Crack The Sky hit huge in Baltimore and almost nowhere else. They were out of WV, but their record distributor screwed up and shipped most all of their debut LPs to Baltimore record stores.
They were a really good band and it's hard to pigeonhole them. They had some prog in them, but also some...
I don't know - I think that schedule may be tougher than some may imagine.
Every team in the AFCN is at least as talented as Washington. The NFCE is what it is. Bears, Cards, Falcons, & Bucs aren't demonstratively worse on paper. Wins are gonna be tough.
That said, I do believe Washington's...
I think Tim did a better job of showing aliens what music sounded like in 1974 than any other of his countdowns. By this, I mean that - if you spun the dial that year - this countdown represented the music world pretty well.
I see a trainwreck coming for 1976
You've shocked me. I did not see this one coming. After you posted #2, I was racking my brain for what #1 would be. "Lady Marmalade" never even crossed my mind.
If the bad blood had stayed contained to the PSF, that would have been bad enough. But, it didn't - the grudges spilled over into other areas of this place and (IMO) moderation became untenable.
Sembello apparently didn't know who Stevie Wonder was when he tried out for his band (yeah, ok....). Also, according to Stevie, Sembello is Italian and not white (I kind of believe this - Wonder is a little.....um..... different).
Wonder was on one of music's all-time runs at this point. He was producing so much music he couldn't record it all. To the point where he was throwing A-List material to artists no one had ever heard of, like Rufus. He also produced some really good albums for his wife Syreeta at the same time...
I know you're asking others but, since you quoted my post.........
Mine still works fine. The pods, once they get older, don't produce like they did when they were young. I'll put 4 in now instead of 2 to get the same yield, though I haven't bought any new pods in a while.
Stevie Wonder and Van Morrison are two of rock's best music-makers, yet neither featured electric guitars on most of their records. You'd think that more would have followed in their footsteps, but no - the AOR Industrial Complex doubled down to the point where Van Halen (of all people) got...
Agreed. My guess is that a few Senators' campaigns will see a pretty big jump in donations in their next elections.
I went to a game at FedEx back in the '90s vs the Cardinals (Boomer was QBing the Cards!) - when it was new - and had to park like a mile away and the stadium was already a dump...
I got annihilated in your Dylan thread for saying Stevie Wonder was a better (& the best) topical songwriter in rock history. I stand by my opinion and this song is one of the building blocks to support my stance.
