FFA Top 200 Horror Movies of All Time: #51 - Sinister

No. I assume that one doesn't hold up. Do I remember correctly that Cronenberg was the creep doctor in that one?

I agree with both you and Todem. Original is pretty bad on rewatches but it's still >>>>> the remake. There is another Barker from the 90s I remember loving at the time but have been afraid to rewatch. Looks like it's on HBO, so maybe I will try soon.

It would be great to have you in the conversation! You have some catching up to do. ;) Now also go to the horror countdown thread and let them know about what is and isn't horror...

FFA Top 200 Horror Movies of All Time: #51 - Sinister

I need to lay off the weed. I totally have seen this recently and the f/X do not hold up here. Should get a point off for the opening music too.. I guess this goes to my comments to Lambskin, overall I'll get sucked into a found footage movie. Ones like this have scares but also...

FFA Top 200 Horror Movies of All Time: #51 - Sinister

I see it's on Paramount in 4k, so I might grab my headphones and see if this one can still freak me out. Might as well watch something on it before the sub expires. My memory is for me it's closer to a Pet Sematary in that there are some great scenes that still scare me, but overall I...

FFA Top 200 Horror Movies of All Time: #51 - Sinister

I agree with you on some of it, but it works on me when done well and the bolded is basically the point of the subgenre, no? It either works for you or not, and I find myself getting sucked into found footage movies more than most horror movies. Some I think have great plots and ideas, and...

Lol. Fair. Question for you and others submitting lists - how often do you rewatch movies and long has it been since you have seen movies like Event Horizon?

Zelda in Pet Sematary and eyeless wife in Event Horizon were two scenes I have long avoided in horror. It has nostalgia for me. I went with a group and one was crying in the theater because she was so scared and another had nightmares for a couple days. That said, I don't think it holds up...

Huh, I thought Shaun would rank a bit higher.

I don't seem to like Taylor-Joy or prequels as much as the masses, but we will see. I didn't see Fury Road in the theater but want to catch this one in that format if I can.

I think it was an Oscar nomination a couple years ago? It's been in on my Criterion queue since then, but I haven't clicked it yet.
