I saw. He still seems to run a little upright for my liking but his lateral movement and vision was solid in those highlights. I'm not overly concerned with his 40 times as he looks to have more burst and wiggle than I saw...
