Maybe 6 weeks in with YoutubeTV after 20 years with DIRECTV. Much easier transition than I expected. A few things I miss, dislike, or haven’t figured out:
Miss channel numbers for easy flipping
Miss MLB network
I’m now in a weird MLB blackout situation that I didn’t have before. Makes no sense...
Not quite the same, but many years ago on a youthful night out I grabbed someone else’s receipt out of the pile at the club ATM. Wow was that a sobering moment the next day when I saw the amount of the huge withdrawal. I don’t think the account balance was printed, so it wasn’t obvious that the...
If you’ve ever visited their website, or attempted to use their app, you won’t be surprised that they also had small-time checks and balances for their controls. Big time company in 2024 still running their business like fantasy is in its infancy of the 90s.
My experience with their best ball...
Agreed. A company needs to figure this out soon. I don’t even mind the slight buffer going from channel to channel, nor needing to subscribe to a few different services. Having to bounce between Prime and my primary service took forever, and led me to rarely watch the Thursday games.

I already have Hulu/Disney/espn via Verizon. What I’m seeing on the Hulu site is a live tv option for $75, or to go up a buck to $76 for it to include h/d/e. Weird that they only give you savings of $1 if you don’t want or need the apps.
Good to hear! I’m not worried about the cost of extra apps as I already subscribe or have free access to the ones I use. Those costs are kinda fixed for me.
As for price, I’ve been loyal to DTV and still like their product. But my bill is going to get near $200 once a 40/mo credit expires. Any streaming service under $100 will save me a ton.
Getting ready to make the streaming plunge. Been with DTV for 20 years. A few questions:
Is there a live streaming service that integrates best with Roku devices?
I’m a channel flipper. Which streaming service is best for this?
Is there a way to cleanly blend other apps (Disney+, AppleTV...
