I was watching some Polk highlights last night and he does remind me of Puka. One thing I also noticed was Penix doesn't seem to have the greatest accuracy, and Polk managed to catch a lot of badly thrown balls. I think if he and Maye continue to develop and gel, that could be a great combo.

Hard disagree. Sitting and observing as opposed to playing and learning doesn't seem to have any noticeable impact on rookies IMO. I agree, maybe pump the brakes on tossing him out there for a couple weeks but he needs to play this year.

I don't disagree that the Pats need more weapons, but I think we're looking at this in a chicken and egg scenario. I see it as "get the QB (chicken)" first. You see it as "get the weapons (eggs)" first. Given how anemic the Pats were on offense they kind of had to do both this season with...

I'm of the opinion that rookie QBs require, at minimum, one and a half season in the same offense to truly see what they've got. Beyond that, there needs to be noticeable improvement at some point. If there is no improvement, move on. Personally, I think Mac will have success somewhere it was...

Sounds like Puka. Maybe wishful thinking haha

I think there are two lanes of thought: 1) Patriots try to make progress this year, improving over the bad 2023 season. or 2) Full rebuild and all aspects are in development. Final standing of 2024 season doesn't really matter. Personally, I think #2 is better suited to what the Patriots need...

Dejean feels like a "if he's still there you gotta take him" type guys. Pats D could be real solid going into the future with him and Gonzo. Give the rookie QB some short fields.

Sounds like 9ers are more open to moving Deebo. 3rd for Deebo sounds closer than a 3rd for Aiyuk.

Cousins maybe not close to being back? Otherwise... wth??

    WR Brandon Aiyuk, SF

Also, those stats don't really mean all that much in a vacuum. #10 out of 21 is barely top half. The Broncos threw deep a lot because they were typically trailing. ADOT is a stat I don't really like as a whole but especially for a QB (means slightly more for a WR, and even then really only for...

    WR Brandon Aiyuk, SF

Well yes and no. It makes a little more sense for a team like SF to trade away Aiyuk and sign a rookie/someone else to save money. I'm not saying it's a great idea, and as JohnnyU pointed out, Aiyuk is an FA in 2025, so it's far from iron-clad that they don't deal him IMO.

    WR Brandon Aiyuk, SF

    1) If the Pats draft a QB I find it very difficult to believe Brissett is starting all 17 games. They would want to see what they have/develop that asset now so they can continue to rebuild. No QB = no rebuild. 2) I'd much rather have a proven commodity (Aiyuk) than whatever they would get at...

    WR Brandon Aiyuk, SF

Yeah exactly my point. Offensive weapons (specifically WRs) are their biggest priority IMO.

What are their other higher priority needs outside of a rookie QB?

Besides more money, the undisputed #1 offensive weapon and probably biggest star on a big market team.
