***Chicago Bears Thread*** A dynasty begins...

I think if a team is trading up from the teens to #9 for Mccarthy, it would be at least another 2nd round pick, depending what slot. For me, if one of the blue chips (odunze, nabers) is there, I would just draft them and forget about the trade down. If not, I would try to trade down at least...

    TE Brock Bowers, LV

I wouldn't HATE this for the Bears, though I would prefer they trade back to 15-ish to grab him, as I think he might slide. It's easy to see his talent, but a little bit more difficult to project his usage in the NFL. He needs to go to a team with a brilliant offensive schemer. I think any of...

    TE Brock Bowers, LV

I was just about to say this - I think his best comp is Aaron Hernandez. I think he may not be quite the physical specimen that Hernandez was, but their best use cases are very similar. I would give the edge to Bowers when it comes to hands and playmaking. His college film is beyond impressive...

How Can The Forum Be Better? Your Thoughts?

I get that and admire the ethos behind that decision. As someone who doesn't always subscribe, but does ALWAYS spend hours on these forums, I certainly wouldn't mind clicking on some sponsors to contribute to the significant cost and effort these forums must require. I think that the level of...

How Can The Forum Be Better? Your Thoughts?

This will be unpopular. You should sell ads on the forums. Lots of eyeballs on here, I have to imagine it would generate a pretty good revenue stream. Use the money to keep subscription prices low or give your staff a raise. It wouldn't be THAT annoying to see ads, seems like a missed...

    QB Caleb Williams, CHI

I kind of need him to be exceptional, I have allowed far too much of my life's meaning to be influenced by the vagaries of NFL sundays, it isn't right, but it is. I want to love him, really I do - but I wasn't blown away by this pro day (not that that really matters, I WAS blown away by johnny...

I think it would take multiple 1st round picks, and probably not even then, to get Crosby. I do like this idea though. Trading fields for a player may be a better option.

***Chicago Bears Thread*** A dynasty begins...

If they take MHJ at #1 I might have to resign my fandom. If they trade back a bit and grab him, I'd be displeased, but still a fan, as long as they grab a QB at #9. Maybe Williams isn't the guy, but I've been watching the Bears since 1983 (6 years old) and I'm ready to have a quarterback that I...

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that the Bears should have paid that for Ridley. I meant to highlight that we have significant money remaining, relative to the rest of the league. At some point, you have to spend it. I wouldn't want to overpay for Ridley but, at this point, I wish that they had...

***Chicago Bears Thread*** A dynasty begins...

The Titans just paid 50 million guaranteed on a 4/92 deal for Ridley. I think that means that the Bears are now third in available cap space with 57 Million. What are they saving it for? Really surprised they haven't landed a single big, or even decent-sized, fish.

This feels like the wrong font size for a signing of this magnitude.

Yeah, at that price I am pretty happy with Everett. I was afraid they might offer big $$$, as the Bears seem to have been outbid on a couple of guys.

Just signed Gerald Everett. Hopefully not too expensive. I don't hate it, but I also don't love it. The temperature of the Bears free agency is luke warm.

Well, I'm certainly glad that someone thinks Swift will be good for the Bears. I have enjoyed so many of his spectacular runs, but his performance in the aggregate seems to be lacking.

I'd like for them to add Curtis Samuel, if they can get him for a decent price. Other than Hunter and Williams, there don't seem to be a lot of impact players at positions the Bears need. Maybe DJ Reader could be fun? Chase Young scares me a bit. Maybe throw a lowball offer at a guy like Kyle...

Anyone else think that pollard or derrick henry would have been a better acquisition than swift? I don't hate swift, but to pay him the same as those two doesn't make sense to me. I think adding derrick henry could have been huge for this team and their locker room.

What I love about your comments is that they are equally enjoyable as schtick or as honest proclamations. I just re-read your posts from both of those vantage points, if you are trolling, then it is really artful, if you are serious, then it does give me a slight increase in optimism. Well done Sir.

I will always care about the defense, I feel that is essential to the Bears identity. Also, Caleb Williams is a generational prospect, who knows how that will translate to the NFL. He could easily bust, or just be average. I see lots of eggs, but I'm not counting any of them until they are chickens.

I'm going to hold off on a declaration of bed ****ting at this early stage of FA, but I do share Flapgreen's concerns. Paying market rate+ for RB would have been my choice only after securing positions of greater importance. It could be fun, I'll enjoy watching Swift, but I'd rather have seen...

    2024 Free Agency Discussion

This is an interesting take. I have always felt like Sanders was overrated, and Swift was underrated. As a Bears fan I'm not too thrilled that they are spending on RB, but I would MUCH rather have Swift than Miles Sanders at the same price. ETA - I would, however, slightly prefer Pollard to...
