Collectively, A Thread To Celebrate Our Kids Athletic Accomplishments

Baseball sure is a funny game. They finished 2nd in the conference, got destroyed by the #3 seed in the first game, 34-11, won the next 2 and got to today's championship game, a return match against the #3 seed. They carried a 3-2 lead into the 3rd but surrendered 4 in that frame. One swing...

    Bourbon guys

Do you open every bottle you buy? Yes How many bottles do you have? 13; 4 Scotch, 5 bourbon (2 of which are 1.75L), 2 rye, 1 American single malt, 1 'infinity' bottle. What percentage of your bottles are open? 100% I've made a pact with myself to not have any more than what I currently have...

    ______ Passed Away Today, RIP

Wasn't sure how to slip the Mellotron into my write-up, so thanks for adding. He probably wouldn't have ever used one without the personnel change after their first hit, Go Now. Isn't life strange?

    ______ Passed Away Today, RIP

Just learned OG Moody Blues founding member Mike Pinder passed away yesterday, aged 82 years. Went from being part of a wannabe R&B group to providing a wall of sound for one of the earliest progenitors of prog/psychedelic pop, Pinder was the first to retire, playing his last notes with the...

Today was the last home games ever for my son's alma mater's baseball team (for those unfamiliar, he had an amazing career with this team and they still call him the program's GOAT). He graduated 2 years ago and despite having a year of eligibility, he chose to not cough up the tuition and play...

    Bourbon guys

If you can make the trip to PA, I found it on the shelves in a store in Wayne, PA (King of Prussia adjacent). The above segues into my next review: Cooperstown Select Small Batch Straight Single Malt Whiskey ($59.99 at my 'honey hole' store near my parents' house). First thoughts: A few posts...

    Bourbon guys

Memories of waking up with chunks of vomit in my hair is a powerful deterrent. Just saying... As for tomorrow, as I was about to grab the Jameson, I hesitated and kept looking, until I found something more 'appropriate'--Cooperstown Select Whiskey. 100% barley, 103 proof, 2 years in new oak...

    Bourbon guys

Even though I still have my aversion to Jack, that's well bought. As for the rye, my local Total Wine usually has the 375L size for $37.95 and based on recommendations here, it's on my list, though still down the road, moreso considering my purchase last weekend. In other news, I'm making a...

    Bourbon guys

It's been a bit since my last review, been enjoying my current rotation of known favorites. Today, I got to bring home something local: Fordham Lee, located in Middletown, MD. They sell more liqueurs (5) than bourbons (2), and this is their high-rye bourbon. First thoughts: One of the benefits...

What's Normal: In Your Long-Term M/F Relationship, Which Gender Has a 51% or Greater Stake in Decision-Making?

Maybe not, but I bet she tells you when it's time to by an edge trimmer. ;)

    US Men's National Team

I don't think it was this play I was referring to at the :50 second mark, as I seem to recall Sargent was more central in the play I remember, but this is quite deft, too.

    US Men's National Team

I remember him having a beautiful give and go with Jonathan Amon in one of the post-wet-and-bumpy, pre-GGG friendlies. IMHO he's just missing those 'fast-twitch' muscles associated with quickness, always thought he had the mechanics of a striker down pretty well, just needed a step or three more.

The middle-aged dummies are forming a band called "Blanket"! It's a cover band.

    1. Blue Monday - Orkestra Obsolete (New Order) Apparently there is a version of this on Spotify after all, though I don't think it's the same as the one I first saw on youtube. I was hoping to bring some background info on this 'band', but all I could find was that they all worked for the...
