    Family Vacation- Charlotte & Ashville

I can get New Belgium here at home (Cincy) and have seen a little hi wire as well. Will have to check out the others. Biltmore. Never been. Family is not history buffs. Most museums get a roll of the eyes, but this looks to be a potential bridge into more knowledge things.

    Family Vacation- Charlotte & Ashville

Wife did something like this for the Disney trip (which made the vacation) and I like having ‘something’ for every day but this is next level stuff for a normal vacation. Glad it works for you guys.

    Family Vacation- Charlotte & Ashville

Wife has medical condition where she can’t get too taxed or she’ll pass out so blue ridge parkway may be more our speed. If it’s an ‘easy’ hike probably in the 1.5-2 mile range is doable.

    Family Vacation- Charlotte & Ashville

Planning the family vacation which will include driving to Charlotte to see family for a few days, and a few in Asheville. I've done some research on both places but it's often the non google endorsed spots that turn out to be great. Looking for advice from those in the area or have been in the...

    Bourbon guys

Uh oh, When Ron Swanson 'only' has 51 bottles, and your 60+ deep and still have the basement to go count(~40) ... you might have a problem. Thankfully I have a pretty understanding wife. I know Icon's got me beat and maybe AAA. Need to get down and finish the spreadsheet. I already need to...

    Designing/Building a House

Depending on your layout you might be able to fix 6 and 7 by turning the stupid desk into a pantry. We have the same situation in our kitchen. In a space between two openings (dining room and mud/laundry) I have a double oven and that stupid desk 'built in' together. The plan when we remodel is...

    Bourbon guys

I took your advice a few weeks ago while hunting and grabbed the Rye (again shaking my head that I picked up a bottle of JD- long story TLDR version got WAAAYY too far gone a long time ago to the point that to this day a sniff of the OG makes me nauseous.) Cracked the Rye open this past weekend...

The ONE sporting event/moment you'll never forgive

I can remember being in Linder Business Center 'studying' while watching the game when Kenyon went down. Such a gut punch and you knew by his reaction it was something bad. That was OUR year. Dropped to a two seed, and out in the second round. What could have been...

Going on an Alaskan Cruise - Ever Been?

Took one about a decade ago. Some general observations/comments: -go on the excursions or rent a car and explore on your own. There isn't a lot to do otherwise in a lot of the stops. - make sure you get a room with at least a window, balcony would be ideal. One of my favorite things was going...

Telling Your Kids Santa Is Real

Firm believer in keeping the magic going as long as possible. I eeked out another year or two with the following: Xmas eve we always go to inlaws and stay pretty late (which made lugging presents in from hiding spots a little tipsy interesting; especially the big wheel mentioned a few posts...
